HE’S BIN AWAY TOO LONG!

I see the BBC are drooling in anticipation that new Jihad poster boy Binyan Mohamed is due to come back to Blighty next week! Love the pic of him here posing beside the Thames – wonder was it tourism or reconnaissance? The BBC are so enthusiastic about portraying Binyam as a cheerful Brit that it is almost amusing. Wonder have they more pics of him dressed up as Pearly King doing the Lambeth Walk … before he went on his travels to Al Queda’s holiday camps?

There is so much the BBC seems strangely reluctant to tell us about Binyam Mohammed.

It seems that the BM worked as a janitor at the Muslim cultural Heritage Centre (Al Manaar) in Acklam Road, Notting Hill immediately before deciding to visit Afghanistan to get over his drug habit.

There his boss would have been Dr Abdulkarim Khalil, who later went on to become assistant general secretary of the BBC-beloved Muslim Council of Britain.

Khalil, a refugee from Libya, managed to conjure 2 million pounds for the waqf to found this centre. How, I wonder?

Khalil was an engineering grad, BM is reported to have been “studying engineering”, but no-one says where.

Where does Benyam Mohammed really come from? Googling provides lots of mentions of Ethiopia, but an almost equal number saying Eritrea. But very few reports mention the fact that Benyam Mo came to Britain neither from Ethiopia, nor from Eritrea, but had been living with his parents for a number of years in the United States before applying for asylum here.

BM was given exceptional leave to remain in the UK for four years (possibly renewable) in the year 2000.
But as soon as June 2001, he was off to Afghanistan to sort out his Jones. Some might say that for a heroin addict to go from North Kensington
to Afghanistan was equivalent to jumping from the frying pan to the fire. But the BBC raises no eyebrow.

Then there is the small matter of the admissions BM made not under torture or duress, but to his friendly court-appointed lawyer. At his first military commission BM cheerfully admitted undergoing training at an al-Qaeda camp in Afghanistan, saying that he had been getting ready to fight in Chechnya. Again al-Beeb is silent.

There seems a lot of circumstantial evidence suggesting this man was indeed horribly tortured by thugs in Morocco and Afganistan. This should not be excused.

But there is also circumstantial evidence that he is a very fishy character, and the BBC shouldn’t buy into this “wrong man in the wrong place at the wrong time” routine until they have done some serious digging.

Nonetheless,is it any of our business? He could have also been tortured by AQ or the Taleban.

In just one post you provide more info on this creep than the BBC provides in a whole day of “reporting”.

Any claim of torture from an Al Q trainee has to be suspect, as the Al Q training manual tells them to make claims of torture whether it has happened or not. Presumably to give a thrill to all the human rights lawyers and Beeboids.

The BBC never reports on the sworn statement by a member of the US military that this creep looked perfectly fine at several material times – and was not then complaining of any torture.

Well, legally it is. By agreeing to be his home country until 2004 (and he did live here 7 years) our government took on the responsibility of being responsible for his welfare if arrested abroad. If we only even half-suspected that some Moroccan sadist was hacking at the poor bloke’s todger with a stanley knife, we should have had the British Consul round there pronto.

    Or perhaps i’m naïve to treat this as anything other than a pretext for some muslim bashing;

Osama Bin Laden once lived in the UK. Are we responsible for his welfare as well?

No doubt he would pass the BBC’s British resident test. On a serious note though – what would the UK GVN do if Osama turned up alive and well at Heathrow airport? Thanks to the ECHR act we couldn’t deport him to America, Afganistan or Saudi Arabia (all have the death penalty). Would we have to give him asylum? And wouldn’t that work wonders for our special relationship.

Here’s a huge story – all about evidence from Pakistan of all places – proving that the BritPaks are sending parts to the Taliban, directly from the UK or via the Hindu Kush – to help build road side bombs to kill our soldiers and their “fellow citizens”!

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/politics/defence/4736032/British-Muslims-providing-Taliban-with-electronic-devices-for-roadside-bombs.html

This major story – a disturbing exposee of Mussie perfidy – is somehow missed by the BBC. Strange that.

By the way, I am not right wing yet I find BBC bias appalling and sinister.

I have argued with MWL at times as I think he is misguided. However, he has every right to his opinion. If we are fighting “bias” we should be prepared to protect people’s rights to their own opinions, even if they differ from our own. And less of the offensive, personal comments please. Only in ZanuLabour Land are people allowed to have just one point of view. If we are convinced by our case, we should have as many pro-BBC people as possible, if only to convince them they are wrong. I say, bring ’em on!

are you aware of any website that complains of right wing BBC bias?

Actually there is. It’s an unconsciously hilarious site called MediaLens.

When I first found it, I thought it must be run by Noam Chomsky, but then I thought he must have to do some work at MIT, so it must be his brother.

Sometimes you even get a complaint there that seems as if it might belong here, ’til then suddenly some piece of reality is turned upside down or back to front.

Here’s ML on recent BBC coverage of Israel:

I am close to *speechless*. I really am completely astounded at what I keep seeing the BBC do on this issue. Trying to get them to behave with even elementary fairness is like trying to push water uphill: it doesn’t matter which part you put pressure on, there’s always some other part that flows past you. And whatever we all do or say to try and get this nauseatingly compliant crew to present the basic realities in a way that doesn’t slyly deny or undermine the Palestinian case, there is always *a new trick* ready to be played…

    See what I mean?

    “‘Permanent Swat ceasefire agreed'”

-the BBC misses out the political links which Mark Steyn makes here:

    “From Islamabad to Bradford”

    [Extract]:

“Along with the demographic growth has come radicalization: It’s not just that there are more Muslims, but that, within that growing population, moderate Islam is on the decline — in Singapore, in the Balkans, in northern England — and radicalized, Arabized, Wahhabized Islam is on the rise. So we have degrees of accommodation: surrender in Islamabad, appeasement in London, acceptance in Toronto and Buffalo.”

Rod Liddle, with an alternative take to that of the BBC:

‘Triumph for human rights and psycho jihadists’

    [Extract]:

“This has been an excellent week for Muslim psychopaths. First, Abu Qatada – ‘Osama Bin Laden’s right-hand man in Europe’ – has been given leave to stay in Britain by the European Court of Human Rights – and has also been bunged some money to compensate him for having been banged up in the first place.

“And no sooner have we cleared the champagne flutes away and banished our hangovers after this celebration than it is reported that Binyam Mohamed is on his way back too. Binyam has been in Guantanamo Bay for a while, having been accused by the Americans of wandering around the Hindu Kush looking for infidels to murder, like a sort of well-armed Norman Wisdom with a grievance. He says he’s innocent and has been tortured by America’s flunkeys.

“Binyam is an Ethiopian who was never awarded full citizenship here, so it’s a real stroke of luck that we end up with custody of the man. Old Abu, meanwhile, is wanted on terrorism charges in half of Europe and Jordan as well, but the European Court has decided in our favour: we can keep him while it mulls things over for a while.” (Rod Liddle.)

Yes, that makes complete sense doesn’t it? Having seen the pic myself, I’m off to Afghanistan to join the Mujahideen now.

Or it could be that there aren’t too many pictures of this man in the public domain. About 2 that I’m aware of. The other is below:

    No

The BBC radio and TV reports nearly every time fail to state why he was held in the first place, what the allegations against him are. Including his confession that he received Al Q training – which his US lawyers have conceded was fact, not mere allegation.

Instead – what we mostly get from the biased BBC is what his complaints are.

With no mention that Al Q training includes instructions to claim that there has been torture.

So – FACT that he was an Al Q trainee who worked with well-known names on possible major attacks in the US.
Not spelled out in the endless BBC radio bulletins.
SUPPOSITION – that he was tortured – mentioned in nearly every bulletin.

One-sided reporting. The epitome of bias.
