EVEN WHEN IT’S RIGHT, IT’S WRONG…

The Cleggeron transport minister Phillip Hammond has caused hoots of derision with his ludicrous claims – made on the BBC Daily Politics Show last Wednesday – that wind turbines do not attract subsidy. They do, and they also benefit from an electricity tariff that forces us, the suffering public, to pay ludicrously high charges for this so-called “renewable” energy.

Andrew Neil, the host of the show, has decided to check out the veracity of Mr Hammond’s claims and he has blogged about his efforts. Good on him, but what he has written shows that when anyone, absolutely anyone, at the BBC writes about climate change, they get it wrong. Mr Neil claims that the only “subsidy” that windfarms receive is through the the higher electricity charges. He ignores/misses/doesn’t know the full facts, namely that these monstrosities do receive direct subsidies through a variety of routes, including help with so-called infrastructure development. The truth may be deliberately buried under screeds of bureaucracy and regulation, but the subsidy gravy train is definitely in motion. And of course, Cleggeron climate change nutter-in-chief Chris Huhne sings their praises at every opportunity, as well as preventing any possibility of the UK adopting sensible energy policies.

Oh, and Mr Neil, windfarms also wreak huge environmental damage by killing wildife, destroying the countryside, bringing misery to rural communities and by gobbling up huge quantities of rare earth metals in their maunufacture.

RANTING AWAY…

Autonomous Mind waspishly but brilliantly explains here why David Cameron’s claims today that he will get rid of bureaucracy and stimulate enterprise are a load of hot air. The BBC, of course, uses the speech mainly as yet another pretext to pursue the corporation’s anti-cuts we-want-Labour-back agenda; there’s not a whisper in their Cameron coverage about the real enemy to growth and enterpise, which is the EU.

Meanwhile, without any sense of irony, Roger Harrabin reports about one of the most chilling documents I have ever seen. It was slipped out last week by DEFRA and is called Mainstreaming Sustainable Development. What it means in practice is that the incompetents at DEFRA (who have already wrecked huge parts of British agriculture, slavishly follow EU diktats, and masterminded such debacles as the response to foot-and-mouth) henceforward have a mandate to meddle in every sphere of British life to ensure that eco-loon measures are adopted at almost all and any cost. This really is eco-fascism in action and will ensure that taxes are jacked up in the effort to reduce CO2; all efforts to start new businesses in the UK are swamped by eco-regulations (on top of the thousands of pages already enacted by the EU); and waste management – already a total sick joke – will become even more complex.

For Harrabin and his cronies, of course, even this is not enough. His entire article is taken up by the usual eco-loons like Jonathan Porritt who are bellyaching and moaning that much stricter measures must be introduced and jackboot government must enforce them. Already we have been warned that electricity is going to become an intermittent commodity, and Britain’s energy policy is simply dangerously complacent. Mr Harrabin will not stop his one-sided ranting until we are back in the stone age.

POURING OIL ON THE FLAMES

This was such an important post from Pounce on the Open Thread that it deserved a main post all of its own. Thank you Pounce.

Questions are currently being asked about why a British designer is anti-Semitic and how did he become so polarised. Well with News articles like this from the bBC it isn’t hard in which to find fault with the Jews:
Row over Israel gas reserve tax

The above link takes you to a video link where Iranian ‘Mohammad Manzarpour’ who used to be a Human Resources manager in Tehran opines over how Israel has changed its tax system towards oil companies from one of tax breaks to one of paying Tax (to around 50%) on their profits. Yet while the title states American companies they interview..Jewish companies. (That’s because only 1 American Oil company (Noble) is involved in the drilling of Oil.)

Now I’m all for diversity but come on bBC get somebody whom I can bloody understand. Call me ugly, call me a bigot but the fact remains I want to hear somebody speaking English which I can understand. Instead you allow somebody who sounds like a window licker to air a very biased report about how bad Israel is for upping its tax on Oil companies which isn’t how the same tax rate taken against US Oil companies elsewhere are reported:
Venezuela
Bolivia
UK
Funny how the champions of liberty in those countries can do likewise and the bBC doesn’t bat an eyelid.

Then there’s the clip in the end where the allegation is made that actually the new gas fields found off Israel actually belong to Lebanon and that Israel (backed up by showing a picture of an Israeli gunboat) is prepared to back up its theft of oil by force. Where actually the Oil fields if looked at on a map are well away from Lebanon, Egypt and Turkey who have all stated it belongs to them. But ref that Israel claim about going to war in which to protect its claim what the bBC doesn’t state is it was made in reply to this statement from Hezb-allah:
Hezbollah’s Executive Council head Hashem Safieddine said the militant Islamist group would not allow Israel to pillage what it considers Lebanese natural gas, Haaretz reported. “Lebanon’s need for the resistance has doubled today in light of Israeli threats to steal Lebanon’s oil wealth.”

And here another snippet Mohammed of the bBC doesn’t want you to know:
“Maps from Noble Energy show Leviathan within Israel’s waters. An official with Norway’s Petroleum Geo-Services, which is surveying gas fields in Lebanese waters, told The Associated Press that from Noble’s reports there is no reason to think Leviathan extends into Lebanon”
Yet again another non story from the bBC in which to slate how Israel is taxing Oil firms, on that note when was the last time you saw the bBC champion BP, Shell or even Exxon? But when they are sparing against Israel they can only be victims.

And we all wonder why the British are becoming polarised against Jews. Years of character assassination from the bBC has ensured that Jews can only be evil while in the mirror universe they inhabit Islam is promoted as a religion of peace.

Just to add a couple of things about Mohammad Manzarpour of the BBC Persian service. His Facebook account shows that he “likes” Che Guevara. More significantly, he also added his name to an anti-war petition, along with Galloway, Benn, Pinter et al, protesting about possible US/UK action against Iran.

(On the company he worked for as a Human Resources manager, Atieh Bahar Consulting, this article from the Progressive American-Iranian Committee alleges very close links to the Iranian regime).

THE FIRST MARTYR OF THE LSE….

Sir Howard Davies is being treated by the BBC as if he were the first martyr of the London School of Economics given his resignation over LSE closeness to the Libyan tyranny. However I get the impression from BBC coverage of this issue (On Today 8.34am and 8.49am, a double whammy!) that the BBC thinks Sir Howard has perhaps been a little precipitative in his resignation over this “unfortunate” issue and anyway, isn’t UK business itself  guilty of taking money from some questionable sources? Never miss the opportunity to attack the capitalist system, right? Of course the biggest scandal of all is that millions of us Brits are forced by the BBC to given them our cash to fund their social engineering broadcasting network. That is every bit as big a scandal as anything the LSE do with Libyan blood money.

THE KIND HEARTED EU…

To all of those cynics out there who consider the EU a black-hearted tyranny, chill. Richard Black, BBC Environment correspondent brings us good news…

The European Commission will not call for tougher targets on carbon emmissions despite analysis showing doing so would be cost-effective.

If you read the item he has posted, there is a distinct sense of disappointment that the noble Eurocrats have not imposed even stiffer targets on carbon emissions, thus implying that the 20% targets already in place are reaonable and sensible – when nothing could be further from the truth!

Fellow B-BBC writer Robin Horbury has done a great job exposing the activist role played by Black and others even as they posture as models of journalistic impartiality. I simply take the view that everything Black says is justwell, so much hot air. Can we cap that?

BBC DEMI-GODS

If you examine the 2005 report by Lord Wilson of Dinton into the BBC’s coverage of EU-related matters, what leaps out is bias by omission, the crude but systematic ignoring by BBC journalists of important EU issues. Six years on, nothing has changed. Transcripts of relevant items on yesterday’s main news programmes on BBC radio and television show that there was scarcely any discussion of UKIP’s remarkable second-place result in the Barnsley by-election. There was a 20-seconds soundbite from Nigel Farage on Today, but that was virtually it; UKIP was airbrushed out and the only angle that was covered was that the Lib Dems got a good kicking – giving BBC journalists another excuse to continue with their cacophony of anti-cuts stories. This fits in with their long-term agenda to both brand UKIP as loonies and otherwise ignore the party. The idea that UKIP reflects a major and fast-growing anti-EU swell of opinion is repugant to all BBC journalists.

In fact, the EU only ever comes under criticism from the BBC when there is worry that Brussels is not doing enough about climate change. Here, Richard Black sets out at length and without balance the views of those who think that an already suicidal 20% cut in C02 emissions should be increased to a lunatic 25% or more. To enliven his argument, he highlights a quote from a group of his eco-zealot chums called Sandbag, the jolly members of which are pictured above. They say, no doubt exactly in line with Mr Black’s own views:

“The scaremongering tactics of a handful of industrial lobbyists have successfully castrated Europe’s climate ambitions”

As I have noted before, there’s a clear link between Sandbag and the Futerra PR camapigning group which trains BBC personnel in propaganda techniques. That aside, as far as I can see, the only qualifications that this loathsome self-important, eco-fascist group have to lecture us are that they have spent years on fat salaries working for groups such as Oxfam and WWF. For Mr Black, of course, they are demi-gods.

TRICKY VICKY GOES MANUFACTURING….

…on the BBC at least. A B-BBC reader writes…

On 5Live on Wednesday Victoria Derbyshire gave us a fine example of the BBC manufacturing a news story.

Riven Vincent. the mother of a disabled child who caught the headlines in January for her criticism of provision for respite care, was dragged into the studio by Derbyshire for an interview….she wasn’t a ‘current’ story in the news so….

Why?

This is an old story and it seems that VD intended solely to use Vincent as a vehicle to attack the Government. The summary of the inteview was that Riven Vincent has declared that she ‘no longer believes David Cameron is on the side of disabled children.’

This was then cut and pasted into 5Live News.

Why?

It wasn’t ‘news’…it was a regurgitated story from January in which Vincent said the same thing.

The conclusion has to be that this is the BBC casting around for ways to attack Cameron…this is the same 5Live that assiduously followed every anti-cuts protest and helpfully told us where and when they would be occurring.

Contrast the normal BBC reaction with the cuts which is to blame the Governemt as ‘savage and brutal’….when VD asked who was to blame, expecting ‘the government’ as the answer, what she got, to her dismay, was the callers blaming the councils. VD’s reaction was to say the councils must balance their budgets and make decisions that reflect tight budgets….isn’t that exactly what the Government is trying to do?

COMPARE AND CONTRAST – PART ONE.

Here’s one view on US unemployment;

The U.S. unemployment rate hit 10.3 percent in February, up from 9.8 percent at the end of January, according to the Gallup polling agency. The rate of those considered to be underemployed, meanwhile, reached 19.9 percent last month, up from 18.9 percent at the end of January, Gallup says. Results are based on a 30-day rolling average.

Here’s another;

The US unemployment rate fell slightly to 8.9% in February, down from 9% the month before. It is the third month in a row that the jobless rate has fallen, with February’s figure marking a near two-year low.

Can you GUESS which one of these comes from the BBC?
