Rapist jailed for trafficking and abusing girls
A shop worker who groomed and trafficked seven girls aged between 12 and 16 for sexual abuse has been jailed.
Bawan Harwe, 28, messaged his victims on social media under a fake name, offering them money and e-cigarettes to win their trust, before raping and abusing them.
Harwe’s accomplice, Sharam Muhamadi, who helped facilitate the abuse, failed to attend the hearing at Sheffield Crown Court and will be sentenced at a later date.

We keep hearing from many commentators that the pensions triple lock should end.
If pensioners get the inflation rise instead of whatever they get under the triple lock how much would be saved?
I think it will probably be a relatively small sum.
Most are on the old second class pension of under £10,000 so a 3.5% rise (£350) is about £30 a month.
A junior doctor, nurse or policeman with a rise of £350 would probably be under a 1% rise and for an mp it would be something like a 0.4% rise.
All pensioners would give up the triple lock if they could get the same rise (in £’s) as the minimum wage.
Why don’t interviewers question those who want to stop the triple lock with some real comparisons and the total sum that would be saved (what they get minus what they would get from inflation link) instead of implying that a huge sum will be saved (not what will probably be similar to a rounding error sum in real cash terms)
I think the argument is that money wasted on pensions could be put to better use as welfare payments for migrants and other folk who are more inclined to vote for Labour…
I have a contact who works in the Treasury and advises that a lot of thought has been given to how they can get rid of the state pension altogether. The intermediate steps are: end the triple lock; make it means tested to reduce the number of pensioners who qualify; increase the pension qualifying age to 70 in the medium term and possibly 75 in the long term. There has been discussion about paying people extra if they voluntarily defer the time they take their pension, along with ‘buy out’ schemes whereby people would be given a lump sum (based on their lifetime NI contributions) to opt out of the state pension altogether. There are legal issues with some of these ideas, and timescales extend up to 50 years out (so, HS2 will still be under construction…).
