It gets better. For those with proper permanent jobs there is a good chance they will ‘fall out’ with the elected council leader. With the councillors being amateurs, any resulting ‘redundancy’ will lead to either a high payout or a tribunal.
But don’t blame the senior management. They are just playing the system. As would I. The fault lies with the system.

rather it’s for a point in time
The full output over a day is measured in KWh
It might have been 15GW 15 mins later for all I know.
Wind can have low output either cos of lack of wind or too much wind.
In such conditions adding more capacity makes little difference ie two times nothing is still nothing.

The graph from which I quoted was for a whole week and the 9GW was essentially the average for the day and so did not show the variation you mention, which may or may not have occurred.
But it’s immaterial. Today is Thursday and so the day I referenced has now been dropped from the ‘past week’ period.

This a General rant – not specifically about the BBC … so ignore if you want ….
We all get tied down by the problem – issue – of this day . But how exactly did we get like this ?
For instance – who decided that the UK would be overwhelmed by the third world – going back to the 1950s through to now?
How did the welfare beveridge state turn into a monster ?
How did energy policy land up with overpriced electricity and gas ?
How did we land up with 7 million declared ‘disabled ‘
Or 1.7 million employed by the NHS ?
My comment isn’t about the blame game or party politics . I know – for instance – the Liberal Democrats disabled the building of new nuclear power stations 20 or 30 years ago ..
I could go further on other defective institutions – the military – the justice system ( plod ) …transport – road – rail … water industry – and ending manufacturing – … now it looks like steel industry is about to be ended too ….
See – I’m getting distracted by the ‘right now ‘ but all the above – as well as the drift to a one party woke socialist state came from somewhere – right ?

For a start Fed anyone who tried to warn of the consequences of all you mentioned had labels firmly attached to them, all of the usual…..racists……bigots……phobics. From the time of Enoch Powell to today there’s been no end of people screaming those insults and in the end you get worn down. There are some brave/ idiotic people who carry on and loose everything think of a gentleman TR but others like Mr Kitty and myself ran into a brick wall too many times so we sold up and left. Now is not the right time to say “ we told you so “ but it’s closer now.
Mrs kitty – I too am in the position where I could dump Blighty and live in a more comfortable country for the rest of my time . I get nearer to it by the month – at the moment I commute each month …

Of course I don ‘t think for a minute the Beeb could ever be considered impartial so I have to wonder why, at last, they would publish something actually considered “far right” (copyright every bleeding heart liberal on the payroll).
