I was in contact with someone in Israel. His daughter lives alone and is holed up in her home’s shelter in Ashkelon which is close to Gaza.

He gave me an update on the family, all alive at the moment. But his first question was, ‘What is the British media saying about what is happening?’

I refuse to watch the BBC because if I have to listen to Jeremy Bowen or Orla Guerin, I will probably throw up. What I assume will happen from past experience, is for the first couple of days we might have something like factual reporting. After that either them upstairs or Mishal will have found a way for it all to have been Israel’s fault. And if they cannot blame all Israel then it certainly will be Bibbi’s fault and they will find nice lefty Jews (or useful idiots as I call them) to demand his resignation.

I just wonder if Israel kills an equal number of women and children acting as human shields for Hamas leaders, will Mishal think it proportionate? (Don’t answer that and I know Israel tries to avoid killing women and children, not make them the targets).

Will people posting here let me know if I am correct in my predictions of how the BBC handle this terrible event.

Deborah – well I’m watching Al jaz era – I don’t understand how BBCOFCOM allows it to broadcast in the UK after RT was silenced .
I sort of get the feeling the BBC doesn’t want to report on what’s happening – it would rather do something safe like the red labour conference .

There was a detailed discussion on Al jaz about an Israeli government of unity forming up – something I haven’t heard on the BBC – also the US sending a carrier group – again not seen on the BBC . The slaughter at the gig is being covered – I don’t suppose even the BBC can ignore maybe 250 dead ….

I still don’t get what the Islamic terrorist aim is . Surely it cannot just be terror and slaughter ? Is it a more wide spread war ? Will land up with those who financed and trained the Islamic terrorists being struck ? Iran ?

Can but wish those affected well ….Deborah

I suspect they want a seat at the bigger table.

In Thailand a few years back (under Thaksin), the government (via his brother in law appointed to the position) announced they would negotiate with the Muslim terrorists in the South. The bombings and murders went through the roof : each faction was trying to gain itself more importance at the table. And in the end it was for nothing as the whole thing was in bad faith from both sides.

They will be respected a lot more by Iran etc after this. What a shame they don’t care about how many will eventually die to get it.

But of course their leaders will tell them it’s all the will of their God. Like ours did centuries ago.

      Deborah,
Totally agree with all of your views.
I saw a picture of a bulldozer easily pushing through the border fence. If this is a true picture , you never know these days, I was surprised that the fence was so flimsy and easily breached. It can’t be pleasant to live in a country under an endless siege but the border fence needs to made much more formidable. Also I think that a lot of folk living in Gaza cross the border each day , this needs to be more rigorously controlled . Finally I think Israel should impose a naval blockade and search all ships bound for Gaza for arms.
I know that a lot of Arabs live in Israel and have full Israeli citizens rights . Are you able to comment on how they feel about Hamas and the constant threat of terror year in year out?

And still the BBC refuse to use the word ‘terrorists’ in any of their reports.

Far-Left activist scum. I can think of no other way to describe these monsters after what has happened yet they still try to protect those who did it.

As soon as this phase of the proceedings is over, the BBC will drop it like a stone and the reports will be all about the ‘innocent’ Palestinians who got killed in the reprisals. I am sure they are secretly hoping there are a few children in there – and even better if they can get pictures.

Thanks Fedup. I keep thinking of Miriam stuck in the shelter alone and her parents can do nothing (hopefully she is now in safe hands). But at least she is alive. There are now thought to be 700 dead and approx 1400 grieving parents.

I have noticed the Daily Mail on line has concentrated on maybe 3 or 4 of the dead and their stories but saying next to nothing about what is happening now. I have been able to get onto Haaretz but the Jerusalem Post was inaccessible for most of the day.

But I have noticed the repeated criticism that the Israeli government wasn’t doing much yesterday morning. It was a religious holiday and the sabbath. The expectation that someone was sitting in an office, and having been told what was happening, making instant decisions without contacting the Prime Minister and probably senior defence officials seems unlikely. Things would take at least a few minutes, then to get soldiers gathered up and for them to get to the troubled areas fast and safely would take a few minutes more. It is easy to criticise but harder to consider the practicalities. And don’t forget Orthodox Jews don’t usually answer their phones on a day of rest.

Mahyar Tousi showed the Israeli flag shone onto the Brandenburg Gate, the Eiffel Tower, a building in Rome. London, nothing. The mayor (peace be on him) refused to write to the Home Secretary to ask that Hamas be considered a terrorist organisation but was happy to write to ask for more funding to keep people in London safe in the light of what is happening in Israel. I presume the girl in Croydon is forgotten.

‘As such, we call for an immediate end to the violence and adherence to international law, in all its aspects. The international community must uphold their obligations towards ending the illegal occupation of Palestine. We call for renewed and sincere efforts for lasting peace.’

Execrable so-called ‘reporting’ from the Palestinian Broadcasting Corporation this morning.

The Bee Lady has been sent to Israel but she might as well have been in Gaza.

At 0735 we had a lengthy uninterrupted rant from the Palestinian health ministry bemoaning the fact that dastardly Israel had retaliated and the hospitals were full of the injured. Immediately afterwards in low sorrowful tones we listened to someone from Oxfam also speaking unchallenged about conditions in Gaza. The Bee Lady didn’t interview, she just fed lines. The contribution of Hamas to this situation was, needless to say, unmentioned.

Then we moved on to the newspaper review. For a few brief microseconds we heard a different view as Rick Knobson read out the headlines from the Mail (‘pawns of merciless terrorists’) and the Times. (the BBC cant bring themselves to say that themselves of course) But how to get back to business as usual? Easy. We then had a lengthy review, taking more time than all the other newspaper headlines, of the pro-Palestinian position from………The Morning Star!!!!!! On sale and being read by the pro-Palestinians outside the Labour Party conference, you see. So that’s all right then.

BBC line. It’s all Israel’s fault.

It would appear events, even distressing surprise events, do tend to reinforce one’s priors. So it is with the FT this morning. With an editorial history of complaining about Bibi’s ‘far-right’ government today the pink paged one takes the opportunity to publish: Gideon Rachman Netanyahu’s strategy towards the Palestinians now looks like a failure

Cheap shot from the home of expensive advertisers such as: Chopard… The artisan of emotions since 1860 – the Alpine Eagle XL Chrono model will set you back something north of seventeen grand

The ladies do hanker after a bad boy: Mastermind known as the Guest unleashes assault… Mohammed Deif, a Hamas commander nicknamed the Guest after his habit of moving between sympathisers houses each night… ability to outwit the Israeli military machine has earned him the reverence of Palestinian militants (FT) – sounds like a layabout sofa-surfer to me – and not to be glorified.

Danny Cohen articulates what many hereabouts will be thinking. His Opinion piece is frontpage of the Telegraph: BBC fails publicaly by not calling Hamas what they are: terrorists

The BBC is our state broadcaster – all too keenly willing to front up and parrot regime policies such as Lockdown.

And yet: Rishi’s pledge: ‘Terrorism will not prevail’ (Daily Express – suddenly forgetting for a moment that bold masthead <b>’United with the People of Ukraine’) – point being – Boris and Hancock call it a Pandemic and so the BBC happily acquiesce – whereas Rishi calls it Terrorism and the BBC demure… with Militants or some such.

On the BBC, my former employer, there appears to be a dictat not to use the word “terrorism” (Danny Cohen, Telegraph)

    How to explain this?

Well, let’s take an analogeous example.

Border Force staff flaunt Pride epaulettes… are allowed… the Home Office has said (Telegraph) – giving a whole new twist to the comedic term dressed up like a Swiss Rear Admiral

Despite – as they say in journalism: Suella Braverman, the Home Secretary, writing to police chiefs last month reminding them that “officers should not be wearing or waving badges or flags that undermine their oath of impartiality…” (Telegraph)

Perhaps those in the blob over there at the home office and the BBC know well enough that these are hollow nod and wink Tory dog whistle say one thing do another empty words when Rishi says terrorists and Suella says official uniform only?

Who’s really running the country, we wonder?

Time for a quick post-Brexit are we Taking Back Control check

Sycamore Gap tree: Site plans are complicated, says MP… Hexham MP Guy Opperman [Conservative] said while discussions were ongoing, it was not straightforward as the location is a UNESCO world heritage site. “Hadrian’s Wall itself and the land around it is a UNESCO World Heritage site, which brings significant complications.” (BBC)

Gotta check what our supranational globalist managerial overmasters have ordered.

Oil up, gold and silver up, the Stock Market looks like it will go down.

Biden has caused massive real and lasting damage not only to the USA, but to Europe as well. US oil reserves were used in a blatantly corrupt campaign to prop up support for the Democrats in the mid terms, and they should have been refilled when prices were low, but they weren’t. The US should normally be holding 6 months of reserves, but they are currently at a low of just 40 days.

This is corruption and the RINOs should be calling this out, and making a future repeat illegal, but half the GOP are as corrupt as the Democrats so haven’t done that.

If a war breaks out in the Middle East involving Iran or Syria oil is going to go through the roof, and don’t think America is going to send its oil to Europe, it’s going to keep it for itself and it will be us the supposed allies who suffer.

In the UK our Marxist government has destroyed the countries ability to defend itself made worse by sending what weapons we did have to Ukraine. Biden has removed US ammunition stocks from Israel to support his corrupt war in Ukraine to the point where there is little left available.

The Israeli Iron dome system has been shooting down Hamas Iranian made rockets, probably financed by Bidens war in Ukraine against Russia, and Bidens Democrats have been debating about whether they should supply the necessary weaponry to keep the iron dome system functional.

It wouldn’t be so bad if there weren’t so many greedy and corrupt Jews within the higher ranks of the Democrat party, but they appear to be in a vast majority there, prepared to sacrifice the lives and security of their fellows in Israel for money and power.

We don’t know where this is going to end the world is becomming increasingly unstable and more potential wars look like breaking out in various places and all of this can be laid at the door of corrupt Socialists doing what Socialism has always done – killing people.

There might be shortages on the way so keep a few days of emergency food in the house just in case, and the advice of keeping vehicles and fuel storage topped up still holds good.

There is a huge problem within the BBC about Israel and I believe OFCOM or even the Government needs to find out what’s going on and who are involved in skewing their reporting to be as lenient as possible on the wicked organisations responsible in this totally disgusting way.

It is clear as day that the BBC have a mission on this. In fact omission of the truth.

And they have logical reasons for doing so
They have to keep their own staff safe and they have to work in Arab countries.

The bias is in things like failing to report attacks

The Islamist militant organisation – which controls Gaza and is designated as a terrorist group in the UK and elsewhere around the world – uses this tactic frequently”

      https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-67046750

Clearly the BBC doesn’t agree, but that’s about the nearest they get – throwing in that almost made up word Islamist, probably never used in conjunction with anything other than a, t t t t.. militant attack

We saw dead bodies of Hamas fighters still lying on the ground – left to rot – unlike their Israeli victims who’ve long ago been taken away for identification and buria

    “Fighters”? Terrorists?

that’s Jonathan Beale reporting from southern Israel, near Gaza

The Hamas fighter of course would be have been happy to throw rocks at Jonathan Beale if he was gay.

After he had been thrown off a tall building of course.

But the BBC would NEVER tell us that. They must be preserved as ‘victims’ to use as weapons against the Right.

      A link would help.

Assuming this ‘report’ is accurately quoted here, it is hardly a surprise.

It’s an active war zone and and nothing is stopping the ‘reporter’ stopping to give them a good Christian burial.

Just… watch out for IEDs, cretin.

As with most things, they bring their fun with them to places you feel safe.

Ismail Haniyeh, the leader behind Hamas’s deadliest ever attack on Israelis, watched it unfold on television with delight from the safety of Qatar….

Footage from inside his Doha office showed Haniyeh celebrating the attack with other Hamas officials, before they prostrated themselves on the carpet and praised God.

How many MSM peeps are on the Qatari payroll ?

At what point do the Israelis say “to hell with it” and send a team to Doha?

Can always tell when the likes of the bbc approve:-

    Full house for Reeves’s speech
The hall for Rachel Reeves speech is full, including front row seats for the shadow cabinet and Labour grandees.

Arguments broke out as a huge queue of disappointed attendees were turned away at the door.

    Fingers down throat time!

Labour’s shadow cabinet has been largely united in its response to the attacks on Israel, with senior figures saying the country has a right to self-defence against terrorism – “Largely” – normally the likes of the bbc would dig up someone to give a different point of view – I wonder who the minority were, maybe they could be interviewed for balanced reporting

The BBC never designates the murderous acts of Hamas as what they really are: terrorist attacks by a terrorist organisation.

That kind of faux neutrality is tantamount to complicity.

It would be like claiming a moral equivalence between the Nazis and the Allies.

Ban the BBC, Ofcom, you useless lefties.

    bbc “reports”:-

UK chief rabbi: ‘Time of mourning and deep grief’
UK chief rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis has told the BBC “there is hardly a Jewish family in the UK which is not affected in one way or another by what has happened in Israel”.

He said this was a “time of mourning, of deep grief, and of enormous worry” for the Jewish community.

He also warned that “all steps need to be taken in order to guarantee safety”.

On Monday, a Kosher restaurant in Golders Green, north London, was vandalised and a bridge metres away graffitied with “Free Palestine”.

The Metropolitan Police said no arrests had been made, and the incident was not being treated as a hate crime.

Not being treated as a hate crime??

Surely everyone is in favour of helping refugees
It’s just that the crazy UK open borders policy is a crap way
Getting their own governments to be civil in the first place, is a good way.

… is where it came from.

This must be the biggest cope of the day from you.

So the Jewish are bending over backwards to support immigration of ‘refugees’ (could be economic of political) to toher countries, yet refuse to do the same in their own country.

        That is called hypocrisy

        https://lawoffice.org.il/en/israel-immigration-rules/

        “Can anyone immigrate to Israel?

The answer to that is no. Israel does not see itself as an immigration destination for the world and does not have a general immigration policy.”

“Is Israel immigration possible if I am not Jewish?

Yes, Israel is defined as a Jewish and Democratic state and Israel immigration rules reflect this reality …

In any case, it is possible for non-Jews to immigrate to Israel when the following conditions apply:

        – Family members of Israeli citizens
        – Those who are not Jewish themselves but saved the lives of Jews during the period of the Jewish holocaust of World War II
        – Those who are recognized as refugees in Israel, or are recognized as stateless people are granted after a long legal process a temporary resident visa (A-5)
        – If the minister of internal affairs deems that you have made a significant contribution to the state of Israel

        Hmm.

TOADY Watch #1 – emitting CO2 so that you do not have to!

The BBC love to tell us listeners and viewers that we should not use our cars, we should not fly, even once a year on holiday, and we should turn our thermostats down because we are creating climate change and boiling the planet if we drive and fly and heat our homes to a liveable temperature in winter.

The big question for the D-G, Tim Davie, must be why has Radio4 sent the Bee Lady all the way to Israel when in the first half hour of TOADY all Martha did was talk to a BBC correspondent, John Donnison, who was there before Martha arrived. That is a disgraceful waste of TellyTaxpayer money and creation of unnecessary CO2 emissions which the BBC say are ‘a bad thing’.

    Despicable BBC.

Cancel your TellyTax, folks, save money and the planet (maybe but probably not).
