OPEN THREAD

Morning folks. Just spent 45 minutes on BBC Nolan Show re my criticism of the Olympic Opening ceremony. I brought up the fact that Labour MP Paul Flynn had already tweeted it was a paean to Socialism. Nolan did not want to discuss this. Instead the plan was to paint me as the world’s biggest begrudger which was rather confounded when the first caller fully agreed with me. I feel Aidan Burley’s pain! Anyhoo –  a new open thread for you all whilst I go into a dark room and meditate.

In word and deed, the BBC seems to have handed over control of ‘news’ sourcing and sharing to the US social media fraternity. So I was interested in this: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/twitter/9442715/London-Olympics-2012-Twitter-admits-encouraging-commercial-partner-to-file-complaint-against-British-journalist.html

All the news you can trust, for free, with Aunty simply adding a £145.50 ‘cut’ on top. How very ‘unique’, if a wee bit of a worry on monopolistic control of our media that appears every bit on par with all concerns levelled at News Int. Guessing such behaviour is OK when it’s one of the family. In a Chicago sense, that is.

With all going on, what captures the Beeboid attention is always interesting. This from our Jezza: ‘Mum Denise tells @BBCRadio2 she got local police to lock her son in a cell after she caught him making a rude phone call to another child’ Sadly the lack of tonality in a post does not convey whether our hero felt Denise should be awarded for this or not.
