She said this was done to ‘calm the situation’….and thus it was good lie. So a deliberate lie by the police in order to stop people knowing the truth because they couldn’t be trusted with it. Yes…seem to remember that was the police policy reference Rochdale and Rotherham in the ‘interest of community relations’ when they decided it was better to allow thousands of young white girls be raped and savagely abused than to take the rapists to court.
Times then wheeled in another Asian officer, the highly suspect Dal Babu, to, of course, target Farage.
Then we had the highly inconvenient announcement that counter-terrorism officers had taken over the case….upsetting Times’ best laid plans as Jo Coburn, ex BBC, was lining up to do her Farage take down. She obviously had a very carefully crafted script that had been sweated over for some time…and so she just ignored the terrorism announcement and spewed out her anti-Farage rant without mentioning that….apparently Farage had ‘made an attempt to politicise the situation within hours of Widdecombe’s murder’. Except of course he hadn’t. This is instead the Times’ own highly cynical attempt to politicise the murder to attack Farage.
Coburn ramped it up saying Farage had an interest in raising the issue[of Reform people being under threat]…and that is, she claims, not a legitimate interest. One might suggest it is very, very much a legitimate interest given the number of attacks on Farage himself[not least Jo Brand suggesting on the BBC that people should throw acid in his face] and indeed quite likely the attack on Ann Widdecombe.
Oh and yeah…we must, Coburn, said remember Jo Cox was attacked by a Right-wing person…that gets forgotten.
Hmmm…one, no…it’s never ever been forgotten and two you can see the desperation in Times people as they flay about wildly trying to make up some justification for their own hate campaign against Farage and Reform. Well yes, Widdecombe may have been the victim of a political attack but….
The Police aren’t coming out of this very well…clearly they lied to us for political reasons, and the Times is looking like it may well have blood on its hands…it is certainly the major driver of hatred and demonisation of Farage and Reform…its reporting goes way beyond legitimate ‘due scrutiny’ of a politician and looks more like a determined and coordinated attempt to destroy Farage and Reform by turning innuendo and half-truths into very sinister messaging with the tone and language clearly shaped to make the accusations more ominous and nastier than the reality.
Whatever the outcome and the motivations of the killer the Times will have a lot of questions to answer.

Officers investigating reports of serious offences alleged to have involved members of a religious group in Crewe, have now arrested an 11th person.
In March 2026 Cheshire Police was made aware of allegations of serious sexual offences, forced marriage and modern slavery, involving members of a religious group called the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light.
All of the offences are reported to have taken place in 2023 and involved one victim, a woman, who was a member of the group at the time the offences occurred.
Following a detailed investigation into the allegations, officers conducted three warrants in Crewe on Wednesday 29 April, leading to the arrest of six men and three women.

Counter-terrorism police are leading the investigation into a terrorist attack on Anne Widdecombe. Police say that the terrorist was acting alone, and they are not looking for any other terrorist connected with Widdecombe’s death.
The motive for the terrorist attack could be because Widdecombe was a fan of decedent Catholic music, ballroom dancing and culturally inappropriate dress.
Police say that there is nothing to suggest that the 28-year-old white man from Rotherham was motivated by national socialist politics, rape culture or left-wing police force ideology. When the Government announced its social media ban for under-16s, it published an indicative list of platforms that included Facebook, Instagram and X.
BlueSky was nowhere to be seen. The Government has since rowed back, insisting that it was only an indicative list.
We think it is more than a coincidence that these perceived centre-right platforms were included from the outset, while the left-leaning platform was omitted.
In Australia, where this Government borrowed the idea for the ban, BlueSky was not on the list. In typical fashion, however, it has since volunteered to be included.
Once Ofcom has finalised the regulations, we will have a clearer idea of what qualifies a platform for the ban.
In the latest episode of the FSU Podcast, Lord Young argues that the initial decision not to include BlueSky points to something quite alarming: that this is a selective ban.
The problem with a selective ban is whether Ofcom can genuinely be trusted to make politically impartial decisions that do not benefit the Government of the day.
That concern is particularly pertinent at the moment, given that the Government is pushing through legislation to give 16-year-olds the vote.
