BUDGET DAY OPEN THREAD

Well, the Chancellor in his Downing Street bunker will be doing some serious spinning today as he seeks to steal more of our cash and we can naturally rely on the BBC to cast things in the most favourable light possible for Draling SO I thought I would open up this thread for your comments as we go through the day. Vince Cable was the first man on the BBC this morning to offer his words of, erm, wisdom – not sure if the BBC has heard of the Conservatives but the rest of the day will tell the tale. Speak later!

THE FASCINATION WITH TERRORISM

Has there ever been a terrorist group that the BBC did not instinctively like? (Well, apart from Irgun?) I listened to this item on Today just before 8am concerning the looming defeat of the so-called Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka and the entire tone was one of showing brotherly solidarity with these vicious terrorists.  Both the commentators that the BBC used took the view that the Tigers could never be truly defeated and that one could not trust what the Sri Lankan government said. I wonder WHY the BBC finds it so hard to dislike those who carry out terrorism? Maybe a terrorist is just a friend you have yet to meet?

NICE MAN JACK?

The  death of Jack Jones, the Trades Union baron from the 1970’s who helped bring Britain to it’s knees, has produced grand eulogies on the BBC this morning, with the game being how often the word “socialism” could be repeated in one sentence. Determined not to let the moment pass, BBC stalwart St Tony Benn was invited on to talk about his good fried Jack and instantly turned it into an attack on Margaret Thatcher, without a hint of BBC disapproval. The Free Market was also castigated by Benn as the cause of the recession, without any contrary opinion. One can only assume Jack Jones would have been proud. As a post-script, Thought for the Day followed. This time, the Rev Jones launched an onslaught on our “consumer” society. All in all, a wonderful little 10 minutes for socialism – brought to you by our State Broadcaster.

SEASONS IN THE SUN

So, the BBC finally wakens up to the fact that the Sun has been dimming and that sunspot activity is very low but yet it manages to find a scientist in the form of Mike Lockwood who ameliorates the impact this may have have on climate change on Earth. It would have been nice had the BBC been able to locate at least one of the many scientists who can demonstrates that our climate is massively influenced by solar activity but then again they are “sceptics” and they spoil the narrative.

TIGERS IN CENTRAL LONDON.

Notice the sympathetic treatment being given to the infestation of the area around Parliament by thousands of pro-terror Tami Tiger supporters by the BBC? We are invited to feel their pain, and of course the police treatment afforded them is with kid gloves. Compare this treatment to that afforded to the Country Sports supporters by both the BBC and the Police.

THE RECESSION IS OVER…..

…go back to your constituencies and prepare for victory! So goes the BBC narrative on behalf of the Labour government this morning, with useful fools like the CBI chipping in to try and help the hapless Darling. It’s amazing to listen to the Today programme shill that the UK has “almost certainly” left the worst of the..shall we call it a downturn to save blushes? – behind it. Even Nick Robinson popped up to declare that after an “awful” post G20 period, (Even though everyone agrees the G2O was a great success for the Gordfather, he swiftly added) it was back to business as usual today. But I disagree. EVERY day is business as usual as the State Broadcaster does all it can to big up the pro-Labour narrative – and between now and the end of this week the mission will be to implant the idea in the general population that green shoots are now everywhere and that Darling has thoroughly prepared the Nation for recovery. All delusional, of course, but also all part of why the BBC exists.

BOYCOTTING HATE FORUM.

I see that the BBC is flagging up that next week’s UN Hate Israel aka “Racism” forum will suffer a boycott. Thankfully, Australia and the Netherlands has joined the US, Israel, Italy and Canada in boycotting the talks. TItaliche gutless Brown administration IS sending a delegation, but at least no senior official will be present. The hard left, including the BBC of course, approves of these UN assaults on the West in general and Israel in particular and so when the BBC finishes this item by stating disapprovingly that “Human rights groups and UN diplomats are dismayed that what should an important event has descended into politics” can we be surprised? It may come as a surprise to the BBC correspondent but the UN is an entirely political organisation and the only importance of this event next week is to laud vermin like Ahmadinejad and bash Israel.
