Just what was it that made the BBC sit up and think…James O’Brien, he’s the man the BBC needs?

Rabidly anti-Farage, anti-Brexit, anti-Right leaning Press, anti-Trump, anti-Tory…just the man for BBC Newsnight….a man who doesn’t have a clue what he is talking about and is so corrupt and dishonest he probably doesn’t care…..look at how he spins events in Rochdale and Rotherham  [and so many other places] in his latest rant…

“Everything now is tribal and binary, absolutely everything, even rape allegations. That comes to its natural apotheosis with the grooming gangs in Rotherham.

“Somehow child abuse is more egregious when it is committed by a brown person than when it is committed by a white person. There’s a word for that.”

Ah yes….the problem is that those who had issues with Pakistani Muslims raping and abusing young white girls are racists for saying so….never mind that the inquiry said that it was these Pakistani Muslims who were the racists….the issue being that they chose their victims because they were white and non-Muslim….white trash as they defined them.  They were the racists.  The issue was….

 “a deep-rooted problem of Pakistani-heritage perpetrators targeting young white girls”.

It’s a pity that James O’Brien doesn’t understand what was going on and why there was an issue with the men’s particular choice of target.

O’Brien then goes on to say that Trump is also a racist….really?   On what evidence does he base that conclusion on?  Oh, he wants to control immigration and thinks that the problem of Muslim terrorism might actually stem from Muslims and thus it might be sensible to rigorously check who comes into the America from countries of concern [as defined by Obama] which happen to be Muslim.  And never mind that Clinton was just as hardcore on immigration and ‘wall building’….

“I voted numerous times when I was a senator to spend money to build a barrier to try to prevent illegal immigrants from coming in,” Clinton said “and I do think that you have to control your borders.”

“As president, I will not support driver’s licenses for undocumented people and will press for comprehensive immigration reform that deals with all of the issues around illegal immigration, including border security and fixing our broken system.”

In a 2003 interview with WABC radio in New York, she declared: “I am, you know, adamantly against illegal immigrants.”

James O’Brien gave a simple explanation for the lack of coverage of tax avoidance allegations, the avoiders own the newspapers.

The Paradise Papers purport to detail the tax affairs of some of the wealthiest people and companies on the planet.

They reportedly reveal the exploitation of offshore schemes to avoid tax.

James O’Brien said journalists would love to pursue tax avoidance stories but they also liked being paid and, when your boss is avoiding tax, push comes to shove.

“Then we come back to Britain where he have voted to undertake Brexit in large part at the behest of non-domiciled billionaires like Lord Ashcroft and the two brothers who own the Telegraph, who have their own Channel Island. They also own the Ritz.

“Then you’ve got the owner of the Daily Mail who inherited his non-domicile status from his own father. This is incredible.

“And if you’re wondering why there are so few journalists covering this stuff, the answer is really, really simple.

“We’ve got bills to pay, we’ve got mortgages to pay. We can’t go after our pay masters, in a way that many journalists would like to.

“And why can’t we? Because they actually own this stuff. They own publishing companies, polling companies and newspapers.”

Here’s the hypocrisy…he says the owners of the media suppress talk of tax avoidance…and yet here he is talking about tax avoidance…and the papers he speaks of are full of stories on tax avoidance.  He ironically complained that the right-wing Press are attacking the Elites and yet he says they won’t attack them because they are the Elite themselves.

Any thought that O’Brien doesn’t have a clue what he is on about and just rants on based upon what he thinks will go down well with his new chums at the Guardian and the BBC regardless of truth, facts, accuracy, impartiality and honesty?

The BBC’s pension fund has shares in BP and Facebook….both companies deal with the Russians….Russia owns Facebook shares.  Does that ‘relationship’ mean the BBC is in hock to the Kremlin?  Has the BBC been funding Russian sponsored ‘fake news’ via Facebook?….LOL…and of course Apple, another BBC investment, is probably the world’s biggest tax avoider….not to mention the appalling tax dodging [according to the BBC] Amazon.  I imagine we could just go on and on and on…the BBC no doubt won’t say a word about its own dodgy investments as it castigates others for their ‘immoral’ choices….and supposed links to Russia.

 

There’s been several occasions when Corbyn has been on PMQs and his questions have been based on a BBC programme yet to be broadcast.  I’m absolutely sure there is no collusion and no coordination.  None at all.

Corbyn raised tax avoidance and the BBC has been going hammer and tongs at it all day today…most of it complete rubbish….they mention the Queen and ‘her’ investments and tell us that of course nothing illegal has been done nor is there any suggestion that she has evaded tax…however, they ask, is it right what she does?

Since when has the BBC been appointed the moral arbiter of what is right or wrong in the world?  Not sure that is in its charter and yet it seems to have taken the task of overseeing our morality to itself.

The language the BBC uses shows that this is not just straight reporting  but an attempt to whip up as much anger, fury, indignation and hostility towards ‘the Rich’ as possible….in line with Corbyn and McDonnell’s aim.

We hear of ‘highly secret documents’, that the ‘Rich and powerful’ have ‘secret investments’, that there is a ‘secret British empire’ out there…and of course…nothing illegal…but is it right?  The news kept quoting some activist who told us that ‘those of us who are left behind are paying the taxes that keep this country running for these people to use and they are not paying taxes’.   Hmmmmm…that’s just not true….the Rich have been soaked for money since the crash….it is well known outside the BBC that they pay massive amounts of tax…and the less well off have benefitted from vastly increased tax allowances taking many out of tax altogether.

The richest 1 per cent of income taxpayers pay over a quarter of all income tax; the top 10 per cent pay 60 per cent of the total.

And the Institute for Fiscal Studies shows that about 90% of income tax is paid by the 50% of taxpayers with the highest incomes.  So that leaves just 10% of income tax being paid by the lower earners completely demolishing John McDonnell’s lie at the election…

What’s missing from the BBC’s reporting?  No menton of who ‘leaked’ these documents.  It could well have been Russia and yet nothing from the BBC….Corbyn is closely linked to Russia and has a great interest in having such documents published…and yet nothing from the BBC.  Why would Russia do such a thing?  By releasing these documents it sets the cat amongst the pigeons and increases the hostility towards the Establishment and the rich and powerful in the country thus giving Corbyn a means to attack them and present himself as the champion of the ‘left behind’.  Russia trying to influence our Democracy?  Russia trying to put Corbyn into No10?

The BBC in contrast is quick to attack an American Trump official who it claimed is linked to ‘The Kremlin’ via his business connections.  Unfortunately that turned out to be complete hokum…the man disclosed his business dealings before hsi appointment and his business dealings turn out to be that he holds some shares in a company with Russian owners.  The BBC’s Kemal Ahmed interviewed him and suggested that there was ‘something improper’ in the Commerce Secretary ‘gaining’ from a relationship with Russia.  But of course there was nothing improper…it was just business, not illegal, there were no sanctions against the company….half of europe gets their gas from Russia….from the state controlled Gazprom…and BP has signed a deal with Rosneft to bring more gas to Europe.  Who owns London’s Evening Standard?  A Russian whose ‘oligarch’ father was in the KGB and  lives alongside Putin in Moscow.

Today Lebedev divides his time between Russia and the UK. His main residence is in the Moscow suburb of Rublyovka where most of Russia’s power elites have their dachas. “It’s where Putin lives, too”, he remarked.  Nobody really knows whether he is pro or anti-Putin.

But Kemal didn’t stop there even when the man had convincingly proved his case and his innocence.  Ahmed wanted to know if he agreed or understood that people would be uncomfortable that he has a relationship with Russia….except of course he has no ‘relationship’ with Russia…just some shares in a company.  Ahmed then wanted to know if he would consider getting rid of his shares due to the way this [controversy] has been covered [by the Media] and had damaged his reputation.  So the Media has run a smear campaign against this guy and tried to suggest he is some sort of Russian agent and Ahmed thinks it is his fault and that he should sell his shares to prove his innocence?  Bizarre but shows how the BBC thinks…..they just want to link Trump to Russia anyway possible regardless of facts.

Odd how the BBC completely ignores the fact that Obama let the Russians buy 20% of America’s Uranium business and that Clinton was paid over $100 million dollars by the Russians [never mind all that loot from the Saudis…possiby more dangerous than the Russians]…..but a Trump official with some shares in a Russian company is hung out to dry by the BBC and fellow travellers?  Talk about preposterous and a lack, deliberate, of proportion and priority.

London is awash with Russian money, often from highly dubious sources….does the BBC attack anyone who has shares in Chelsea FC or a season ticket…are they part of Putin’s secret army?   I imagine if you traced where that money went in Britain half the country would be having a ‘relationship with the Kremlin’ by the BBC’s logic.

British companies do business with Russian companies all the time, investments are made with Russian companies, we have military adventures in the Middle East alongside the Russians…..I’d bet there are many links between the BBC and Russia should we look hard enough.

The desire to make and shout loudly about very tenuous connections between certain individuals and the Russians is of course a highly political choice by the BBC…intended to keep up the narrative that Trump is only President because the Russians put him there…thus he is not a legitimate President…thus he should go.  It is the same narrative with Brexit….we see the BBC and the Remain Media are starting to create a whole story about Brexit being the result of Russian propaganda and thus the referendum was not legitimate and needs to be rerun. Pure propaganda.

Monday morning arrives and so does the latest BBC/Guardian nothing burger about the Royals using “tax havens”. Can’t wait for the BBC to cover the Guardian’s Cayman Islands tax haven. Utter garbage from the comrades to start their week of bias.

The Paradise Papers show that about £10m ($13m) of the Queen’s private money was invested offshore.
It was put into funds in the Cayman Islands and Bermuda by the Duchy of Lancaster, which provides the Queen with an income and handles investments for her £500m private estate.

I applaud the BBC for putting this not only as the top story, but as a full page spread on the BBC News homepage. It’s HUGE news. Oh wait a minute, Elizabeth II is the monarch of both Bermuda and the Cayman Islands, and this is just another republican propaganda campaign by the BBC.

The BBC is a state controlled broadcaster…the question is controlled by which state?  The BBC clearly does all it can to undermine the British state, its power and influence and works assiduously against British interests.  Who benefts from all this?  Russia?  Are the old Trots and Marxists now in control at the BBC serving their Russian master’s interests as they promote ‘Internationalism’ and of course try to help hard-line Marxist Jeremy Corbyn into No10?

Is there a convoluted trail of Russian Roubles leading from the Kremlin coffers into Nick Robinson’s bank account?  One may have thought so judging by his eagerness to help spread confusion and doubt about Brexit and the recent election as he asserted confidently on Friday’s Today show that they had been won by Russian influence and subterfuge…a nice double bluff on his part….seemingly arguing against Russia whilst actually promoting their interests in making Brexit a debacle and reducing Britain to a chaotic and ungovernable state should the ‘Elite’ manage to thwart Brexit and Britain then implodes into, they hope, civil war of some kind.  The BBC is part of that ‘Elite’ and is working hard to undermine Brexit regardless of the consequences.  The BBC has worked hand-in-hand with the Remain supporting Times to paint Brexit as a catastrophe that must be reversed, an event that would cause untold chaotic disaster way beyond anything the ‘catastrophe’ of Brexit could ever bring, any coincidence that days after Robinson declares Brexit was won by Putin the Sunday Times has as its main story the very same claim?

The BBC has long worked the line that Trump won the Presidency thanks to Putin…however, in complete contradiction to that analysis, they also claim that the Trump dossier is credible because it came from ‘credible’ Russian intelligence sources….so explain how the Russians, whom the BBC tells us want Trump as President, were also working against him by providing salacious ‘dirt’ on him that suggests he is a victim of Russian blackmail?  If Russia was involved in US politics, and why not, it always has been, it would seem they are more interested in destabilising the US than in getting a particular person into the White House.  This is the Russia, ignored by the BBC oddly, that also funded Clinton to the tune of hundreds of millions, Clinton who funded the ‘research’ into the Dodgy Dossier that was filled with Russian misinformation and lapped up by the BBC as the truth.  The BBC doing Putin’s dirty work?  Seems so.

The BBC is now declaring that ‘Calexit’ and the Catalan independence movement are really Russian intelligence operations….Putin must be loving it…the BBC promoting the idea of an all powerful Russia shaping the world.

Nick Robinson is one of Putin’s useful idiot fellow travellers…surely?  Let’s not forget this is the man who warned his colleagues not to write damaging, criticial reports on Corbyn….

Nick Robinson tackles anti-Corbyn bias at the BBC

Over the weekend the BBC’s former political editor confessed — in an interview in the Sunday Times — that he had written to several BBC colleagues over concerns that the corporation’s political coverage is biased against Jeremy Corbyn. When asked by Lynn Barber whether he was ‘shocked’ by the way the BBC ‘rubbish Jeremy Corbyn’, Robinson replied ‘yes’:

‘Yes. Oddly, although I was off work, I did drop a note to a few people after his first weekend saying this is really interesting and we owe it to the audience to sound as if we’re interested.’

In fact, Robinson — who was the president of the Oxford University Conservative Association during his time as a student — appears to be rather enamoured with the new Labour leader, attending a Corbyn rally just for fun:

‘Even though I was off work, I was so frustrated that I couldn’t cover Corbyn’s election, I took myself off to a Corbyn rally. My wife thought I was very sad, but I thought, I’ve got to go and see this for myself!’

People can say what they like on stage, but what annoys me is that when comics talk about religion, the writing is often lazy and not very intelligent. Worst of all, it’s not very funny.

Well yes….shame he doesn’t actually listen to his own advice…..read on about the good Muslim Tez Ilyas.

His comedy is left-wing and from the point of view of an Asian Muslim with a chip on his shoulder about Empire and the injustices of Muslims being under suspicion for some reason he can’t fathom…it’s so unfair.  You might get the impression this is just him regurgitating what is said at the dinner table at home in the ‘community’.  He tells us benefits are ‘reparations’ [for empire] and that Lancashire is ‘Allah’s own country’.  His show is based upon converting the infidel to Islam…a mock conversion attempt…but not really mock is it?  He moans…

Ilyas wonders why he has been made to feel like an outsider in the country he’s called home from day one

Hmmm….maybe because that is what your own community has told you, Islam having ‘apartheid’ tendencies and because members of your community have been bombing, stabbing, running down non-Muslims in order to ensure ‘Islam will reign supreme’…as Muhammed instructed….and oddly enough the non-Muslims don’t like it.

Which brings us onto why we have a post on him.

He appeared on The Now Show to launch an attack on Poppy Day telling us he would not wear the Poppy because it had been hijacked by the Far-Right.  I might suggest he won’t wear a Poppy one, because he might get his head kicked in if he walked down his own road…..

But let’s think about his claimed reasoning…he won’t wear a Poppy because the Far-Right have hijacked it for their own cause…..well OK…..he also tells us ISIS etc aren’t real Muslims and they have hijacked his religion….do I need to go on?

Logically therefore he must also refuse to be a Muslim anymore…Poppies hijacked…not wear Poppy…Islam hijacked…not be a Muslim….yes?  No.  Don’t be silly…..instead he looks like he is becoming evermore devout and openly religious and vocally ‘Muslim’.

Hypocrite.

He tells us Farage and Katie Hopkins can shove their Poppies up their nationalist arses and that millions of Muslims fought for Britain against Fascist Nazi scum….linking Farage to that….presumably he also includes all those Brexit voters in there as well…he is of course against Brexit.

Er….in reality those Muslims threatened to fight for those Nazi Scum if they didn’t get a promise from the British of their own Muslim nation….let’s remember that as Muslims scream and shout about Balfour…..so maybe he should shove Islam up his nationalist arse?  Let’s also remember he’s only Muslim because the Arabs conquered and colonised India and forcibly converted so many Indians to Islam….so if he wants to talk about imperialism and violence let him start with that.  Tez Ilyas….a man who grovels on his knee five times a day to an Arab god in the direction of Mecca….the Arab centre of Empire….and he whinges about the British Empire!  Shouldn’t the brainwashed Tez break free from his subjugation by this Arab religion and return to his real roots….Hinduism or Buddhism if he is so opposed to Imperialism?

The real shame is that the BBC thinks it is lovely and diverse to nurture and support this man’s anti-British extremism, and perhaps worse that the audience were cheering as he ‘spat’ on the Poppy.

Anyone have the feeling that it is not beyond the realms of possibility and parody that Osborne gets offered the job  by a shameless and desperate anti-Brexit BBC?

Trump in the White House, Corbyn closing in on No10….who can say it will never happen?  After all how the hell did James O’Brien get the job on Newsnight?  Because he demonstrated his post-truth interview style as he set up the anti-Farage kangaroo court-come lynching….which happily Farage saw off quite easily as most of it was half truths and made up nonsense.

Could the BBC resist having a similarly machiavellian and journalistically corrupt person such as Osborne at the helm as he tries to sink Brexit?

Guido put Osborne up there as a joke…but scarily it’s one that could all too easily become real.

The BBC still bashing Trump….yesterday Today wheeled in an Obama official to get her opinion on Trump [08:40]…

At least eight people have been killed and 11 seriously hurt in New York after the driver of a truck mowed down people on a cycle path in Lower Manhattan. Juliette Kayyem is former US assistant secretary of Homeland Security.

John Humphrys asked her what she thought of Trump’s reaction to the attack….apparently his reaction is ‘troubling and dark’ and is solely aimed at whipping up anti-Muslim hysteria with his base….as we can see from the countries he targeted for a travel ban.

Humphrys allowed her to rant away and said nothing at all…..never mind the countries chosen were the same countries Obama, with possibly her advice, named as ‘countries of concern’ and Trump’s wish to ban or double check certain people seems ever more justified.

Just listening to ‘Up All Night’ now and Trump is under attack again….he has brought corruption to the White House…how?….some of his ‘oligarch’ appointees have used private jets….er….so did Obama’s…

Flight furor: Obama officials also took pricey, non-commercial planes

The use of private planes by President Trump’s Cabinet has come under intense media scrutiny in recent days, but officials in the Obama administration also took pricey flights on the government’s dime, including for personal trips.

Top figures during President Barack Obama’s tenure who used non-commercial planes for travel included then-attorney generals Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch, then-FBI director Robert Mueller, and then-CIA director and defense secretary Leon Panetta. 

Who knew Obama was therefore so corrupt?

We then heard that there was great shock that Shia Iran has been found to fund and support Al Qaeda, a Sunni organisation, as the CIA releases AQ documents captured from the raid on Bin Laden.   Just how far behind the news are these people the BBC wheels in to bring us ‘up to date’?

Iran has long been labelled a terrorist sponsor and has been supporting the Sunni Taliban against British troops for years and Shia groups in Iraq.  But it has been known to harbour Al Qaeda since at least 2011…

Since July 2011, the US Treasury and State Departments have repeatedly stated that the Iranian regime allows al Qaeda to maintain a key facilitation network on its soil. This formerly clandestine network is the result of a specific “agreement” between the Iranian government and al Qaeda’s leadership.

On July 19, the State Department once again pointed to the relationship. “Since at least 2009,” State’s Country Reports on Terrorism 2016 reads, “Iran has allowed AQ facilitators to operate a core facilitation pipeline through the country, enabling AQ to move funds and fighters to South Asia and Syria.”

Iran  has been supporting Hamas, a Sunni group, for a long time…so why the big surprise about Al Qaeda?

Mishal Husain called the Israeli ‘Wall’ a ‘security barrier’ [08:35] and accused Palestinians of killing Israeli civilians….men, women and children…..shocked outrage from the Palestinian being interviewed.  Maybe if the BBC had adopted such a more two-sided and balanced approach in all its reporting about Israel the peace might have been given more of a chance as the Palestinians weren’t given licence to attack the Israeli ‘oppressors’…so long so labelled by the BBC.

Anyway…new open thread, I’m sure the BBC hasn’t turned over a new leaf on every subject….if not list it all here…..
