OBAMA AND THE BANKERS…

Glowing report here from the BBC concerning Obama’s speech to the US Financial institutions. The Lightworker declares that “We will not go back to the days of reckless behaviour and unchecked excess at the heart of this crisis.” Obama’s big plan is to intrude further into the private sector and seek to control it more. Based on this BBC report, everyone agrees with him which begs the questions as to where all those “tens of thousands” of people who marched through DC the other day come from? Why can the BBC not provide space to those in the US and elsewhere who consider that more government is not the answer, but rather the problem?

THE MINUTE YOU WALKED IN THE JOINT……..

Anyone catch Lord Mandelson ducking and diving with Jim Naughtie on Today this morning? The big lie being perpetuated this morning was that Labour would “spend wisely” whereas the evil Conservatives would…gasp…CUT vital public services! (The sort that Comrade Barber was on earlier to defend) In fairness to Jim, he tried to get Mandy to say “cuts” when it came to Labour plans but the adroit Lord Rio avoided the use of the word. I got the impression that Naughtie wanted Mandelson to state that the hated Trident might be up for the axe but again, the slippery Lord left the doors all open.

THE BBC GO TO WASHINGTON – BUT MISS THE STORY!

Predictable. Have you read the BBC’s coverage of the huge rally of Americans in DC unhappy at The One and his Obamacare plans? It starts by telling us that there were “tens of thousands” of people there (underplay) before then hailing the fact that the Lightworker addressed a crowd of 15,000 adoring supporters. The MSM has been caught out by the scale of the protest and there is a clear attempt to play down the significance of this dissent. The BBC then shows clear bias when it states ” The health care plans currently being considered in Congress are all attempting to expand coverage, while also reforming the system to prevent spiralling costs.” That’s an opinion. Plenty of Americans see the health care plans being considered in Congress as poorly considered and likely to massively increase costs. That’s also an opinion. Why does the BBC only parrot one pov?

TALKING IN THE DARK…

Comrade Barber of the TUC has his ludicrous economic assessment carried by the BBC here. The odd thing is that Barber gets space for his contention that it would be madness to deal with the burgeoning public sector debt by..erm.. cutting it. McDoom gets space to say all is well. Vince Cable even gets space to have his have it all ways say…but, I think ONE party is all but ignored. Can you guess which one? Barber even gets a veiled threat to public safety in the last but one sentence. The BBC does not pursue it, naturally. As we approach the GE, the BBC will work with the Union baronsto ensure that Cameron is as boxed in as is possible so that any post election propensity to axe the bloated State sector is minimised. Self-interest is clearly a driving force here!

B-BBC COMMENTING…UPDATE

I wanted to thank you all for your feedback and update you on where things are going. It is obvious to me that the blogger commenting system is limited and I want to be able to do three things here for you;

1. Ensure good and instant communications
2. Keep trolls away if they are becoming disruptive
3. Make this site better all the time

Thanks to my good friend, The All Seeing Eye, I think we may be able to do all of the above and very shortly. So please bear with us and we work to make B-BBC an even better place for you to visit and contribute to. All will be revealed anon, if you’ll pardon the pun!

Suppressio Veri, Suggestio Falsi (again)

aka “The suppression of the truth is the suggestion of a falsehood.

When I heard on Radio Four news headlines blaze forth the news that German commercial ships had successfully navigated the North East Passage, with the clear implication that it had never been done before (and was now only possible because of climate change), I was puzzled. Hadn’t Stalin put a lot of effort into cracking just this problem in the 1930s, in order that the Soviet Navy not have to circumnavigate the globe to get to the Far East, as happened with their ill-fated Second Pacific Squadron in 1904 ? Isn’t that why they had nuclear-powered icebreakers ?

The answers are – yes, they had, and yes that’s why.

After a couple more trial runs, in 1933 and 1934, the Northern Sea Route was officially open and commercial exploitation began in 1935. The next year, part of the Baltic Fleet made the passage to the Pacific where armed conflict with Japan was looming.

Richard North examines the entrails at EU Referendum. He mostly concentrates on the Independent newspaper, which came out with a straight lie, but the BBC report is also mentioned.

Given that hardly anyone reads the Independent, yet BBC radio news is listened to by millions of people, its likely that far more people have been deceived by the BBCs insinuations than the Indie’s outright lies.

(Disclaimer – I actually believe it is pretty certain that chucking large amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere could indeed impact the climate – the question is to what extent, and what actions should be taken to mitigate risk. But a good cause doesn’t justify falsehood.)

Who Said What

Did John Denham really make the remark that headlined the news on the radio this morning?

The Communities Secretary, John Denham, has compared some modern right-wing groups to Oswald Mosley and the British Union of Fascists in the 1930s.

Was he really echoing the notorious claim that “Muslims are the new Jews?”
On the Today programme he said the Guardian had put the words into his mouth.
The news headline later changed to “John Denham sought to clarify…..”
What is going on? Who said what? Who wrote the headline and what did they mean?

B-BBC COMMENTING…

With more and more people following this blog everyday I have been thinking about the commenting policy and in particular the being able to comment as “anonymous” feature of blogger. I am naturally libertarian minded – which is why some trolls have not been banned – but I think threads where one “Anon” debates with another “Anon” is a bit confusing. So I have three options and I want to put them to you in the form of a poll so that YOU can decide what we do! Hope that sounds fair enough.

The options are;
To leave it as it is with people being able to leave comments as “anonymous”
To require registered users including live ID
To require users with google account
To require only members of this blog
If we have any tech experts, perhaps they can elaborate on what this all means. There are no other options so it is one of the above, folks
My preference is to tighten up on all the anons. I don’t need to know your actual name but it is helpful if we all have a name unique to us, invented or otherwise. How I achieve this is another matter but the choice should be yours…

OPEN THREAD…

OK, my work for today is done. it’s Friday and time for an open thread to take us all into the weekend. Ladies and gentlemen, the floor is yours….!

REMEMBERING 9/11

I covered this over on my own blog and didn’t want today to pass without making reference here on B-BBC.

It is eight years ago since Islamic savages committed the atrocity that we call 9/11. Eight years on, even the BBC still makes reference to the event such was the scale of the terrorism. Do you remember the Question Time that took place on the BBC a few days later? It was truly awful as the BBC audience launched into one attack after another on the US Ambassador Philip Lader who was on the panel – virtually reducing the man to tears. At the time, the BBC accepted that the audience could have been more representative. Does anyone think things have improved over the years? Does anyone think that someone articulating a clear anti-Jihad pro-war opinion would get a fair hearing now?
Eight years on, I suggest that the BBC has done everything possible to push the ludicrous notion that US (and UK) foreign policy were key contributors to what happened back in 2001. Jihad comes in many forms. Eight years ago, it turned passenger aircraft into flying missiles. Eight years later, it turns our MSM, including the BBC, into cultural advocates for submission to Islam. I often wonder could we have successfully prosecuted WW2 had the BBC been relentlessly against any fightback against the Nazis? I am sure that the BBC has played a central role in creating the mindset amongst the UK population that fighting back is not really an option when it comes to dealing with Jihad. Instead we must try and win their hearts and minds. In doing so, we revert to 9/10. Sad.

On this day, let us all at B-BBC remember what happened on 9/11.
