TOADY Watch #1 – why does Tomasz Shafernaker do such a bad job with his weather forecasts?

After a day with persistant rain yesterday in the south-east I was hoping to be told by Tomasz after the 6 a.m. News that today might be a mix of sun and cloud – sunny periods in the old weather-speak. But having listened to Tomasz waffling for a couple of minutes, sounding like he is making it all up as he goes along, I have no clue what the weather is going to be like for south-east England except temperatures will be between 8° and 11°, I assume – I fervently hope – that that is on the Centigrade scale.

So much for the Met Office wrapped up in their Global Warming and Climate Changing supercomputers.

Turning to Meteo on the BBC w-s, I find a more specific forecast.

    Farming today

I don’t listen to this because it’s so bloody depressing – bit like that dire food programme….

.. any way – I caught it by accident today – there was a piece about a daffodil grower moaning about not getting enough staff to cut his product and ‘the flowers will be left in the field ‘….

… then it was about visas for foreigners. Apparently if you are a foreigner and want to get a visa to come to the land of free everything – it takes about 6 weeks .

But the daffs start getting harvested in January – but the Home office don’t dish out visa allowances until late December – such as Christmas Eve ….

Leading therefore – to a disconnection between labour and need….
The Christmas Eve thing struck a note with me – it’s the sort of thing nasty public services do …. I worked in an organisation which depended on the actions of another …and we knew that they vindictively sent out stuff to be ‘actioned ‘ around 4pm on Christmas Eve …. Maybe they were Muslims ….
The report on farming today was as poor as anything the bbc produces .

    Nougat and wife-swapping edition

UK party politics these days is akin to a Punch and Judy show – but a boring performance with all the fun wife-beating and sausage stealing removed.

What I mean is our side show democracy threatens no chance of any jeopardy to the prevailing left-liberal big state ideology – people are noticing at last there’s no real world difference between the parties.

Our politicians are posers, poseurs, pretending their politics – united in their every instinct – particularly their distain for the rank and file membership of their own respective parties.

Sometimes our politicians completely forget themselves – rather than consistently play the part of the party to which they supposedly belong – they try on the badges and stances of their supposed opponents. Wife-swapping their nearest and dearest politics like a 1970s suburban swinger party. Legend has it you look for the front gardens with a healthy clump of Pampas grass. Of course those have now all been concreted over so as to park the family car off-road.

See here today this pair of dueling headlines from left-leaning ‘i’ and right-leaning Telegraph: EU officials tell ‘i’ that No10 and Treasury are guilty of ‘wishful thinking’ over claim they can pursue closer relationship with EU without adopting laws such as freedom of movement (left-leaning ‘i’ newspaper)

So our supposedly get-Brexit-done Tory continuity PM Rishi Sunak is floating the notion of a Brexit softer than a World Cup Iran back four.

And here Mr AsI must digress so as to apologise for his rank punditry as to the likely result of the England Iran fixture. A low score bore draw was his prediction given Southgate’s fabian tactics. Also one failed to take account of the Iran team suddenly coming out in brave support of wimmin and defending their goal like a ladies team.

Fancy some soggy, damp and soft Swiss-style nougat Brexit deliberately left out on the sideboard for a couple of years? One guesses the only way the europeans will lift the punishment blockade without our full EU reentry or strict rule-taking would be some big money transfers from the UK government. Rishi might go for that – Cf. the UK-France Channel migrant deal. Sunak is ever the man to splash our cash abroad.

And then there’s sheep-in-wolf’s-clothing stuffed shirt Sir Keir, the formerly ultimate Remainer backstop: Starmer: UK must wean itself off migrant labour (Telegraph) – well, Sir K, this country had pretty much weaned itself off Labour – until all the Boris shenanigans.

Labour comes out against hyper immigration. That’s the way to do it, Mr Punch! We’ll believe that one when we see it. I’m guessing private opinion polling tells Sir Karen its worth a couple of points on his popularity.

So there you have it. Now Tories are for the EU and Labour are little Englanders – I think it was Jeremy Clarkson celebrated puncher of BBC production assistants who would end his show with the catchphrase “And on that bombshell…”

But we’ve still some other business to address…

We notice the ever coronaphobic ‘i’ newspaper keeping that little pot boiling (or is pot banging?): Health How to keep track of your long Covid – I like the natural assumption of their readers’ possession of the prolonged koof implied there and who would have guessed – a pic of a suitably bespectacled public sector HR department middling manager-looking Karen. No offence to the lady, she’s probably an underpaid and overworked nurse – but she does have that mantra of overwhelmed NHS and Lockdown written all over her – besides, she’s your sicknote ticket personified.

The Mirror regrets: …shameful ban on Onelove armbands… – that’s something to do with the football World Cup but the connection between eleven poofs repeatedly and excessively hugging and kissing oneanother in public and a gay Pride parade symbol escapes one for a moment.

Such is the case with floating the Swiss idea – or(hopefully ) starting to privatise the NHS …. With employees of the nHS getting free shares and managers with options to buy more ….

I had to turn the Welsh nationalist show – with added footy – off as it really did go way over the top …. The BBC agenda of breaking up the UK – then making enemies of neighbours using the Pro IRA method it employed across the years is quite something .

No offence – but I was breathing a sigh of relief that the Scots didn’t get to Qatar because it would have been even worse ….

But on a more substantial note – the courage of the Iranians keeping shtum for their anthem – speaks louder than any kneeling down or wearing silly woke armbands ….

Another article from a BBC “Science correspondent”.

ESA mulls Solaris plan to beam solar energy from space
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-62982113

    From the “science article”:
The Sun’s energy can be collected much more efficiently in space because there is neither night nor clouds.

Half an orbit will be in the night. Even the illustration shows half the planet in darkness.

The BBC person is Pallab Ghosh so I guess his ethnicity was more important than his science skills.

    • Ian Rushlow says:

“Half an orbit will be in the night. Even the illustration shows half the planet in darkness.”

Satellites very close to the Earth (such as the International Space Station) spend time in its shadow, but the duration diminishes with distance. A satellite in a geostationary orbit is pretty much in constant sunlight, at least 99% of the time and in practice much more. The illustrations from ESA used in the article are simplified to aid understanding and do not accurately portray the reality.

Agreed that the BBC usually recruit on the basis of ethnicity, though.

Under Mr. Stoltenberg’s leadership, NATO has responded to a more challenging security environment by implementing the biggest reinforcement of its collective defence since the Cold War, increasing the readiness of its forces and deploying combat troops in the eastern part of the Alliance. He believes in credible deterrence and defence while maintaining dialogue with Russia. He has also advocated for increased defence spending and better burden sharing within the Alliance, and a greater focus on innovation. NATO has also stepped up its efforts in the fight against terrorism. He strongly supports a partnership approach, with cooperation between NATO and the European Union reaching unprecedented levels.

Before coming to NATO, he was the UN Special Envoy on Climate Change from 2013 to 2014. He has also chaired UN High-level Panels on climate financing and the coherence between development, humanitarian assistance and environmental policies.

      Trudeau.
      From TCW article.

Euthanasia and assisted suicide became legal in Canada in 2016 …

It is now ridiculously easy to get a lethal jab in Canada where euthanasia is offered for non-terminal cases, such as disabled people, elderly people who claim their frailty is unbearable, and anyone who says they are mentally ill. Soon it is expected that children can qualify too.

The Canadian government is actively making it easier for medics to kill. Nurses as well as doctors can perform euthanasia, and Canada is unique in encouraging medics to present death as a ‘clinical care option’ in preliminary chats with health carers. An offer to kill is put on the table even before therapeutic options have been tried or exhausted.

Take the case of Alan Nichols, a 61-year-old partly disabled by a stroke and suffering from depression, who was given a lethal injection against the wishes of his family. His relatives complained to British Columbia’s College of Doctors and Surgeons and to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police but were told that he ‘met the criteria’ and that the family had no right to intervene.

This hell is presided over by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, the globalist woke authoritarian and self-regarding virtue-signaller par excellence. While Canada grants medics a right to kill with apparent impunity, his government thinks nothing of stripping away authentic rights and freedoms from the general populace, forcing them to have dodgy vaccines and wear face masks in a phoney war against Covid, an illness now no more harmful than the common cold.

A person with two glass eyes can see that it is the Canadian state that is truly sick.

Everyone knows Oti Mabuse from the dance floor of Strictly, but hers has been a long journey to achieve dancing fame in the UK. It started in the townships of South Africa. In this documentary, Oti returns to her childhood home to revisit the people and places that inspired her to be the dancer and woman she is today.

    …………

NOTICE – will return to UK and not stay in precious place!

Oti is a joyful companion to take us through this beautiful and diverse country, but this is not a traditional celebrity travelogue. As a black African, her perspective on her homeland is deeper, more personal and more nuanced than any casual visitor from the UK could bring.

    CONSERVATIVE …

Fiscal consolidation? What fiscal consolidation? Sure as the sunrise, the civil service is once again hiring for another batch of diversity and inclusion managers across the country, including in the DWP, the College of Policing, and HMRC. And on salaries reaching up to £74,000…

It’s only been a month since the government last spaffed £300,000 on these jobs. Back then, DWP were on the lookout for a “Diversity and Inclusion: Assurance, Governance and Evaluation Work Strand Lead” for £41,000 per year. With that job filled, they moved on to their search for a “Head of Diversity and Equity” on up to £74,000. Unfortunately that vacancy closed last night, along with the “D&I Locations Lead” job in the Cabinet Office (£61,000). So, tardy applicants will have to send their CVs to one of the other eight openings still up on the site…

    order-order.com

The total spend for the latest haul, assuming the candidates are talented enough for the top-end salaries, is over £500,000…

TOADY Watch #2 – the Sucker in charge of the Labour Party does another screeching U-turn
TWatO Watch #1 – the Sucker in charge of the Labour Party does another screeching U-turn

And the Montacutie covers it with some enthusiasm in her voice. NEW New Labour are coming back. Sir Keir has said to the CBI this morning “When I am Prime Minister … .” so there is a Lawyer counting his fee before the case has come to Court. You may not be PM after December 2024 or whenever the next General Election is called Sir Keir. Of course, there is no mention of this screeching policy U-turn on migration from the Labour Party.

There is just approval from Sarah: “Labour are ahead by 20 points in the polls.”

He’s playing a careful game . Only the swamp care about manifestos – they are meaningless .

I was half awake listening to a red labour bloke being interviewed about the minimum wage and he was asked what difference there was in policy between his lot and the blue labour lot . For a moment he was flummoxed – which just about sums things up .

Farage keeps teasing about doing something different but he won’t – if he cared that much he’d have dumped GBNews and got back on the horse ….

I really wonder if those blue labour people have any idea about how despised they are for failing to use their 80 majority to be conservatives .
I suppose they’ll spend the remains of their political careers filling their bank accounts …

Fed, ask yourself some questions (like I do): do you trust Sir Keir and the Labour Party on their policies? It it is a case of: “You’ve got to ask yourself one question: ‘Do I feel lucky?’ Well, do you, punk?”

Of course I don’t trust him – or any politician – examples of defects –

A lawyer ( lies for money
No morality ( he is a lawyer )
Politician ( lies are part of the job )
          Driven – major character defect
Member of Red / blue Labour Party ( wants my money )
Dishonest ( lawyer – see covid breaches )
No beliefs apart from Personsl advancement politician )
Globalist – no belief in country

I’m sure I could come up with more if need be – this list can probably applied to any of them

No politician would end the lords – it’s their personal gift a useful source to bribe as necessary ….

Fed, very cynical if I may say. I like to think that some, many even, start out with good motives and wish to make something, anything, ‘better’ but they get corrupted by ‘that place’ or ‘the other place’. All depends as you say what belief system a particular MP or Peer might have. Steve Baker MP, for example.

I heard on the wireless that England were six runs for two wickets at some overseas festival or other!

That’s quite good going really, and reminds me of a school game back in 1958 – I think it was a house match between Nadger’s House and Whipper’s House!

Barfington Major scored a century in the first innings, and was adulated by having his tea served on a silver platter owned by a minor relative of the Prime Minister!

        Happy days…

The controversial tournament kicked off on Sunday, and the BBC ensured to prioritise addressing real-world issues over football.

The sofa dolly is selling it like she’s selling a washing powder.
They move into the story of someone who flooded
..seems like she was flooded in rain 2 years ago
So a tidal barrier isn’t a great solution for her.

Looks to me that the project is an investment scam
who needs a new huge container port on the Wash ?

Still the project is a great way of INCREASING today’s UK CO2
cos of all the CO2 emitted in the production of a trillion tonnes of concrete.
All on the promise that the sea hydro will win back that CO2 decades and decades into the future.
