Those pompous grey men in grey suits, who like to be considered ”grandees,” have zero awarness of the membership’s raw anger at how they have collectively inflicted a level of self harm to the Tory Party not seen since Howe and Hesiltine toppled Margeret Thatcher…

    • Beltane says:

Little doubt that self-styled arch-grandee Heseltine played his part in stoking the anger. His arrogance simply confirms his own sense of self-importance, while the BBC provide enough airtime to ensure we understand what a sad loss to statesmanship his fading years have been.

Made his money in publishing you know, much like Murdoch, Hearst and Maxwell. Coincidence?

      In the interests of fairness.

I once attended a Buckingham Palace investiture.

It was mainly full of public sector worthies getting gongs basically for turning up for work.

Amid all this utter dross there was a minor award (MBE I think) to a gent ‘for services to the meat industry’.

There was an audible patronising guffaw from the intelligentsia in the audience. It was disgusting.

Truss does herself no favours in this famous clip but there is no shame in principle in promoting our trade overseas, even the meat industry.

We’ve got too many gambling shops in our town centres (London 2015). Elect me (Sadiq Khan) to be the London Mayor and we’ll sort all those three things out. {metro.co.uk aug2015}”

…. compare Mr. Khan with a man speaking from 3000 years ago, in the desert ….
“O ye who believe! Intoxicants and gambling, (dedication of) stones, and (divination by) arrows, are an abomination…” – Qur’an 5v90

Who is in charge of 7000+ pubs in London in 2017?

… wait, Sadiq Khan spoke at the Chicken Cottage Awards in 2012 …
“Here’s the beautiful thing … these are British products, selling Islamic Products, selling Halal Products (Halal – throat cut whilst conscious, slaughtered by Muslim only employee, incantation to animal from a Koran by Muslim only). That is niche and general, but it’s gone main stream. {Sadiq Khan – youtube Chicken Cottage Award Ceremony 2012}”

        – Mayor in charge of 7000+ pubs of London with moral conflict with his religion?
        – Mayor in charge of betting shops of London with moral conflict with his religion?
        – Mayor promises fewer chicken shops (2017) but was promoting more Halal chicken production (2012)!
        – Mayor promotes Halal food process – which is positive discrimination for Muslims! {halalfoodauthority.com}

Not BBC related but a perfect example of the contempt, arrogance and sense of entitlement a certain segment of society have for us ‘Deplorables’….and surely this is Emily Maitlis’ mother…..skim through but watch it all from 51 mins right to the end…..

    • Beltane says:

Not quite the full video pugz.

Blackscreen conclusion confirms that Ms Turner’s bravura performance was not entirely appreciated by her Port Authority employers.

After a full enquiry she was asked to find employment elsewhere.

      Loved the Maitless mother line.

      • Beltane says:

Sorry pugz, just checked and they’ve deleted the end credits from that tape – perhaps the truth infringed her human rights?

Go to ‘Port Authority official resigns after foul-mouth tirade at NJ cops…’ for delightful denoument.

    • StewGreen says:

That’ a 4 year old video
Caren Z. Turner, a Democratic lobbyis
resigned as a commissioner from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey,
Turner’s resignation allegedly involved her intervention in a recent traffic stop in connection with her daughter
She flashed her Port Authority badge in an effort to intercede with police officers on the scene.
After her tirade with Tenafly police, former Port Authority commissioner Caren Turner went to the Tenafly police headquarters to ask about the impounded car.

      There’ a much shorter video
She’s not THE the Port Authority commissioner

she’s just one of the 12 as a commissioner from the Port Authority
She was however head of an ETHICS committee ha ha

      – narrowboats?

The local health bureaucrats around here have been putting medicated mental patients onto canal boats on the Kennet & Avon canal for 10+ years – with “mixed results”.

There were putting them into housing association properties and creating nutjob ghettos – but the pushback from determined + fedup neighbors made them change tactics.

      • BigBrotherCorporation says:

You’re local to me, I think Tomo… the ‘mental patients’ in question mostly appear to be druggies, and a (very real) threat to passersby using the towpath.

        • tomo says:

In my experience the druggies are more often than not the “put upon” neighbors.

One incident that I’m aware of did combine the two … a MH patient enjoyed booze and drugs more than meds “fell off his trolley” leading to a naked knife wielding incident with threats to female boaties…

I do not know if medicated MH peeps are still being given canal boats d/t the reluctance of housing associations to accommodate them – but around 8 years ago it was certainly “a thing”… these are not your average dope smoker.

  8. pugnazious says:

LOL….but it’s Boris who is the liar…..and so must go….

‘Starmer has used a circle-jerking appearance on Alastair Campbell and Rory Stewart’s centrist dad podcast to call Boris a “complete bullsh*ter” who “took the piss out of the public” over Partygate.

“There was a general realisation that ‘this guy bullsh*ts, and if he’s bullsh*tting about that he’s probably bullsh*tting about everything.”

Guido won’t bother reiterating that Starmer lied through his teeth to win the leadership and has since broken every single one of his 10 pledges. Nor that he backed Remain, then promised to honour the result of the referendum, then spent 3 years trying to scrap Brexit, and now claims to be as pro-Brexit as the ERG.’

It was always the accepted, received wisdom, that politicians are untrustworthy, lying toerags….however since Boris came to Office the BBC has made out that prior to this it was golden age of honesty and integrity…much like ‘fake news’ was invented by Trump, again according to the BBC….the word ‘propaganda’ never appeared in the dictionary pre-Trump.

It was always the accepted, received wisdom, that journalists are untrustworthy, lying toerags…nothing’s changed there.

It was a reminder of how feared and hated nut nut is . I can be a bit soft – sort expecting some acknowledgement for what nut achieved – principally to flush the previous toilet into the sewer it deserved – including the vile speaker – and thereafter achieving some form of Brexit .

But there are still far too many dreaming of a return to the EU …
For some reason the current speaker gave question after question to the SNP – I think I counted 6 – can you guess what one question those repulsive creatures asked again and again .. ?
Liz Truss sat and looked unwell to me – and at the end the Tory party clapped the PM out the door ….

  12. pugnazious says:

The EU keen to start another war…or maybe just hand over Taiwan?….from The Telegraph…..the BBC hasn’t reported this yet for some reason….

‘The European Union’s newly appointed ambassador to Beijing has stoked controversy before taking up his post by saying Taiwan should be part of China.

Jorge Toledo Albiñana said the EU supports the “peaceful reunification” of Taiwan with China, a controversial ambition of Beijing that would likely involve invasion of the prized island.

Mr Albiñana, who takes up his post in September, told Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia: “The EU does not defend the independence of Taiwan, rather a peaceful reunification. We believe there should be one China.”

Taiwan’s foreign ministry hit back on Tuesday, denouncing the ambassador-designate’s remarks.

“Taiwan has never been part of the People’s Republic of China. The sovereignty of Taiwan belongs only to all the people of Taiwan, and only the people of Taiwan can decide the future of Taiwan,” said spokesperson Joanne Ou.

“It is also a peace-loving and mature democratic country and shares values of freedom, democracy and human rights with the European Union,” she said, adding that Taiwan was not subordinate to China.’

    • MarkyMark says:

Maybe China could join the EU?

      EU enlargement
Enlargement policy applies to countries currently aspiring to join the EU and potential candidates. The prospect of membership is a powerful stimulus for democratic and economic reforms in countries that want to become EU members.

foster peace and stability in regions close to the EU’s borders
help improve the quality of people’s lives through integration and cooperation across borders
increase prosperity and opportunities for European businesses and citizens
guide, support and monitor changes in countries wishing to join the European Union in line with EU values, laws and standards

In major first, EU triggers power to cut Hungary’s funds over rule-of-law breaches
The historic step sends a warning to other countries. The outcome will help determine how that warning is received.

    • BigBrotherCorporation says:

Maybe the People’s Republic of China (sic) should be reunified under Taiwanese rule?

Considering the Taiwanese government predates that of the ROC, that would be the logical and sensible decision, and one which I’m sure would get mass support within the ‘People’s Republic’, especially in Xinjiang, Tibet, and Hong Kong.

On 23 November, Ethiopia’s Fana Television broadcast a 50 second-long segment of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed speaking in what appeared to be the national parliament. BBC Monitoring reported that the PM had said the Tigray operation would continue “no matter who dies”, based on a comment in the recording. We later established that the clips were not current and did not refer to the Tigray situation.

We have since deleted the tweet.

“I want to use the last few seconds to give some words of advice to my successor whoever he or she may be.

“Stay close to the Americans, stick up for the Ukrainians, stick up for freedom and democracy everywhere.

“Cut taxes and deregulate wherever you can to make this the greatest place to live and invest. I love the Treasury, but remember, if we’d always listened to the Treasury we wouldn’t have built the M25 or the Channel Tunnel.

“Focus on the road ahead but always remember to check the rear view mirror. And remember above all, it’s not Twitter that counts. It’s the people that sent us here.

“The last few years have been the greatest privilege of my life and it’s true that I helped to get the biggest Tory majority for 40 years and a huge realignment in UK politics.

“We’ve transformed our democracy and restored our national independence. I’ve helped to get this country through the pandemic and helped save another country from barbarism.

“And frankly that’s enough to be going on with. Mission largely accomplished for now.

I want to thank you Mr Speaker, I want to thank all the wonderful staff at the House of Commons, I want to thank all my friends and colleagues, I want to thank my right honourable friend opposite, Mr Speaker and, I want to thank everybody here and…

One of the things I find most repugnant about modern ‘internet culture’ is the tendency for (virtual?) mobs to form and hound anyone who (or is it whom?) dares to speak out, or disagree. The BBC often seem to be in the thick of it in this country, and quite happy to pile on with the other cyber bullies against anyone who dares to question any of their pet subjects… re: ‘climate change’, for example…

“The mayor has advised Londoners not to have BBQs in parks or private gardens due to concerns about the risk of grass setting alight.”
I think StewGreen often remarks here that the news is merely what the media reports. The picture below was taken by me five years ago at a local Open Space, I post it only for illustrative purposes. On a hot, sunny day the people pictured have decided that the shady spaces under the trees are the place for them, as you can see from the smoke they saw no danger in setting up their BBQs beneath the low branches. It might be instructive to know that, on the outskirts of North London, NONE of these people were English speakers.
I suspect accidents caused by this sort of thing happen a lot, but don’t make the news.
Yesterday’s fires a case of ‘play stupid games, win stupid prizes?’

Wed 20th Nov 1974, 21:00 on BBC Two England
A global investigation into the Earth’s changing climate.
Written by Nigel Calder . Introduced by Magnus Magnusson . Narrated by Eric Porter

1974 has been a bad year for weather, with disastrous floods and droughts, a failed monsoon in India, unprecedented tornadoes in America, a dismal summer and unseasonable gales in Europe.
The machine that makes the world’s weather is changing gear – and the shift is downward, against mankind. The smallest change means loss of life in flood or drought, and the wholesale destruction of crops. For us, the price of food goes up; for millions more, it brings hunger or starvation. In the background looms the threat of ice, and the obliteration of northern lands – including Britain.

Europe is in an energy crisis today the EU has instructed all states to reduce their gas consumption by 15%, presumably so they can feed it to Germany who deserve the mess they are in.

Britain is not in an energy crisis, not because our political elites were somehow any better, but through sheer dumb luck they hadn’t been able to wreck it yet.

Now we have an amazing opportunity to tempt continental industry to the UK by offering them continual power for their production.

Only the Blue Labour lot won’t because industry and jobs don’t matter to Socialists who see everything through the prism of nationalised industry and cannot conceive of the concept of a larger private sector.

Love a sense of humour … I wonder if there is a website which logs the opening of coal powered fire stations around the world – I bet it would be busy – I hope . Burn baby burn ….

  35. Thoughtful says:

Probably going to be the case in 2023 as well.

  36. Halifax says:

No mention of England playing Spain in the women’s quarter final on the BBC news page.

Anybody got any ideas why ?

  37. Guest Who says:

    Newsnight’s finest.

    • BigBrotherCorporation says:

“Keir Starmer is going to be the next PM”

Ha ha ha ha!… it’s not comedy?! … oh.

      • StewGreen says:

It’s 2 year to any election, so who knows
This country is a banana republic
and there is hardly any difference between the Red/Blue Islington globalist socialist, open border, green dreamer, woke-supremacist, free-spending . parties

  38. Tabs says:

BBC2 “Unvaccinated” programme with Hannah Fry was a hit piece to make the unvaxxed people look like idiots.

    Seem to have backfired already

    • StewGreen says:

      Idiot goes on mainstream media
and found they were MORE manipulative & unfair than she anticipated
And is getting her complaint in before she has seen the prog

      • tomo says:

I hope there’s some covert recording like the one that tripped up John Sweeny / Panorama…

Be amusing if Hannah’s effort went straight on the shelf / in the bin (and her to The Priory?)

        • Tabs says:

Two of the girls on that programme are on GB News about 10pm tonight (Thursday) with Dan Wotton to discuss how the BBC edited the programme to be pro vax. One of the girls is hinting she has secret recordings that will prove the BBC to be the dishonest sods that we already know they are.

  39. Flotsam says:

    PMQ’s again.
Aided and abetted by Speaker Hoyle, the SNP were allowed to rip into Boris Johnson mercilessly on his final PMQ’s. The number of SNP MP’s called was totally disproportionate to the number of SNP MP’s in Parliament or indeed the number of Scottish people in the UK. Hoyle knew that the SNP would give Johnson a rougher ride than Smarmer.
The sheer viciousness and hate was quite striking, it made me wonder what example this is setting to the Scottish people. I wouldn’t be surprised if it could Incite terrorism.

    • Fedup2 says:

Flotsam – I totally agree and wonder what the idiot speaker was thinking . I think he called 6 snp vermin who asked the same tedious question . I was surprised nut nut bothered answering ….
…….. the humble crofter ex investment banker just plays a pantomime act which everyone can enjoy …..

But you are right – the sheer hate from thar lot is very disturbing and terrorism in Scotland can’t be far away …

  40. JohnC says:

Not one to gloat or anything, but I told you so.

They have put remainer Liz Truss in as the next PM.

Let’s hope she’s not as bad as Theresa May – but she has shown how easily she can switch sides when it suits her – and her future prospects within the establishment will be greatly increased if she takes us back to the EU.

  41. digg says:

Watching Lois Theroux interview on murderers who killed their parents in that fine upstanding country called the USA.

Lots of sympathy for the evil killers.

Lots of support for the evil killers.

    Where is this world going?

They should be facing the electric chair or else any personal disagreement can be a reason for murder and a get out of jail card as long as the victim is an older person.

Wouldn’t work if an older guy brutally murdered a younger guy though.

We are going into a very dark place thanks to our blindfolded media.

How long before older people are attacked in the street just for being old?

  42. tomo says:

Why am I thinking that the same peeps instructing CNN are liaising with the BBC?

  43. taffman says:

“Tory leadership: Mordaunt out as Sunak and Truss in run-off to be next PM”
Same old same old Consocalists .
This country needs Farage , The Brexit Party, UKIP and The Reform Party to put the Consocalists back into their box.
    They could do it !

  44. pugnazious says:

Thought I was listening to an Extinction Rebellion mouthpiece[I was I suppose] on LBC but turns out it was the Independent’s environment columnist who was telling us we’re all going to die…the LBC presenter was fully on board…as was Sheila Fogarty earlier in the day when she told us ‘We all want Nut Zero don’t we?’ having previously told us the ‘world is burning’.

This is the problem….95% of the media are not just on board but are active advocates for Nut Zero and climate change lunacy…..and you won’t hear any criticism at all but you will hear plenty of condemnation of anyone foolish enough to question the Faith…..not that you’ll hear them….the presenters just denounce ‘those who deny climate change’ as the presenters announce the coming climate apocalypse but don’t let them on the programme.

You can quite clearly see how two days of hot weather and fires, probably set by Extinction Rebellion themselves in many cases, have been weaponised to give licence to the most extreme commentary presented as if it was fact.

The BBC has been first and foremost in driving this narrative, giving licence to speculation and emotive sensationalism being presented as news whilst shouting down anyone who says anything to the contrary whilst cheerleading for the eco-terrorists and pressuring politicians to go green…you can see the effect as Boris finished off today by boasting about leading the world in green buffoonery….he, and all politicians, see it as a ‘legacy’ issue and they want to be on the right side of history…a history written by the BBC before it happens.

Once again we have the spectacle of unelected, over-paid, hard of thinking, hard-left, self-appointed elite running the country when what they should be doing is telling us how it is run…not how to run it.

About time the little princelings at the BBC were kicked out of their palaces and off their high horses.

  45. tomo says:

    whaaat was that?

    • Kaiser says:

that would be alex stein comedian and prankster proving that idiot politicians will listen to any nut case

      • tomo says:

Shows how far we’ve come that we can’t tell the difference without prior knowledge of Alex Stein’s prank…

  46. StewGreen says:

#BiasedBBC Charter says it should reflect the audience it SERVES

The entire BBC1 late night line up is black males

    • JohnC says:

      3% of the population.

If you see a black face more than 1 in 33 people, the BBC are guilty of racist discrimination.

I’ve decided to call it ‘racist discrimination’ instead of ‘racial discrimination’ from now on because the motivation for the BBC doing it is racist. It’s far more than just choosing a black person instead of a white person – there’s a real anti-white/pro-black racist agenda behind it.

  47. tomo says:

Democrats are doing themselves no favours with the January 6th prosecutions.

3 fatalities in the crowd are being hidden. Evidence is being hidden, plenty of lies are unravelling. Abuse of process on an epic scale…

    – people are angry, very, very angry – and rightfully so.
