Midweek 18th October 2023

OFCOM is meant to ‘regulate ‘ broadcasters. But when it comes to the State Funded BBC there doesn’t appear to be much control – for instance there is no comment about the refusal of the BBC to call Islamic HAMAS a terrorist group even though it carries out terrorist attacks and is legally a terrorist gang in UK law .
So who is OFCOM ? Does it need to be ended like the BBC? Will any politician fix it ?

The first casualty of war is the truth. I certainly wouldn’t trust the BBC to recognise and broadcast the truth.
A big issue with truth is, as they say in Court, The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Apart from obvious bias, the truth can be manipulated by omission or insertion of opinion or simple lies.

Shocking news, imagine that as a result of Bidens Democrats corruption and greed Russia decided with its partners to train Hamas to attack Israel.
Imagine then that it prepped Iran and potentially armed it and was looking to open a second front in a proxy war with America.

Imagine then that Russia had primed North Korea to attack South Korea and just to make things even worse, that Russia was making plans to attack Estonia and other Baltic states with today a communications link between Estonia and Sweden being damaged.

Then add in the possibility of a Chinese attack on Taiwan and you have 5 wars which would spread the US so thin it would not be capable of fighting them all effectively.

It would be the end of the West as we knew it and a great Socialist achievement as it has always wanted the Wests destruction, and everyone equally poor.

According to this guy the balloon could go up as soon as this weekend and he has the evidence to back that up.

I watched “Reckoning” wondering how the BBC would paint itself and it’s involvement in the Savile years.

No doubt Savile was a nasty piece of work but I did detect in the final episodes a push to equate his ability to carry out his nasty behaviour on his links to both The Catholic Church and The Conservative Government and especially to Maggie.

They ran long segments of a cartoon Maggie speaking to Savile and made sure lots of footage of any Catholic connection they could shoe-horn in.

I believe the reason for this was to take the heat off the BBC and point it at the BBC’s two enemies the Conservatives and the Catholic Church.

They are aware that there many youngsters out there are pre-primed to dislike both so getting them onside with this bait is a double whammy. Load shit onto them and water down the BBC’s involvement whilst gaining followers.

It demonstrates to me how duplicitous they are as a broadcaster and how they just cannot be trusted to deliver the truth…. It always has to be the BBC truth.

Having said all that I take my hat off to Steve Coogan for a magnificent portrayal of Savile. So good it was actually scary!

I just mentioned the same topic below Stew.

It’s amazing how slow the MSM are being to acknowledge (or even mention) this important evidence – though the BBC are changing their tone which means they know it’s true but don’t want to tell us.

They will be squirming like those eels in the bucket again wondering how they could word a ‘BBC Verify’ report so they don’t upset all their Muslim friends by saying Hamas did it. Because if ‘BBC Verify’ avoid this one, it will show what a complete agenda-based farce it is.

And when they do, it won’t be followed by any analysis of how the terrorists in Hamas are complete liars and nothing else they say can be trusted, it will simply be dropped. And their next claim given full credance until some proves them liars again.

      Rinse and repeat.

“If you’d allow me, I listened in to your correspondent, Jeremy Bowen’s report, where he says with absolute certainty & drama that this was an Israeli misile. What was that based on? Claiming that it was a misile based on Hamas information. He hasn’t been on the ground. He hasn’t verified himself. He’s taking Hamas information & displaying that as the truth.”

BBC news response: “I think we’ve been pretty circumspect.”

Fog of war clarity when required, BBC style.

Why would Israel target a Christian hospital deliberately. That Hamas could care less where their ordnance lands is a given.

    Be afraid, very afraid.

BBC to remake The Wombles 50 years later.

Tobermory now a rasta, Madame Cholet, an illegal immigrant with a burqa, Great Uncle Bulgaria to be an elderly white racist, Orinoco and Tomsk as a homosexual couple, Wellington as an eco warrior chaining himself to railings on Wimbledon Common and Bungo, awaiting gender reassignment (apologies I made this all up, but it might be close to the final product).
At least, poor old Bernard Cribbins isn’t around to narrate the reboot, maybe Lenny Henry can step in.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/67133016

Underground, overground, Wombling free, the Wombles of Wimbledon Common, are we!

If you have no idea what any of that means don’t worry – you soon will.

The Wombles were created by children’s author Elizabeth Beresford in 1968, and were made even more famous by a BBC TV series two years later.

Now the children’s show is getting a 21st century re-boot by Altitude Films, the makers of “Horrible Histories: The Movie”.

    Who were The Wombles?
Their author, Elizabeth Beresford, describes them as “a bit like teddy bears to look at but they have real claws and live beneath Wimbledon Common” – an area of green open space in London.

The Wombles were secretive creatures, who lived in burrows underground but had a positive environmental attitude and did a lot of recycling of other people’s rubbish and litter.

Their motto was “make good use of bad rubbish”.

The show’s environmental themes of cleaning up and looking after public spaces – particularly in rural areas – is thought to be an important element of the new TV series.

Once again the BBC – who are now bereft of real artistic talent due to years of quota based recruitment – are trying to leech onto something their predecessors and betters did which was popular for all the right reasons. The main one being ‘no agenda’.

They will cram as much agenda into this as possible (no doubt BAME wombles, the head of the house will be a woman and they will be suffering due to climate change) just try and give us a dose before we turn it off because it is complete tosh which could have been written by a 6 year old.

And yet another classic will have been hijacked and thoroughly trashed.

Israel says Islamic Jihad rocket misfire caused Gaza hospital blast
    https://www.timesofisrael.com/israel-says-islamic-jihad-rocket-misfire-caused-gaza-hospital-blast/

This story has moved into the ‘hysteria’ bracket with all Arab news sites using the favourite BBC trick of directly saying Israel did it then adding ‘says Hamas officials on the end’.

What still amazes me is that Hamas – a designated terrorist group – can do anything they want, be as dirty and subhuman as they want yet people like the BBC still give them full credit for any statements they make.

That article has far more compelling evidence that is was by a failed Hamas rocket and was an ‘accident’ – which of course it was whichever side did it.

But the hysteria in the media – especially the Arab media – shows just what a warped world it is over there. They don’t care one bit about right and wrong. Just their own agenda. Exactly like the BBC I suppose.

I have noticed the BBC have toned down the rhetoric and are now mentioning how Israel deny it (AFTER the direct accusations from Hamas of course). And – as usual when this happens – they are concentrating on the victims and ’empathy’ to make people think about that instead.

BBC Verify are taking their time over this one : not in line with the agenda and will get some serious backlash from their Muslim friends if they don’t blame Israel.

My bet is that they avoid the subject completely and will most definitely not directly blame the terrorist group. Which will expose what a total farce BBC verify is and prove how it has been established purely to assist the Leftist agenda.

I will follow developments closely for this one.

It’s a mixture of ‘who dun it ?’ And a chess game . If one looks at a cock up free version then Islamic Hamas would be most likely candidate – doing it to derail the Obama / Biden visit – which it has done . He might as well turn the plane around .

He will have to go to the hospital where he will make a huge target …

Misfiring missile ? Unlikely – judging by the number of dead – or were they firing it from the roof .

did Israel do it on purpose ? Why do that? They are up against it and need as much support as they get – so unlikely – even if there was a number one Hamas target there . Accident ? Maybe – but evidence at the scene might help . Perhaps later today Hamas will produce a piece of Israeli missile debris and claim it was from the hospital ……

Even the BBC is being cautious on this …

      • JohnC says:

I doubt very much either side did it on purpose.

In trying to find out what rockets Hamas uses, I also discovered it is common for Hamas to store ammunition at hospitals in the assumption Israel will not attack them because what just happened would happen if they did.

The clue for these stories is when the BBC drop it. I’ve realised that the BBC get to know everything about things like this – they will have cointacts in government organisations everywhere.

The big thing about this for me though is that the hysteria and hate against Israel from everywhere I look during my search swamps anyone who might have anything sensible to say. That shows me just what we are up against with the brain-washed stone-age ‘religion of peace’.

Occam’s Razor: When presented with two possible solutions, the simplest is the more likely to be correct.

Sherlock Holmes (Conan Doyle): When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.

The simplest solution, the hospital was an accident. Who is more likely to be responsible for an accident – Hamas.

The impossible, the IDF deliberately targeted a hospital full of Palestinian ‘women and children’, even the most hardline IDF fighter must be aware what kind of political fallout that would result in.

What remains? It was an accident, a misfire even… Which side is the more technically capable? Which side is the better organised and trained? Which side has the better weaponry? Which side has the better discipline? Which side relies heavily on crudely made rockets and bombs?

What remains? Hamas accidentally scored an ‘own goal’. Or (darker, and probably less likely) Hamas are not above sacrificing their ‘own’ to score points on the global ’empathy’ meter.

Another month – another no change in the rate of inflation . It’s 6.7% – as I listened to a discussion between the useless bee lady and economist they yapped and yapped but never mentioned this number nor the importance of it – namely it is used for benefits / pension rises in April 2024 . It’s that important .
Martha Carney – bee lady – what does she care about welfare rises / cost in April 2024 …. But to others it’s important for life .
Maybe Hunt will fiddle it not to use this number … and also that dumb ‘target ‘ that sunak set to half inflation ? Dumb .

You know sometimes I think they should remind people that the ‘inflation rate ‘ is the rate of price increases ….and therefore falling inflation means prices are still going up – but not by so much …

I tried to find one in three different towns with multiple pharmacies that did not involve a 30 minute queue with each customer arguing or asking endless stupid questions.

    no chance.

The last one was trying to buy Ibuprofen (40p from any supermarket) from the pharmacist who then asks “are you on any other medication ?”

    FFS my heart sank

we then went through a guessiing game with the customer saying “yes it starts with osteo something” and endless other lists of drugs with only the first three letters of the name supplied.

Delivering carnage as the Star has apparently hired Ned Stark as sub-editor edition

In a fleeting moment of dark reflection one glances at the headline: Hospital Horror (Daily Mail) and ponders how NHS bosses are going to trump that for a scare this coming winter crisis?

…strike on hospital killed at least 500… (Daily Mail) – so run the conflicting claims and counter-claims – a mere bagatelle, some might say, for our failing nationalised health sector – and, as for strikes, just wait until the BMA, Unite and UNISON start to really turn the screws on the Tory government.

In typical think-of-a-number form the various titles act like incontinent bidders on an edition of that daytime junk TV show Flog It

Strike kills up to 500 in Gaza (The Times); Officials claimed an Israeli air strike killed up to 800 (Daily Express); The Palestinian health ministry… said late yesterday that at least 200 people had been killed in the strike (FT)

In stark contrast to their editorial line on the on-going Ukraine conflict the labour-supporting Daily Mirror takes a leaf out of John Lennon’s song book and sings All we are saying is give peace a chance: Middle East crisis spirals… This Must End

Rightish-leaning papers still consider terrorism as the proximate casus belli and maintain photos of the initial victims in remembrance of this fact on their frontpages: British Israeli teenager… has been killed by Hamas terrorists… (Telegraph); Family tells Sun of Hamas hell… Inside horror house where Brit girl, 13, was slain (Sun)

Frankly, one doesn’t require this emphasis on British and/or Brit to convince one that Hamas are a bunch of thugs begging for the IDF to retaliate – that was the point of their attack, right?

One should be wary of this sort of passport patriotism – it’s the last refuge of the Biden-lapdog neocon scoundrels who would want us to blindly fire off some British cruise missiles into the heart of the hornets’ nest – and then as a consequence take in tens of thousands of Gazan refugees – we’ve been there too many time before – when we’ve already got enough trouble over here as it is. Leave it to the Israelis to clean house so we can keep our powder dry and our borders closed, so to speak.

UK faces higher threat from lone wolf terrorists, ex-intelligence chiefs warn (‘i’) – surely lone wolves in the plural adds up to a pack of wolves – a network… a terror-minded group or ideology of some form?

And speaking of British intelligence’s former finest: Trump sues ex-British spy over dossier containing ‘shocking and scandalous claims’… in a largely discredited report by a former British spy were false and harmed his reputation… the company founded by Christopher Steele, who created a dossier in 2016 that contained rumors and uncorroborated allegations (AP) – not exactly George Smiley or even James Bond was he?

And in reference to largely discredited reports – what’s happened to: Prevent strategy… Terrorism in the UK: the rising threat of far-right extremists (Guardian, May 2022)

And stats to prove it: Since 2017, counter-terrorism forces have foiled 32 plots: 18 were Islamist related, and 12 were from the extreme right wing (Guardian) – I’m guessing the islamist plots were potential full-blown bomb, gun and knife attacks – whereas your average extreme right wing nut was nicked for overdue library fines on his a dog-eared copy of Mein Kampf

The Guardian figures are rather revealing: 19 out of 20 children who were arrested in the previous 12 months for terrorism offences were linked to an extreme rightwing ideology – yep, that’s ‘children’

Those falling for rightwing hate and then breaking terrorism laws were younger than those falling for Islamist hate, with techniques including online content based on violent video games shaped to indoctrinate them. (Guardian) – yep, that’s video games.

The Gruan can’t obfuscate this fact: Although the death toll in the UK from the extreme right wing has numbered single victims so far, including the assassination of Jo Cox MP in 2016… and if ever there were a genuinely lone wolf nut responsible it was certainly that case.

But there’s always somewhere on the planet one can go to make a point: mass murders in Christchurch and now Buffalo give the lie to any notion the ideology is any less effective at delivering carnage. (Guardian)

On a lighter note and rather in the category of not news – the Daily Star goes with: Winter is coming!

    Game of Thrones anyone?

Well it does tend to turn a bit nippy at this time of year (in the northern hemisphere) and cue the Star’s jokey and punning latest creature infestation scare main story: Invasion of the hairy clawed nippers… Britain on red alert over wonky-walking tearaways… Chinese crabs carrying up to 1m eggs blamed for scaring our cheery native crustaceans… – perhaps the fury crabs will eat the bedbugs?

I was sceptical of this view until I found his excellent deep dive into the case online, not sure if you can still find it. At the police interview Thomas Mair said nothing, not even the usual “No comment”. His brothers have seen the footage of this and are 100% that it is not their brother, going on hairline etc. Thomas Mair was described as far-right but there was no evidence of this. At home he had a couple of leaflets about the Brexit referendum, a Leave one and a Remain one I think. I do suspect that Richard D Hall is right about this. But we will never get the truth. Hall feels that all mainstream media has deep state people within in it.

Just love a good scrap – this one was an IDF colonel v meesh

The colonel told meesh that the BBC had been chirping claims since the hospital explosion carrying the Islamic claims without supporting evidence or challenge .

Yet when it came to IDF claims the BBC wanted independent evidence .

The interview went ballistic – meesh doesn’t openly lose very often but she was desperately casting about – she tried cases where the IDF account had changed after first reports – implying that the IDF is not telling the truth now but might later…..
….it was a stinger ….. afterward she had to have a chat with her mate bowen which amounted to ‘ Israelis are bastards arnt they ‘…. Bowen played the big journo ….

… but the damage is done – whatever report the bbc put out from the incident has painted the IDF as the guilty party ‘ it’s war ‘….
I wonder how soon the IDF will declare the BBC as a terrorist grouping because of support for Islamic Hamas ….

BTW – I’ve been running a theme about why Mishal Hussain hasn’t gone to Gaza yet . But I think either the BBC knows deep down beyond group think – where her sympathies lie – or that she is too scared to go and become a target …… or a mix of both ……

The BBc has pushed beyond acceptability by the IDF – I think – aad might find themselves under more control – quite rightly – and based in an Arab country where they have plenty of ‘friends ‘.

Biden has probably arrived in Israel by now – had his pad changed – been medicated and sent to the autocue and his cards and that thing in his ear …. As for sunak – thinking of going to Israel Thursday – really can’t see it as things are about to get worse …

Every day is a plus now ….

Gaza: BBC reporter and family left homeless again after Israel air strike warning
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-67139236

‘It was just before 3pm in Gaza on Tuesday. I was preparing to go live on BBC TV News when I received a call from my wife – almost in tears, the kids crying in the background.

They’d been told to leave the apartment we’d been staying in because of a warning the Israeli air force was going to bomb next door.’

What I do not understand is how BBC reporters who are actually live in Gaza can be considered ‘impartial and unbiased’.

This is 100% ’empathy’ as usual:

‘Honestly, I don’t know what to do – it is hard to be a reporter and try to look after my family like this. I struggle to find food and water for them. We now don’t have a home.’

But why were they bombing ‘next door’ Rushdi ?. Perhaps you should be looking there for who to blame about what happened.

Six BBC reporters taken off air as probe launched over pro-Palestine tweets
    https://www.ft.com/content/c998bfa4-ad8e-4c61-9117-61a57aa9a92a

‘The BBC has taken six reporters in the Middle East off air and launched an investigation into posts on social media that seemed to support activities of Hamas against Israel.’

I can only imagine how ‘impartial’ their reporting has been over the years until this extreme event happened and they showed their hand.

Absolutely typical of the complete biased farce the BBC has become.

I also see that from the latest BBC ‘Live Feed’ there must be conclusive evidence that it was a Hamas rocket because the narrative has changed completely.

They have delayed it as long as possible : I saw the reports with the evidence elsewhere last night.

The reality is the BBC can no longer be viewed as a credible, impartial source on the Gaza conflict. It reported Hamas claims uncritically. Forget the handbags over “terrorists”. That is a terrible place for the organisation to be. There needs to be a serious investigation.

No msm can. Or most social. Which is why the pursuit of speed by the former to ‘win’ the latter is idiotic, made worse by utter ideological corruption and propaganda.

That Hamas has the unquestioning support of the BBC AOC and squad, Champion, a chunk of Labour Surkeer dare not mention and brown Doctors posting in scrubs when two of their own tried to blow up Glasgow Arrivals points to them being made for each other.

It makes zero sense for the IDF to do this on purpose, and a lot for Hamas to try to, given history.

That anyone, from Jimmy Coogan to Rasin Brane, to try and conflate targeted reactive defensive measures with planned murder is either stupid or risible.

        Or, both.

Careless whispers shouted aloud from the BBC studios.

‘The BBC has apologised after one of its presenters said that “Israeli forces are happy to kill children” in an interview with the country’s former prime minister.

In an interview on Tuesday evening, she said: “The Israeli military are calling this a ‘military operation’, but we now know that young people are being killed, four of them under 18.

“Is that really what the military set out to do? To kill people between the ages of 16 and 18?”

Mr Bennett said: “Quite to the contrary. Actually, all 11 people dead there are militants. The fact that there are young terrorists who decide to hold arms is their responsibility.”

Ms Gadgil then added: “Terrorists, but children. The Israeli forces are happy to kill children.”’

The BBC has a huge responsibility to report very carefully, accurately and in an even-handed, balanced way in order to not provoke intense reactions and violent polarisation by using careless wording or allowing provocative and dangerously inflammatory lies to go unchallenged….and in the case of Gaza perhaps all out war in the Middle East which could easily draw in the major powers.

Today we again had Mishal Husain handed the ‘Israel/Gaza’ slot…why does she get that every day?

She had on a Palestinian spokesman who claimed the Israelis had at first said it was their missile, then he claimed it definitely was an Israeli airstrike, he claimed it was genocide, he claimed it was ethnic cleansing.

Husain made no attempt to challenge or query any of those statements and allowed him to fabricate and spread completely unverified ‘facts’…..for a start I don’t believe the Israelis claimed it was their missile at first….from all the reporting they said they were investigating the explosion….which is a completely different ‘fact’.

Note two things the Palestinian also said…one, that the ‘proof’ they had that this was an Israeli strike was ‘a feeling among the people at the hospital’….oh OK.
Two, that the explossion was not like the normal ones that destroyed buildings previously….oh really? Red flag there…Husain should surely have asked what he meant…did he mean that this might not have been an Israeli strike? But no, nothing from our flagship current affairs programme and its highly paid world renowned journalists.

Then we had on an Israeli spokesman. Naturally challenged on everything he said and then Husain asked if he would submit his evidence about the explosion in the hospital to independent verification….a natural question…but not one the BBC asks the Palestinians.

Then the Israeli made that point…Hamas can say anything it likes, it can claim any casualty figures, can claim Israel did this or did that, that a strike on a convoy was an Israeli strike and the BBC will weight its coverage towards giving Hamas’ version its stamp of approval and legitimacy whereas everything Israel says is up for intense and close scrutiny, challenge and scepticism.

He laid out the evidence that this was a Palestinian failed rocket launch but Husain completely dismissed it and rolled on as if he hadn’t said anything ironically claiming this was ‘all about what has happened’…whilst completely ignoring possible evidence of what actually did happened….prefering the fabrications and lies, all with no evidence, of Hamas.

They then wheeled on Bowen to counter everything the Israeli had said and to defend the BBC…nothing to see here guv, we’re completely innocent….naturally no-one on to say any different.

When the good old ‘Arab Street’ is close to exploding you might think the BBC would take great, great care in everything it says but no….Lyse Doucet was giving us a run down of that possible ‘explosion’ and Arab leaders’ reactions and carelessly made legend into fact as she said the Arab leaders had all come to conclusions….pause…..she then said without actually, explicitly, attributing this to the leaders, that ‘This was an Israeli airstrike, this was a war crime’. She made it sound as if this was her own conclusions on the origin of the explosion not the conclusions of the leaders.

The BBC’s Paul Adams….‘It’s a natural assumption to say this was an Israeli missile not an Hamas rocket.’…oh, right.

The BBC will try and list everytime the Israelis have hit a sensitive target so as to imply this was an Israeli strike but won’t list all the times Palestinian rockets have fallen inside Gaza killing their own people…infamously as when Jon Donnison claimed an Israeli strike killed the son of a friend in Gaza…broadcast worldwide only for it later to be shown to be a Hamas rocket.

Very careless reporting by all in the BBC that can be used to whip up feelings and end in war….not least Jews in Britain and around the world being attacked.

The BBC, the most dangerous organisation in Britain.

    As Guest Who points out….

This is a very interesting point in time.

Basically, it’s now beyond doubt that Hamas did it and not Israel.

So I will be watching very carefully how the various news media handle it now they know. It will be a cast iron indicator of how much they can be trusted.

The BBC for example are making sure they keep an element of doubt so the casual reader may well still think it was Israel. They do this a lot – they know that the longer they can keep something on-agenda, the more people will absorb the message before the truth is finally realised and the story – along with all the shouts of ‘war crime’ – will be suddenly dropped.

And of course all the Muslim countries will still blame Israel no matter what.

Truth is always the first casualty in war – but when it comes to the religion of peace, it was dead before the war started.
