THAT DUTCH ELECTION….

The BBC has been curiously silent about the Dutch election, up until today. I think the Wilders factor perturbs them so they have to be careful how they cover this story. Earlier this morning, before 7am, I listened to the BBC state that because of the economic situation, immigration was less of an issue and therefore Wilders Party would not do as well as it was hoping though “it may double its vote”! Jonny Dymond produced a slightly more comprehensive coverage here – I bet he enjoys the relaxed lifestyle of the Dutch. His report is better balanced but there is the same line being sold that the Dutch will vote on the economy, and that Immigration is less of an issue than it was. The implication is that there is no connection between immigration and a country having to deal with severe recession! We shall see.

DON’T BE BEASTLY TO DARLING…

Some mornings, the BBC can’t wait to get stuck in to their important business of attacking the Government now that it is no longer a Labour Government. Take this at 7.09am. Evidently irritated by David Cameron unveiling the sheer scale of Labour’s profligacy, the BBC hits back by having Tim Harford (Who presents a BBC programme) declare that all the figures now being quoted were public knowledge. Note Harford’s final sneering comments. The idea being sold here is that the Coalition can’t be trusted when it comes to quoting financial figures so don’t be beastly to Darling.

IN PRAISE OF PREZZA?

Did you catch this “interview” on Today between Zac Goldsmith and John Prescott? I feel that James Naughtie allowed Prescott to interrupt, make childish class-baiting allegations and then dared to suggest they were both “going at it”. This is not what I heard. I carry no candle for Goldsmith but he was courteous whilst Prescott was rude and arrogant and got much more time to defend his own stupid housing schemes. This is a favoured BBC tactic – invite on two people, allow one of them (usually from the left) to rant and rave uninterrupted and then when the other interviewee dares to respond they are both labelled the same. Prescott hectored and blustered and Naughtie made no attempt to ensure any fairness. More pathetic bias.

Making Israel Toast

Melanie Phillips presents two inspiring pieces today. William Shawcross’s JPost article, and a statement made last year by Spanish politician and journalist Pilar Rahola.

The international press does major damage when reporting on the question of the Israeli-Palestinian issue. On this topic they don’t inform, they propagandize. When reporting about Israel the majority of journalists forget the reporter code of ethics. And so, any Israeli act of self-defense becomes a massacre, and any confrontation, genocide. So many stupid things have been written about Israel, that there aren’t any accusations left to level against her. At the same time, this press never discusses Syrian and Iranian interference in propagating violence against Israel; the indoctrination of children and the corruption of the Palestinians. And when reporting about victims, every Palestinian casualty is reported as tragedy and every Israeli victim is camouflaged, hidden or reported about with disdain.

A comment under Mr. Shawcross’s article in the JPost links to an online article from the US that adds an even more sinister dimension to Israel’s predicament. The US government’s abandonment of Israel and the implications thereof.

I intended to insert a video of a discussion between Jonathan Sacerdoti and Dr. Ghada Fahmi that was aired on Al-Jazeera, but my link wouldn’t upload:
http://www.youtube.com/user/mrjonsac#p/u/4/RT8ZtjNheMk
Do see what you can do with it. Or go through this and click on the link “speaking” in the 3rd paragraph.

Dr. Fahmi holds an important position in the Islamic Studies department at Exeter University, the university where Ilan Pappe is Professor of (revisionist) History. I’m told that the Arabic and Islamic Studies department is generously funded by Saudi Arabia.

This wasn’t on the BBC, but Dr. Fahmi does appear on the BBC, and is regarded as a credible spokesperson. I wonder how many people she speaks for, and if her attitude to the flotilla fiasco actually represents BBC thinking, or that of the British intelligentsia. Her theory is that the media unfairly favours Israel. The reason? Because they have the audacity to air, occasionally, Israeli spokespersons. In Dr. Fahmi’s view, this alone constitutes egregious media bias towards Israel.

KILL THATCHER!

Any ideas on why the BBC seem so relaxed about the fact that John McDonnell – a man seeking to lead the Labour Party – regrets that he could not go back to the 1980’s and assassinate Margaret Thatcher? I understand his comments got a round of applause from the Trade Union comrades in the audience, so any ideas on why the BBC seem so relaxed on this celebration of wished for murder of a British Prime Minister? Remember the rule – whatever is wrong Thatcher is always to blame.

NOTHING LIKE A DAME..

They say that there is nothing like a Dame, and that is assuredly true when one reflects on Dame Ann Owers – the Chief Inspector of Prisons for England and Wales. This wet as a fresh fish liberal maroon can always be relied upon to echo BBC sentiment and so it is that she was on Today this morning (7.24am) to inform us that Muslim inmates of our prisons could be radicalised because of… insensitive treatment by Prison Officers. We need to respect these Muslim inmates as individuals and ensure that care is given when dealing with them. Remember, when good Muslims go bad, it’s OUR fault.

Liberal-minded Owers is perfect for the BBC. She regularly parades onto Today to attack the penal system and she must be a real downer for all those hard-working prison officers who do their best to keep order in the liberal system that Owers and her ilk have put in place. Why was there no one allowed on to put a counter view to the drivel served up by Owers? With some of our prisons being virtually taken over by Muslim gangs, I would have said staff are already far too easy on practitioners of the Religion of Peace

BIAS NOT UNCOMMON!

Interesting catch here by another eagle-eyed B-BBC reader…It related to this story.

Scroll over to the Jon Donnison “analysis” box…

“The BBC’s Jon Donnison, in the West Bank town ofRamallah, says it is not yet clear exactly what happened.

But it is not uncommon for the Israeli navy to open fireon fishing boats it feels are too far out at sea, he adds.”

Our reader ask “What is the relevance of the second line?”
Simple – Jews= bad.
Wonder could Helen Thomas get a gig at the BBC, I believe she is now looking for a job?

SHOT ON SIGHT …

An eagle eyed Biased BBC reader picks up on this...it has been doctored so that it reads “The Africans risking it all on the Egypt-Israel border” This is what is originally said,,,,

‘Shot on sight, The Africans risking it all to cross into Israel’

The actual story was about Egyptians shooting Africanimmigrants:

In his sparsely decorated apartment, Yahya Mohamed Idris,a refugee from Darfur in Sudan, explains how he risked everything trying to moveto Israel. “I decided to go to Israel because people who wentbefore told me the situation was much better over there,” he says. “I left my country looking for safety and securitybut in Egypt I found harassment and more problems. “Work here is difficult and they throw stones andtomatoes at me on the street. They curse at me and call me ‘the black’.” “While we were crossing the border they openedfire,” Idris recalls.”We surrendered and sat on the ground and theystarted beating us and shooting all around. My wife fainted and the kids werescreaming.” At least 16 sub-Saharan African refugees and migrantshave been shot dead at the border this year. Many others suffered injuries.

Warnings ignored

“This is a common problem. When people try to crossthe border to Israel, the Egyptian security shoot and kill them,” commentsAbdalla Hanzal, who works with a refugee support group.

ACTIVISM UNDERWATER…

I was reading this BBC report on the news that Israel has stopped a Palestinian terrorist attack, this time at sea, as four Palestinian humanitarians wearing diving suits met a watery death. In the first sentence the BBC tell us that Israel has killed four Palestinians. 8 paragraphs later the BBC informs us that “The al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades, a militant group linked to Fatah, has reported that four of its men were killed and a fifth is missing.” So, Israel kills terrorists might be a more accurate heading. Given Al-Aqsa’s long track record of cruel and vicious terrorism, calling them “militants” seems as preposterous as calling the Islamic thugs on the Marmara “peace activists.” Given that the BBC portray Al Fatah as the more benevolent side of Palestinians, and given that this was THEIR terror group in action, I’m surprised the BBC has so few questions to ask about it. We know Hamas are sanitised by the BBC, and now so are Fatah.
