It looks like the tyrannical regime is split, divided, at war with itself and surely it is only a matter of time until it falls? Libya? Nope – the Coalition if one judges this on the shockingly biased BBC coverage of the pretend “split” between UK armed forces and the Government. The BBC is determined to portray the Cameron leadership as confused and conflicted and if all else looks pear-shaped for Ghadaffi, well – he can always tune into the BBC world service and look on the bright side of life.

Not sure I can see bias here. Other news agencies take the same line. Debka is insistent on this. This situation has all the hallmarks of chaos incorporated at work.
I take the old fashioned view that our armed forces are there to defend and protect Britain not take part in “humanitarian” missions or act as armed social workers in corrupt third world hellholes.
Not sure about bias but if anyone spoke to me in that whinny, hammy holier-than-thou tone I’d tell them where to go.
P.S. Cameron has come out of this very well so far so it’s up to Her Majesty’s opposition (BBC) to pull him down when and where they can

General Sir David Richards know full well that Mr Fox is a civilian MP or self serving idiot after another expenses payout and knows sod all about his brief and like his opposite number will make stupid and crass judgements! so as Chief of the Defence staff it’s his job to tell Mr Fox what is militarily possible or not ! so talking to the bloody BBC about what’s right and wrong to do in war is not his job telling his boss in private is !!
On PM last night the BBC transmitted a number of questions/discussion points from the Libya debate in Parliament, all of which seemed to suggest that Cameron might have significant opposition.

I don’t think the BBC is big on voting, especially when it doesn’t fit with the narrative.
Polls, however…. very keen. If, oddly, mainly ones they happen to like or commission.
Disagreement? The Government is thinking about it but haven’t given the order to the military yet. It’s perfectly reasonable for the military to say, “No, Ghaddafi is not a target” if they haven’t been told he is, and they should still say that until they do.
This is idiotic.
Quite, can you imagine the response of the BBC had he said that Gaddafi was a target. The Military must carry out their orders as handed down. Any expansion of objectives is for the Politicians and not the Military.
The problem for the BBC is that Cameron has shown himself to be clear and decisive in this. He has lead the way in bringing the various countries together in this course of action ( unlike Obama).
I personally think after our previous adventures in Arab lands, we should leave them to their own devices. The perverse logic of the Arab mind will turn against us eventually. That aside Cameron is showing himself to be a leader and the BBC do not like that.
Fair comment. One notices that wee Dougie has been told to pipe down, as his waving of a piece of paper in his hand on behalf of Labour played well until it transpired that avenue was looking a bit daft.
The media ‘thrust’ now being explored (on SKY at least, with Kay Burley in Libya for some reason trying to wipe the hair out her eyes as the wind makes her interview from a hotel balcony with folk in London inaudible) is the lack of an exit strategy.
Which is, I concede, one heck of an issue.
But by worrying this bone, again without any concern for the big picture, the media seem to have neatly forgotten that if you see a person drowning in the river you don’t immediately book a 4pm meeting to discuss H&S first.
Unless. of course, you come from a mindset that reckons this is exactly what you do.
Frankly our pols have the media they deserve. Trouble is, we vote for our pols to represent us, yet they dance to the tune of media who don’t. And by having no loyalty to anything save petty ratings or agenda, the result is a short-term, knee-jerk dog’s dinner.
