I’ve just read that, yet another, young athlete has died suddenly after “medical complications”…You know, this is now becoming quite commonplace…

Shawn Barber was a Canadian pole vaulter and clearly a very good one because, so I believe, he was world champion…and tragically only 29 years of age.

Look, I don’t know why this apparently supremely ft young man should suddenly die, but…

Canada, under the deeply unpleasant regime of Justine Truffles, had one of the most stringent vaccine rules in the world.

    Just saying…

      Yes. Strange indeed.
Perhaps the BBC could investigate these unusual deaths.
On second thoughts- no. They really haven’t got the staff or the commitment to uncover and broadcast truths that are inconvenient to their agenda.
      Therein lies our problem.
We have a tax funded national broadcaster with a political agenda.
      Democracy? MY ARSE!

TOADY Watch #1 – oh dear, oh dear, something is not right
TWatO Watch #2 – ooops! lost one thousand there, Jonny

The PR Agency handling the Hamas account, otherwise known as the BBC, have been instructed by Mishal Husain, no doubt, to round up the civilian casualties to an impressive figure. First, it was 10,000, then it doubled to 20,000, then on TOADY this morning it was up to a claimed 25,000; this despite the IDF and Israeli government doing their best to limit civilian casualties.

We know two things about Hamas; they lie and they use the civilian population of Gaza as human shields. I don’t know if BBC Verify have been checking but on TWatO at lunchtime today, the latest claim for civilian casualties in Gaza of 25,000 was reduced by 1000 to 24,000 by Jonny Dymond. I hope an accountancy minded member of the IDF does a little audit of the graves in Gaza if and when peace returns there.

Would I be surprised if there was a discrepancy between the claims of Hamas and the true figure of civilian deaths among the Gazan Palestinians?

    Not in the slightest.

I don’t want to die for Israel, this might have been done differently but yet again Biden has backed the wrong horse and it’s yet another war we will lose.

If you think Russia and China aren’t discussing the reponse should Iran be attacked think again.

Netanyahu has some crazy belief he can expel all the Palestinians (not just Gaza) I want you to stop and think for a moment about the implications of that.

It doesn’t matter that the leaders are pro West or not, their populations are enraged, and if the leaders don’t do what the people want, they will be swept aside for one who will.

Put simply you have a black and white choice here, and it makes no difference what the BBC report. Either Netanyahu is stopped or Israel ceases to exist, and possibly us too. If that for you is a price worth paying then go lose your life in Israel, but don’t put the lives of others in danger for one mans blood lust.

And with that happy thought I’m putting up the weekend thread – having almost come to a sticky end today – courtesy of a HGV – with thanks to my Guardian Angel …
