The full advert the BBC has put out on TV is now supplemented by a radio version of the advert . Some say this is having the reverse result of the intention – namely more people cancelling their TV Licence – with that money- £180 – used on the state created ‘cost of living crisis ‘. Let’s hope …

LET THEM ALL OUT……..
Within hours of being appointed Defence secretary….yes….Defence Secretary, wild eyed Wes STREETING made an unguarded comment about prison overcrowding.
” Let them all out” oh, and how they laughed, did Wes mean it, well a lot of effort is going in to dismissing this as a harmless bit of banter. Banters fine when Wes banters, not so for the rest of us.
Worth remembering that both Wes’ maternal grand parents were jailbirds , so its just possible he did mean it.
“Better out than in” (c) Wes Streeting who controls the nations defences.
And the winner is – the telegraph – calling for the recall of parliament to discuss the early release of killers rapists and the rest … didn’t take long did it ..?
Keir Starmer – “I left the country better than when I found it.” Inshallah!
Dunder’Ed’s replacement
I know it is heresy – but it’s depressing that simple popular policies being thrown out by burnham appear to be really poorly planned .
Does he want to appear popular or incompetent so early in the illegitimate regime …?
Do it fast enough and no one can keep up – great tactic!
It’s strange that someone who has been scheming to become PM for so long now looks like someone without a clue – eg – the idea that rough sleeping can be stopped . Some like it …a life style choice …
Absolutely agree FedUp, the idea that rough sleepers are all unfortunate poor people who can’t afford a bed is laughable.
For many it’s a lifestyle choice and goes with begging, shoplifting and drug use.
It might sound like a noble idea to provide them with free funds to get a safe place to sleep however most would simply sink the money into more drugs which is what put them on the streets to begin with,
Rough sleepers to sleep outside No.10 of the North! HA HA HAH AHAH HA HA HA!
His knee-jerk populist grabbing at headline attention ideas such as giveaway bus fares and paid rough sleepers does not bode well when he is faced with real issues such as the now inevitable next huge money grab from NHS medics followed by local council staff, teachers, etc. etc. etc. just wait and watch it play out!

It appears that the ‘Lammy act ‘ is coming in on 1 September enabling killers -rapists – and the rest – to be released from prison after a third of the sentence .
It seems only emergency legislation can stop it – so parliament need be recalled as those pigs are not back in the trough until 1 September .
I bet there are lawyers looking to sue the state if their clients are now kept in …. And the Lammy act withdrawn …
“Deng Majek stabbed Rhiannon Whyte 23 times with a screwdriver in a frenzied 90-second attack in 2024 after following the 27-year-old to Bescot Stadium railway station in Walsall.
He was later caught on CCTV dancing and laughing.”
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c5yvwdgjpj3o
Just to add to the defective Lammy law – it will a bit of a stretch for burnham to blame the previous regime – they’ve already had 2 years to fix overcrowding but spent the time blaming the previous uniparty regimes for also failing … maybe decimation is the answer ….?
The nut job natalie fleet MP has resigned as wimmins minister – apparently not fired – she took over from another nothing nut job …. Who also prefered muslims to raped children ,,,Socialist wimmin…
ChatGPT: What has Andy Burnham said about Donald Trump?
In 2017, he told the Manchester Evening News he’d refuse to meet Trump during a planned state visit as a “matter of principle”. Burnham called for the government to block Trump from travelling to the United Kingdom.
In 2021, after watching the BBC’s fake news edit of January 6th, he said “Any UK politician who gave Trump the time of day should be ashamed right now”
The new left-wing British Prime Minister has appointed many leftist cabinet members who have all publicly insulted the US President over many years. In response, Trump has repeatedly called socialists “radical left thugs”, and anyone left-of-centre “Communists,” “Marxists,” or “fascists.” He regards Socialism as Satanic and Communism as evil, saying “We’re fighting Communists”.
Trump framed the legal cases against him as Communist-style political persecution, lawfare by a regime using state power to take down its opposition. He’s linked leftist ideology to the BBC lead “censorship-industrial complex,” and suppression of dissenting voices, comparing it to Communist information control. He frames mass immigration as a deliberate leftist strategy to import voters and destroy national identity, saying “they want to replace you.” Trump calls CRT in schools, DEI programs and transgender ideology, “Communist indoctrination” aimed at breaking down the family and Christian moral values. Trump calls man-made Climate a “Hoax” and backdoor Marxism, designed to crash the economy and impose government control.
However, Trump now hopes that Burnham will see the ‘light’ and abandon Socialism, abolish OFCOM and the BBC. He hopes that Burnham will now support the right-wing concepts of Glasnost and Perestroika, liberating the people of Great Britain from leftist repression and censorship. Time will see if this is the case.
Richard – does AI ever forget ? Burnham will eventually have his awkward moment in the Oval Office talking about ‘Britain’s long history of free speech ‘ – with JD looking at him like he is a c word ….
Apparently burnham has invited 47 to Manchester – but maybe there won’t be a meeting between them until the G20 next year – which I understand is to be held in …. Manchester …
I bet it AI was asked what the entire cabinet said about 47 – there would not be a good word ….but who cares – the UK has no value now – im looking forward to that UN Security Council seat being given to someone more worthy ….
Burnham seems to be acting like he is the return of Oasis to the charts or something…..
I was thinking more Gary Glitter
Re letting off early the arseholes who dragged a poor copper for a mile on a rope on the back of their car escaping arrest for the attempted robbery of an off road bike….. Who our great and good in government are saying release the poor lads….
If they go ahead, someone needs to buy a 48 sheet poster hoarding as close as possible to Downing Street with a large picture of the poor cop lads mangled and stripped remains after these maggots dragged him for a mile on the tarmac trying to escape.
“My work is done.” Keir Starmer
As a teenager and twenty something quite a few years ago I lived in Derby.
The most outstanding and dangerous thing I can recall was tackling “The Derby Mile” which entailed having a pint at every pub down a particular mile long road, it was not easy and occasionally led to some disorder.
However things have changed due to the influx of lots of new people from such as Pakistan…
Now I read that two such had a stab off in the city…
https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/news/derby-news/suspects-named-after-normanton-stabbing-11071594
The idiotic “One World” twats who signed off importing all this disgusting rubbish into our cities and consequently turning them into dangerous ghettos should be ashamed.
“A 40-year-old man was found with stab wounds and taken to hospital for treatment, where he remains in a serious condition.
In an update issued by Derbyshire Police, they said Adeel Hussain, 24, of Almond Street, Derby, and Nabil Barbhuiya, 29, of Kitchener Avenue, Derby, have been charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent.
Hussain is additionally charged with possession with intent to supply cannabis and acquiring or using criminal property.”

I keep seeing clips of Burnham’s first cabinet meeting as Prime Minister. Lucy Powell was sitting next to him clapping like a seal. On the other side of Burnham’s in a red dress was a woman who I assume is the Cabinet secretary holding a pen as if about to take the minutes. I can’t understand why it was appropriate for her, as a civil servant supposedly neutral, to applaud our Andy. Worse still was that she appeared to keep catching Andy’s eye in a flirtatious way. Perhaps Mrs Burnham has reason to keep Andy in Manchester.
I thought it was Lucy Powell who wouldn’t mind playing footsie under the table with him – she was practically salivating!
Romeo – Romeo …
The Labour Party have replaced a robot waste of space with a jumped up local council leader.

Mr aitken shows a certain affection for the BBC which I guess comes from the pension he gets from the BBC . He says BBC news is ‘good ‘ …. Then cites the anti brexit bias . Nothing about the paki rape gang denial …. The corruption of the legal system – the green crap …
The point me he makes about the resistance to mandatory funding of the BBC out of council tax or general taxation is a good one . For a ‘small ‘ amount of tax money – £4 billion ? The resistance and hostility would not be worth it ….
Small amount of money – if you are not struggling everyday.
Mr Aitken lost me in the final minute of his interview with Brendan O’Neil when he suggested as one of core productions by the BBC, the Attenborough documentaries. Many years ago they were fine, but then he became a zealot for climate change. In the days before online, I would turn on to watch Attenborough, and it might not be at the start, and would time how long before he mentioned the climate. It got down to being regularly less than 5 minutes. I stopped watching.
It’s obvious Burnham hasn’t a clue. He looks and acts like a child who has been given the keys to a sweet shop. An opening salvo of obviously unplanned and uncosted sweeteners look pretty silly.
It’s all very serious of course.
Flotsam – im trying to imagine the discussions around the announcements he has made . Are people really to be impressed after they realise these changes are next to nothing ? That energy costs will go up anyway ? That business costs have gone up Far more than any ‘cut ‘?
Is it to try to own the news ‘agenda ‘? – the impact of the Lammy law has already tainted the burnham regime and it’s only day 4 .
With the oil price back up to 100 the economy will continue to tank ….
Fed and Flots, I guess that Bodybags is just applying the ‘way of life’ for a Mayor, where everything he wants is given to him, he has ‘responsibilities’, but with a vast supply of flunkies hanging around him, he really doesn’t have to do very much to earn respect and trust.
It was so bad under Starmer’s weakness, but now, having the ‘small town’ approach – yeah, I know Manchester isn’t that small – but actually running a country really does need some super-strength skills and judgement, and even though a spell as some sort of minister under Brown – another disaster – is proposed as experience, he really is already way out of his depth!
Imagine him discussing a potential war with Putin, or having to tell President Trump what his miserable crowd have to offer! Small town politics just won’t cut it!
The DE gives him 280 days – that’s up to around the end of the fiscal year. My Saturday Shilling goes on November this year…
Scrob – other clues about the approach of burnham – is in the appointments – Louise haigh in charge of ‘ethics ‘? A fraudster . Even if she is brilliant – the optics look dire – same with streeting at defence – I mean – really? Mad ed at the FCO …? The proven liar business secretary …. The inept Nandy kept on at ‘culture ‘ as a favour ?
It seems inevitable that burnham will impose a higher wealth tax – whatever John healey thinks …. But so much tax now goes on servicing national debt there can be no improvement in living standards / public services even if wanted . We’re doomed … so look after number 1..
Can’t they just send their money in – why not? Who is stopping them?
Gary Lineker won a multi-year tax dispute with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) regarding a £4.9 million tax bill for his presenting duties on the BBC and BT Sport. HMRC argued that Lineker should have been taxed as a standard employee, but a tribunal judge ruled he was a freelancer who held direct contracts
I realised Burnham is still nothing more than a mayor when he lowered the cap on bus fares (which incidentally had been fixed at that level by Liz Truss). Are bus fares really the most pressing issue for people struggling to make ends meet. He then went on to the homeless. Isn’t this also something for mayors to sort out. Burnham obviously thought so when he was mayor. The last time I walked through London in an evening past several tents occupied by homeless people, they were very obviously not British. Who does Burnham think he is helping, because I don’t think it is our veterans.
I really don’t think Burnham has a clue what he needs to do. I wish some journalist would ask him what lessons he learned from his mistakes over mid-Staffs.
You wait fourteen years for a red PM – and two come along at once.
We first focus this morning on the giveaway Metro front page where cartoonist Guy (with apologies to Reg Smythe) draws: PM Andy Burnham… reimagined as iconic cartoon northerner Andy Capp – cartoon northerner – they got that right.
PM reveals transport vision… Bus fares capped at £2 to help amid cost of living crisis (freebie Metro)
On the Buses was a British television sitcom that was broadcast on ITV from 1969 to 1973. – thank you Wiki.
How long before some disgruntled wag quotes Inspector Cyril Blakey’s catchphrase: “I ‘ate you, Burham” – oh, I just did it.
On the contrary, we all love him at the moment. He’s all about the giveaways and the freebies.
Burnham announces 20% cut in business rates for pubs, clubs and live music venues in England (Live Reporting, Edited by Sam Hancock and Caitlin Doherty, BBC – riding tandem on the Burnham honeymoon special)
This is the new PM’s third policy announcement in as many days, having already said most bus fares in England will be capped at £2 from January and VAT will be cut from household electricity bills in October (BBC)
One does admire a close juxtaposition of headlines that tends to put the lie to a prevailing media narrative. Our BBC does the job in not two but one headline: Rain to return this weekend as parts of UK on brink of drought (Chris Fawkes, Lead weather presenter, BBC)
Another, more recent TV comic character catchphrase came to us care of that Matt Lucas grotesque creation Vicky Pollard…
…famous for her rapid, rambling gossipy, denial of outrageous actions and her most well-known quotes and excuses that perfectly capture her chaotic, defensive personality…
“Yeah, but, no, but, yeah, but…”: Northern Ireland had a very wet June, recording 67% more rain than average, and it was also very wet in western Scotland. However, July has been much drier than average in Northern Ireland and most of Scotland, though the rain has continued in the Highlands, with Aultbea already reaching the July average rainfall, and with more on the way. (BBC weather)
I’m afraid that’s the sort of confusion that comes of treating the weather like some record attempting sports event. Forever hankering for the hottest eva, driest eva headlines. For reasons of the agenda.
There’s a real sense that the job of PM is really just about managing the national decline.
Glasgow set to welcome the world for scaled back Commonwealth Games… When the fastest man on the planet won Commonwealth relay gold for Jamaica in 2014, more than 50,000 fans cheered him home at Hampden. But the athletes seeking to emulate Usain Bolt when the Games return to Glasgow – including mile world record holder Josh Kerr – will be competing at Scotstoun Stadium in front of 11,000 spectators. (BBC Scotland)
Glasgow stepped in when the Australian state of Victoria pulled out of hosting the Games in July 2023… Organisers had originally estimated the event would cost A$2.6bn (£1.35bn) and the state government had billed it as a boost for the regions. But the projected bill soared to more than A$6 billion (£3.11bn). Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews said the new figure was “more than twice the estimated economic benefit” it would bring to the state. (BBC)
But in September 2024 a deal, backed by the Scottish government, was agreed for Glasgow to host “a scaled back, but high-quality” event. (BBC)
I hear athletes will be ferried between venues in a luxury camper van and in addition to the traditional gold, silver and bronze medals, prizes will include a robotic lawnmower, an ornate wine coaster, Le Creuset and Joseph Joseph kitchen implements, an Alessi teapot and various Molton Brown toiletries.

“LABOUR’S candidate for Govan has promised to pay staff at his luxury city centre hotel the Glasgow Living Wage after he was accused of “scandalous” treatment of workers by a trade union.
Last week, Imran Alam’s Brunswick Hotel posted a recruitment advert for a part-time night porter, promising to pay only the national minimum wage, which, from Friday, will be just £9.50 an hour for over 23s.
However, the Glasgow Living Wage – introduced by Labour in 2009 – is set to rise to £9.90 an hour on Friday.

Im trying to think of another meaningless ‘cost of living ‘ cut burnham will announce on Friday . There is a ‘grid ‘ in number 10 of the strategy the new regime will use to show us how great they are …
….. maybe they’ll extend the vat cut on tickets to Lego land – or cut vat on Everton football shirts …. ( btw – why isn’t footy taxed more ?)…
Surely fifty grand a week means they pay a chunk of tax?
Do these clubs all have offshore accounts, or are they paid in cash…?
I guess they have the same accountants as bBC execs and flunkies!
I heard that someone doing an hour-long show there, is allowed to have a Uber to pick them up, take them to the studio, and hang about for the allotted time, plus wee-stops, makeup, extra interviews etc., then cart them off home! And all on the bBC expenses scam!
Absolutely bonkers!
Scrob – I was thinking that in the scheme of things the huge amount of money floating around top footy is well out of kilter with real life … and the exploitation of fans is pretty industrial …
I am of low taxes low government – work or starve – but in the current environment – footy seems ‘odd ‘
‘Exploitation’ sums it all up – it leads to proper (?), commercial organisations like Sky, making a fortune from football supporters, and the bBC has just a few sundry bods with very little charisma – Mind you, I’m remembering the bearded bloke from years ago, (but I never really watched the stuff then)…

Then, you get to the comments. The BBC is pure propaganda now.

– the the record – i dont believe in the ‘green agenda ‘ and say ‘drill baby drill ‘…

A hapless sounding ‘first secretary to the treasury ‘ – Emma Reynolds …
was asked by our Justin about the coming release of bad criminals under the Lammy law … she was shaky to say the least – as a member of the TTK cabinet which approved that law …..
Then she was asked about cutting the business rate her previous regime had imposed destroying small business …
I didn’t realise until the end that she is first secretary to the treasury … which is usually occupied by someone with a brain – not this time .
She sounded happier when she remember what the press briefing ‘if asked ‘ questions and replies … pretty pitiful …
Btw – Reynolds has never had a real job – according to wiki – and didn’t mention her constituency once …
… this was followed by the Tory traitor – David gauke – who is responsible for the Lammy Law – causing bad criminals to be released after a third of the sentence ….
So kill someone – get 6 years for manslaughter – do a year on remand pre trial = 2 years jail time – meaning you do a maximum of 4 years jail time for killing … final couple of years in a nice cat c open prison ….

Lineker wants to be taxed more. Let’s face it though, Lineker isn’t a wealth creator, he’s a second rate media person who has his snout in the trough completely risk free, no outlay or investment required. Good for him but hardly typical of people running businesses generating wealth in the real world. He’s super wealthy which means he can afford to pay more tax and still be super wealthy, the same does not apply to normal middle income earners.
The only way forward for the country is for Government spending to be cut, massively. What money it does spend should be done effectively and efficiently, something successive Governments have failed to do since WW2.
Lineker appears alongside Rolf Harris, Jimmy Savile and Fred West in disastrous Walkers campaign

I keep hearing a new prison will cost £1 billion.
That’s misleading.
If we take all the non violent, tv license dodgers, Twitter posters and the like, they can all be housed in some kind of Nightingale built prison, Army barracks or on a Bibby Stockholm type of boat.
They don’t need a new prison with 6 foot thick walls.
The current prisons could hold the violent prisoners, murderers, paedo’s and similar, there’s enough space there.
If someone escapes from the less secure new prisons they could be sent to the old prisons as a punishment but I think they would behave.
That’s how we can solve the prison crisis.
Saying a prison costs £1 billion is like saying how much a car costs. A Nissan could do the job but you quote the price of a Porsche.
“When it can be said by any country in the world, my poor are happy, neither ignorance nor distress is to be found among them, my jails are empty of prisoners, my streets of beggars, the aged are not in want, the taxes are not oppressive, the rational world is my friend because I am the friend of happiness. When these things can be said, then may that country boast its constitution and government.”
– – Thomas Paine, Rights of Man – –
For prisoners we have failed them, for society we have taxed them and for families we have removed hope from them.
A suggestion of what is needed:
* Gardening daily for all prisoners – life skills, manual labour, exercise, time to reflect
* Persistent weeding as an activity – no pesticides
* Vegan diet – waste into manure?
* Self sustaining where possible on all aspects
* Grow hemp to create own clothes
* Generate own electricity for needs
* Water wheel to bring in water – manual process
* Not much concept of leisure time – work/sleep/think during labour
* Work only in daylight – reduces power consumption
* Goods sold as money – for when released
* Food produced given to prisoners’ own family – a way to provide for them in a big way
* Prisoners given choice between Lazy Prison (current system) and Active Prison (garden, dynamo)
Out of reoffending, overcrowding, prison population and cost – this would definitely reduce the costs, and possibly reduce all of the others.

Bodybag’s troupe of advisors include this guy
That’s Mr Potato Head
You could include the BBC telly tax, it is a Government Tax after all. £3.5 Billion
The MSM practices a sort of unconscious duality – for instance today the telegraph reports on the reduced sentence of a plod whose leg was broken during an assault – the police federation plea to uphold the sentence denied by Lammy …. And then there is a 77 invader nut job who stabbed a 67 British man to death … getting ‘an indefinite hospital order ‘ …
Plenty of newsprint about the crime … not so much about the afterwards – when the vermin are quietly released before time …
All going according to the UN plan.
The Left have always been good at denigrating their political opponents.
The Right should do the same. Lefties are the real Scum.
“People can already give money or stocks voluntarily to the Treasury using its donation facility.”
“Millionaires including former footballer Gary Lineker and music producer Brian Eno have written to new prime minister Andy Burnham asking to be taxed more.
In an open letter, 120 well-off Britons told Burnham: “We can afford it. We’re not talking about higher taxes on those who get up and go to work for their income every day, but on the very richest whose income is derived from the wealth they hold.”
Organised by Patriotic Millionaires, the letter said it would lead to a more equal society, and urged a “devolution of wealth and power from the very richest”.

“Millionaires are a patriotic bunch,” the letter states. “We love this country and we want it to succeed.

“Norway’s Sovereign Wealth Fund, officially known as the Government Pension Fund Global, is the largest fund of its kind globally, valued at over $2 trillion. Managed by Norges Bank Investment Management, it converts the country’s oil and gas revenues into a diversified, global portfolio to finance the Norwegian welfare state for future generations.”
“Norway’s sovereign wealth fund (the Government Pension Fund Global) is so large—surpassing 2.2 trillion—because of massive North Sea oil revenues, aggressive global financial investments, and strict fiscal discipline”

There is a limit to how much they can drain to maintain the structural integrity of the storage salt caverns. Point reached now.
“On March 31, 2022, President Joe Biden announced that his administration would release 1 million barrels of oil per day from the reserve for the next 180 days, selling it at an average price of $96 per barrel. The 2022 release became the largest ever SPR sale and lowered the SPR to its lowest levels in 40 years.[12] After oil prices declined during the second half of the year, in December the administration announced it would begin replenishing the SPR in early 2023, expecting to purchase oil at a lower price than it was sold at, a process that would take months or years to complete.[13][14][15] The Biden administration continued to release reserves in 2023, selling off 45% of the SPR by September 2023.[16] The Department of Energy unveiled plans to purchase oil at a price of $79 per barrel or less, but has since purchased oil at higher prices. As of April 2024, further purchases were cancelled because of rising oil prices.[12][17]”
