MOST BIASED MOMENT OF THE YEAR

?

Well, as we approach year end, I thought it might be fun to review 2008 in terms of the worst example of BBC bias that springs to mind! I was looking back over events and I suppose the BBC’s utterly disgraceful one-sided coverage of the US Presidential election campaign stands out – with Justin Webb in particular provoking widespread criticism from this site and its readership. (He has, predictably, been promoted by the BBC as a result of his bias) Then again, we had the “Save Gordon” campaign with the BBC choosing to present our lamentable freak of a Prime Minister as if he were the saviour of the Universe. Funniest moment for me was Gordon confirming in the Commons that he had saved the world! Along the way there has been so much unbalanced left-wing bias from the BBC that it is a veritable target rich environment. So what stands out for YOU, dear reader?

The entire content of Radio 4’s Woman’s hour.

    For example, in this programme

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/womanshour/02/2008_51_thu.shtml

the rather portly Jenni Murray raised not a murmur as Dr Miriam Stoppard argued for fat children being removed from their parents as this was child abuse, and finished with this proclamation:

“The deliverables have to be delivered through intervention”

Only on the BBC could such tripe be allowed.

Well, one could go on all day.

One interesting thing about the nulabor bbc is their surprising lack of political nuance and insight.
In the baby P case this came up as support for Supergordon stating the Conservatives were using it politically.
Then a huge surge of public opinion made it a major issue on nulabor incompetence, and Gordo had to retreat, without any comment from his bbc allies.

Certainly the BBC’s treatment of Caroline Spelman has to be up there in the top biased moments – is anyone seriously believing they would go to town on a Labour MP like that over something over a decade ago?

    David Preiser (USA) 23.12.08 – 7:00 pm

Why do you say that? On what do you base your opinion?

On everything Palast has written and said. His “revelations” regarding the 2000 election and apparent ‘voter fraud’ particularly springs to mind. A good example of how the left just cannot stand it when they lose an election. Idiots.

Make 2009 the year you dont pay anything to the BBC.

Only buy the licence by cash (if you must)and dont give your name.
When licence expires dont renew it.
Ignore stupid intimidating letters from TV Licensing.

    You can also
Withdraw their implied right of access to your property, thats includes up to your front door and letterbox.
At the same time as writing the WOIRA, tell them their letters infringe the Universal Declaration Of Human Rights article 12 (trying to blacken your good reputation )
The BBC; no money, no biassed broadcasting.

Have to say for me it was the Osborne/Mandelson affair. Such blatant bias against the Tories was breathtaking. Even Preston got involved in his blog. I haven’t noticed him mention another non-economic story all year.

Tho a recent Nick Robinson blog post on how GB is looking more and more like a wartime leader did make me spit my tea all over my monitor!

  7. Cassandrina says:

Today’s Toady Programme had Preston, Robinson and one other sing the praises of super gordon – all singing from the same hymn book but Robinson was particularly odious.
In previous comments I have had replies stating that Robinson is right wing – well knock me down with a feather.
Previous to that we heard the truth of “too little too late” by the govt on the economy.

    I nominate:

    http://biased-bbc.blogspot.com/

for being totally against the BBC. Nrever bing to understand the irony of their own comments.

Eg: Calling the BBC biased because thay don’t endorse “Lord Monckton’s facts on global warming.”

The BBC has been condemned (by people here) because: ‘If you don’t agree with the “consensus,” you are condemned as a heretic, ignored or misrepresented.’

Just because the BBC doesn’t agree with a man who cannot provide any facts they are condemned. Monkton is NOT the consensus, he is a bully who refuses to debate facts, he just expects to get his own way, without debate.

Surely Monkton’s supporters are biased, not the BBC, because they want support without any debate.
