FOX ON THE RUN…

It’s a question of priority, isn’t it? On the same day that dozens are killed in Egypt; that the huge Belgium bank Dexia becomes the latest multi billion casualty of the Euro-zone crisis; that Obama’s stormtroopers occupy Wall Street whilst defecating on Police Cars- what better story to LEAD the news with than Liam Fox and his “working relationship” with Adam Werritty? There was a an interview between John Humphrys and Conservative MP Greg Hands at 8.10am and the sneering tone adopted by the BBC interviewer was all too evident. Nick Robinson was also invited to join in the Fox hunt. It is obvious the BBC are delighting in this story since it is another win/win for them. They use it to imply Tory Sleaze is still there (despite any evidence) and hope that Cameron might move to get rid of the Thatcher endorsed Fox.

Fox has made a number of conservative-like comments since the coalition has been in power, so I’m sure Cameron will be desperate to get rid of him. I suspect he’d ideally like to replace him with Caroline Lucas, (if only there was a way!) but I guess he’ll probably have to settle for Charles Kennedy or Ming Campbell.

Frankly Liam Fox has been incredibly stupid and deserves what he gets, even if one can criticise the Beeb’s priorities.

The Tories aren’t the nasty party, and never were.  They’re the stupid party.

    Roland,

I rather agree. In this instance it is the prioritisation of the story, along with the sneering from Humphrys, that struck me.

When will the Tory Party go bent broadcaster hunting?  Tally ho!  Tally ho!

No, as Roland said, being he Stupid Party they’d sit on the horses the wrong way round and end up getting chased by the fox anyway.

If 20 or 30 Palis had been machine gunned by the IDF, and run over by military vehichles, the entire Muslkim world would be screaming massaacrrrr, genocide, holocaust. The BBC would be putting out this news 24 hours non-stop for weeks, with total confdemnation of Israel.

As it is, just Christians were gunned down. So what? These al Qaeda type Christians deserve no better.

The BBC have been rather light on Fox I think and we all know WHY. Come on why does the BBC keep saying he was Fox’s best man, to keep reminding us Fox is married, so why is that important then?

If Fox had taken some fit looking woman on business the press would be asking if he was shagging her, they wouldn’t hold back, here they are.

Laws got off lightly as well, if Laws had been straight and done what he did, he’d be on criminal charges.

If it turns out you’re right, will Today feature another segment of Evan Davis and Iain Dale winking and nudging about how it’s a non-story and the straights just don’t get it?

Actually I think Fox should go, he’s made a right twat of himself, why do politicians do this? Did he not think dragging around someone who isn’t his wife and givinig him access to his personal diary (and god knows what else to come out yet) etc wouldn’t create a stink?

The media must have been well aware of this for some time but sat on it, like I say if it had been a 23 year old blonde in a mini skirt the press would have been on him a long time ago.

I’m just amazed at how soft the BBC have been on this story, Dame Nikki didn’t do the phone in on it this morning, funny they were very soft on David Laws as well.

      Did he not think…”

That sums it up, Martin.  He didn’t think.  Not with his brains, anyway.  Paid-up member of the Stupid Party.
