OFCOM is meant to ‘regulate ‘ broadcasters. But when it comes to the State Funded BBC there doesn’t appear to be much control – for instance there is no comment about the refusal of the BBC to call Islamic HAMAS a terrorist group even though it carries out terrorist attacks and is legally a terrorist gang in UK law .
So who is OFCOM ? Does it need to be ended like the BBC? Will any politician fix it ?

I haven’t been on here for several years. Having not had a TV for around seven years, I had managed without the TV licence until early last year when I found myself watching a few things online, so felt I better pay the dreaded telly tax.
A couple of days ago I cancelled my TV licence and cancelled my direct debit to pay for it, using online banking.
The final straw that broke the camel’s back was reading online about the BBC’s refusal to call Hamas a terrorist organisation, as well as their appallingly anti-Israel coverage in recent years. What a bunch of sickening Guardianistas.
Here are my other reasons for cancelling the TV licence, which I had only had for just under two years.
1. The Beeb covered for Jimmy Savile, Rolf Harris, Stuart Hall and others and now dares to make a drama about the Devil incarnate Savile.
2. The appallingly woke version of “Great Expectations”, packed with ethnic minority actors and completely rewriting the Dickens novel.
3. The obsession with quotas of presenters and staff from certain in groups eg black, Muslim, gay etc.
4. The idiot Lineker and his endless wokery.
5. The loathsome bias of people like Emily Maitlis
6. The leftwing bias on Question Time panels over the years.
7. The armies of pundits sent to sporting events and all the time spent chatting in the studio rather than showing the action.
8. The constant pushing of their woke ideology
9. Marginalisation of classical music on TV, it got shunted to BBC4 as far as I can tell.
10. The fact that you have to log in to use the website now, thus meaning they are tracking you.
11. The lack of comments threads on serious issues on the website.

13. The poor Ashes coverage, I watched the highlights on i-player but the graphics were terrible.

19. The lack of respect for Christianity and lack of Christianity in broadcasts, all there seems to be is Songs of Praise and a couple of carol services at Christmas and religious music on R3.
20. The fact that BBC2 has been dumbed down so much.
21. The complete lack of any good comedy, so I’m told.
22. The ridiculous salaries they paid to the star names, the idiot Lineker is not worth over 1 million a year salary.
23. The Salford Beeb colonisers of Manchester who apparently look down their noses at working class white locals, so I’m told.
24. The way they ruined Top Gear. Good to hear Freddie Flintoff will receive a large pay out from them.
25. The appalling post 9/11 Question Time when a studio packed with baying Muslims reduced the US Ambassador to tears, a shameful episode which I was told about by my late parents.
26. Too many female summarisers on the mens’ cricket, I am happy with the commentators like Alison Mitchell or Isa Guha but Ebony Rainsford Brent is useless.
27. The pretentious loud music which introduces the TV news bulletins.
28. The decidedly anti-Royal coverage of the Coronation.
29. The Beeb’s appalling fear-mongering during Covid.
30. A disgusting late night show on R5 Live when that northern Irish presenter was discussing promiscuous gay men who like to get high on drugs and then bang as many partners as they can. The presenter was so rude to a guest who argued against such promiscuous parties.
I could go on all night as I listen to Storm Babet howling away outside. I do hope more and more people cancel their licences. The Beeb should have adverts like ITV or C4. Or it could be subscription only for those soya latte-sipping Guardianistas that still want to watch it. I’ve been led to believe that cancelling the licence first, then cancelling the DD, as I have done, should result in fewer pestering letters and threats. We shall see.

Beebophonic – if you have cancelled your TV licence and the direct debit to pay it (good for you), then you can put any letters from the BBC straight in the bin (no need to open them), personally I use them as firelighters, but I only get maybe one a year now.
For the first few years the letters were threatening in tone, and worded so that you might think you had to have a licence, and they’d be sending someone around to catch you out. As if everyone without a licence is secretly watching the shyte the BBC produces with the curtains drawn!
The last few I opened were just straightforward requests to let them know if we wanted a TV licence that year.
It makes no difference, they all go in the fire, and I’ve never had anyone knock on the door about it – if I did I’d just tell them we don’t need a TV licence, because we don’t watch live TV, or BBC iPlayer, and haven’t done for years. They have the right to ask, I guess, but no right to pester you if you tell them you’re not interested, and frankly, I’d slam the door in their faces if they tried.
The BBC are doomed, unless the govt let them have direct payment (skimmed off taxation), which I worry Labour might, they’re going to be facing a bigger and bigger shortfall as more people stop paying the licence fee – good!

The most dirty part of it is that when they DO want to call someone a terrorist, the BBC quote someone else calling them it – but phrase it like an assertion but in single quotes.
They have been doing this to lie to us about Ukraine since the start by presenting the completly ridiculous statements of the Ukranian government as facts with ‘says xxx’ right at the end.
And if they need to quote but DON’T want you to believe it, they put ‘The Russian Government claims ‘…’.
Just one of their many dirty tricks to sway the readers impression without directly lying.
