The Farron Fart…sorry, Backfire.

The BBC has been reporting loudly on UKIP’s fall today, contrast that with how they practically ignored UKIP when they won large in elections previously, and curiously the LibDems have hardly been mentioned today.  This is curious because, whilst UKIP’s fall could easily have been predicted and was much expected, Farron has been telling us that the LibDems are on the march and due to the army of unhappy Remain voters looking for a white knight to protect them from all those horrible little englanders would win large, but there’s no sign of such a revival…in fact the LibDems lost 32 seats.  But the BBC don’t seem too interested….in this main write up it’s passed over rapidly and in Kuenssberg’s ‘analysis’ I don’t think the LibDems even get a mention….oh no sorry…this is it, Laura’s insight into the LibDem debacle.‘a slightly frazzled atmosphere at Lib Dem homes this morning’.

When you consider how arrogant and contemptuous of democracy and Leave voters Farron is, a failure to pull the voters in might be expected.  Farron was very dismissive of callers on  a radio phone-in who complained of his characterisation of Leave voters as not knowing what they were voting for and that his call for a 2nd referendum was undemocratic as he was really attempting to stop Brexit…he laughed and sneered and said he was the real democrat…you can see that attitude in full colour in his latest bit of public relations as he smirks and bullies his way through an encounter…an encounter in which he said he knew what was good for the kids…as you can see in the photo above….

The BBC suffered so many blows today.
Farron’s abject failure should end all talk of a ‘progressive coalition ‘ to block Brexit and the Conservatives. The voters have spoken , yet again. Will the BBC finally accept democratic verdicts? I doubt it.
The surge in the Conservative vote in Scotland is also another great cause for celebration today although not in BBC land. I think that the tide is turning against the Poison Dwarf of the North and her band of racists and economic illiterates.

Water off a duck’s back. He is so convinced he is being really clever and appealing to the public he is oblivious to the derision with which people actually view him. What a totally stupid man.

Do you really mean he’s a gabbling, silly nonentity, General?

      I agree…!

But that’s what the LibDems are for, to take votes from similar sorts of dim-witted folk.

The local election results are a joy to behold, particularly in Scotland. There it looks like a small number of LibDems deserted to the Greens in a totally irrelevant sub-plot. The main story is that the Conservatives have made massive gains at the expense of everyone else. Krankie will still claim victory whilst inwardly getting very nervous about 8 June.

Farron will be back tomorrow – “We want another election. The people who voted for Conservatives didn’t know that they were voting for seats in local government!”

I’m longing to see somebody remind Minor Fart that nobody knew they were voting for a coalition government in 2010, a government of which he was a member. He has described the forthcoming GE a “a stitch-up by politicians…” which is precisely what the coalition was.

UKIP came about because there was a need for a patriotic party and a party that would stop uncontrolled immigration. The general public have indeed lent their vote to the tories ( I didn’t ), but in absolutely no way are the tories patriotic or against immigration as May’s history shows us all to well.
If the tories do not deliver on the EU as we demand or immigration controls as we demand they will suffer, as we have now passed the days of blind allegiance to the ‘traditional’ parties. They could just as easily reap a backlash as quick as they have been given great support. So I hope UKIP can re organize and keep their powder dry as this isn’t over yet.
You can’t destroy an idea, and because of the internet many have woken up and have new ideas that are not represented in the media or main political parties.
The tories are very fortunate and they squander our votes at their peril, or they could very quickly go the way of Labour and the LibDems.

Carswell today.. what an odious slimey little turd that man is.

And, highly likely, a ‘Fifth Columnist’ within UKIP.

I suspect a string of ‘Fifth Columnists’ have been planted in UKIP – by Labour, by the Conservatives, by others – for some years. The Party leadership either did not realise or did not have the time and/or resources and Party cohesion to deal with them. May explain why the transition from the leadership of Farage to another leader has been so difficult for them.

You’re right and it isn’t the first time someone has pointed it out. ‘Global’s Newsroom’, as they insist on calling. it is clearly staffed by the same Guardianistas as the BBC;s.

Yes, “practically ignored”; I’ve practically never seen Nigel Farage ever on the BBC in the last twenty years.

“Smirking”? I suppose you could interpret it that way if you had a form of Autism, but; “bullying”?

Earth to Alan; “You ok hun?

Oh by the way, you forgot to mention gays, blacks & muslims. Perhaps next time…

“bullying” – yes. As the man put his point over that he knew what he voted for and that said voters were told that they did not know what they were voting for, Farron repeatedly said: “Who said that?” in an arrogant manner.

maxi, took me a couple of goes but I think I have managed to decode your post.

I, too, found the tone used and the order priority set by BBC News of the Local Election results yesterday was notable. Might not have couched it in quite the same terms and way as Alan did, but there you are. I suggest you go back and listen to just the TODAY Programme and WatO and the News at 6pm on BBC Radio 4.

Look for what or who is not mentioned. Who is mentioned first and the language used. Who or what is mentioned last or not at all.

Note the order of the Parties in the both the headlines and the later reports of the results. Then think back to past elections.

Compare and contrast, as ‘they’ say.

      Very interesting.

Obviously way over your head, taffman; but keep on practising with those ellipses. Perhaps you’ll progress to using letters and number symbols sometime soon.

He’s almost as bad as Clegg.

Ah, the actual figures are worse for the ineffectual Lib Dems than you have indicated in your graphic above. Here are the final results as reported by the BBC, so they must be true. As you can see the Lib Dems fight back achieved a LOSS of 42 seats.

    Farron`s just an empty windsock.
That any major political organ might think HIM to be a winner, only tells you how effete, limpdick and redundant their ruling elite actually are.
At least Cyril Smith could enfold you in his flaps, Oaten would seek to wipe your grannys arse and keep the Kangas to take home. But Farron (A. Fart Minor as known at Bedales)…well, at least Jihadi John left a greasy stain on the sand when he was blown back to hell. Farron is just lavender vapour from Jeremy Thorpes last Odoreater.
But the BBC seem to need his thimbly presence in order to “dare to dream”.
Only shows how much trouble the BBC are in doesn`t it?
    UKIP -delapsus resurgam!

I live in Cumbria and have noticed in my travels that the only places sporting Lib Dem placards are wealthy areas in the lakes district, these people are old hippies, but still too posh to support Labour or the Greens.

  15. Doublethinker says:

I have no time for Farron but if the Lib Dems had a more effective leader they could easily quadruple the number of MPs they have by capturing a lot of the Remain vote. We should also remember that most the local elections took place in Leave voting areas at the GE the LDs will do better in the Remain areas. So despite Farron being a Pratt I can see the t hem getting 20 seats at least.
Also this point about Remain areas not being well represented at the local elections is why some commentators are predicting a Tory majority of only 50 or so. This is enough to cement Brexit but it won’t be the knockout blow for the Remoaners I was hoping for. To destroy any lingering validity in the Remoaners claims of lack of a mandate for a hard Brexit , a majority of 100 plus will be needed and even that won’t shut these noisy buggers up. Fingers crossed that the Tories manage to achieve this and more.
As for Labour they will split into a hard left group and a soft left group which will join the LDs and Greens to form this Progressive Alliance so beloved by the BBC. The key aim will be to soften Brexit with a view to rejoining the EU at some future date .The corporation will give them endless airtime and non stop promotion and at the next GE in 2022 there will be wall to wall coverage. We can expect a few Tories like Sourberry and Clark to join and For Blair and Pantsdown to become the wise men and even for Miliband D and Balls to make a come back. Clegg will become leader and Farron will be palmed off with something or other. A key question will be if those Labour MPs elected on the Labour ticket but who jump ship resign their seat and fight a by election. Same goes for Sourberry et al assuming she is reelected in the first place. You can imagine the BBC endlessly telling us that the PA is composed of people for centre right and centre left who all believe in the EU and Globalisation. The EU will probably find a way to fund them because the unions won’t. The hard left may give them a taste of intimidation and abuse like they gave UKIP. The struggle between hard and soft left will be entertaining and potentially damaging to the PA.
Of course cutting the BBC down to size would make life for the PA much harder.

One of these days Tim Farron’s mum will blow her top. He knows he’s not allowed out during the week. All that schoolwork and homework going wanting. If you ask me, I would suggest he waits until he’s 16 or ‘school leaving age’ as I understand it’s called now and then, if he really wants to be the leader of the Liberal Democrats, an unappealing party, maybe more liberal than democratic and totally devoid of any relevance in today’s society he should ask his mum if it’s OK before applying for the job.
