For once it wasn’t a pro-Islam thought for the day. No, it was pro-Socialist and anti-Conservative. You can’t say the BBC does not offer variety. Click through to read and contribute comments on this post.
So, James Naughtie goes to the States to investigate the Tea Party. Here’s the interview. Did you think it fair and balanced? You can see why the BBC views this grass-roots organisation with such hatred, it is the antithesis of everything it believes in. Imagine – someone coming out to damn Socialism! Nice touch at the end – a little banjo music. Oh to be an Islington sophisticate. Click through to … Continue reading
Any one catch this interview with Met A.C. John Yates on the BBC this morning? The Labour Party must be absolutely delighted that the BBC is enthusiastically advancing the Coulson attack strategy.(Nothing like trying to undermine the Coalition on a wet Monday morning) And who would have guessed that allegations from John Prescott entirely unencumbered with evidence would nonetheless be treated as Holy Writ by the BBC? I though Yates did … Continue reading
From a discussion about crime, punishment and rehabilitation on Kate Silverton’s Radio Five Live show this morning: Laurence Lee (solicitor for Jon Venables): It goes back in my opinion to maybe the sixties, lack of parental discipline. I don’t want to sound too right-wing here… Silverton: No, carry on because we all get accused of being too left-wing here so we like a bit of the other. Yeah, a “bit” … Continue reading
Part of the menace of the BBC lies in how it willingly, even joyfully, allows itself to be a propagandist for terrorism. The IRA milked this (still does) for all it was worth, so do radical Islamists, and now we have ETA making sure that it lets the BBC know first that it is to stop murdering. Of course, it has made similar claims before, and then gone back on … Continue reading
Interesting story here. ABC News apologises for running a story claiming that melting ice is making Mount Everest dangerous. But can you guess where ABC got the idea that this was true? Yes – the BBC! ABC has retracted the story. acknowledging it has no factual basis. The BBC remains mute. Lucky all that bias Mark Thompson now confirms lies in the past. The BBC will go to any lengths to say it is not biased, as Mark Thompson has graphically shown this week with his faux confession that the corporation was guilty of bias in the past but not now. The Leviathan wriggles, it bends, it contorts, it grimaces in pursuit of that central tenet. We on this site know that such defensiveness is a load of hogwash, but it’s nevertheless very … Continue reading
The BBC Thompson unbiased mindset is made up of a complete set of nanny-state values that is based, in turn, on fantasy views of science and human development. One of the central axioms is that life in nature and the past was idyllic. People grew their own food, didn’t produce any carbon dioixide, didn’t burn nasty fossil fuels and lived in constant orgasmic stasis (or whatever tendy word is in … Continue reading
Craig in the comments has already noted how Mark Mardell has posted a BBC online diary entry which is biased against Sarah Palin. I am having a go at analysing why it’s so unfair, because it has some elements of straight reporting combined with deeply suggestive comments which slant the whole thing. No one could accuse Mardell of being stupid, so let’s look at what he does. It’s the kind … Continue reading
