Shadow cabinet seek to defuse Jeremy Corbyn Syria row

Senior shadow cabinet members are seeking to defuse a row over UK air strikes in Syria that threatens to split the Labour Party.

Leader Jeremy Corbyn is against air strikes – putting him at odds with more than half of his top team.

He faced warnings of resignations after he wrote to Labour MPs rejecting David Cameron’s case for military action.

But Labour deputy leader Tom Watson and others who disagree with him say they will not be resigning.

The BBC almost ignores the fact that senior Labour MPS are calling for the leader of the Labour Party to resign…a huge story surely?  Not for the BBC who seem all too eager to play down any bad news for Corbyn.

They certainly know of the call to resign as it was made by one Labour MP on BBC radio…From the Independent:

‘The first Labour MP to publicly call on Mr Corbyn to stand down, Ms Mactaggart, who agrees with him in opposing British intervention in Syria, said his “weak leadership” was causing damaging divisions in the party and was failing the party’s responsibility to hold the Government to account. 

“He hasn’t got a strategy to lead the party from where it is to where it needs to be and the people of the country can see that,” she told BBC Radio Berkshire.

“I think it [his leadership] probably is unsustainable. The problem is that my party… doesn’t have the hunger for power that the Conservative party has and the Conservative party is good at getting rid of leaders who they can see aren’t getting to lead the party to victory – my party isn’t.”

Asked whether he should stand down, she said: “I think that would be a sensible strategy because I think that the division at the moment is causing real problems.”

Her comments were immediately echoed by Mr Spellar, who told shadow cabinet members not to resign if Mr Corbyn refused to give a free vote on air strikes.’

The BBC itself merely reports her saying this…

‘Another ex-minister, Fiona Mactaggart, said Mr Corbyn’s leadership was “weak” and “unsustainable”, although she was also unconvinced about the case for bombing Syria.’

No mention of her call to resign though they do mention Spellar’s call for Corbyn to resign…..but it is way down at the bottom of the report…

‘Labour MP John Spellar, a member of the defence select committee, said Mr Corbyn’s behaviour over the Syria vote debate had been “unacceptable”.

And he urged shadow cabinet members considering resignation to stand their ground, telling BBC Radio 5 Live: “If anyone should resign after this incident, it should be Jeremy Corbyn.”‘

Shouldn’t such a calamatous breakdown in trust within the Labour Party be headline news not buried at the bottom of the page where most readers won’t bother going to?

At a time when, due mostly to Muslim anti-Semitism, Jews are saying….

‘There is no future for Jews in Europe’

…..Shouldn’t we know who we’re dealing with when someone aspires to be the Prime Minister of Britain?….Why does the BBC neglect to do eye-opening exposés of Corbyn and his dodgy associates like the one below?

A Refuge
A man battered in Parliament, clobbered in the media, and berated by his own MPs needs a welcoming refuge.

Jeremy Corbyn does have one – the Finsbury Park Mosque.

Labour’s leader paid a visit last Friday. He had nothing but praise for the mosque, saying “I strongly support it”, “I value this mosque”, and “I admire the participation of the community in this mosque and the role this mosque plays in the community”. He also offered greetings on behalf of “sister” Diane Abbott.

The mosque is keen too. No wonder. Here’s its chairman Mohamad Kozbar:

‘He [Corbyn] has been consistent in opposing the controversial counter-terrorism laws that hugely impact communities, and specifically Muslims, introduced since the Iraq war of 2003.’

Kozbar shares Corbyn’s “our fault” world view too. Our foreign policy is to blame:

‘While some may dismiss a connection between foreign policy and life at home, it is sadly a reality. Foreign interference by some Western powers has made things worse which in effect impact on Muslims in the UK – the young in particular.

It is no surprise therefore to see that a small minority of young British men and women have decided to join and fight alongside the extremists abroad, in recent times the so-called Islamic State.’

The relationship is very deep. Corbyn has been a champion of the mosque for years and has held surgeries on the premises. Islington Council does its bit too. It has gifted £78,500 to the mosque over its last four financial years.

This is outrageous. The Finsbury Park Mosque is a pillar of the extremist community. It should be scrutinised, criticised and shunned, not lauded and funded.

Interesting that a Muslim, Hamas hardliner Mahmoud al-Zahar, is praising the French for expelling Jews, from their ghettos, in 1253 who ‘sucked the blood of France…they shed the blood of the French, slaughtered them, stole their money and conspired against them….The French had no choice but to expel them.’  A warning from history for any who shed French blood, slaughter them and conspire against them?

The Spectator doesn’t do a great deal on the climate front, but when it does, it does it very well. At the moment they have a long piece (£, but you may get a free look) by David Rose on Judy Curry, which although containing little that will be new to BH readers will be informative for many.

If it’s pure entertainment you want, they also have a preview of Paris from Hugo Rifkind (£), a man with a wonderful facility for words, but also one who is just a moderately loud repeater of metroliberal certainties on the state of the climate. His effort this week is rather more thoughtful than usual, but he still retains some odd notions. Observing, quite correctly, that everyone in the UK is backing off green policy, he says that as a country we are starting to look a bit provincial:

Germany’s big push for renewables (which was admittedly predicated on an hysterical and frankly stupid post-Fukushima fear of nuclear) is surging ahead, in precisely the manner that Scotland’s could be if anybody still gave a damn.

This seems strange because according to Wikipedia, renewables as a whole generated just 11% of German energy last year – a strange kind of surging. And the renewables industry are facing a series of reforms to the subsidy regime that is going to make life rather harder for them.

He also seems to think that China is on board with the green cause:

China now worries enormously about CO2 emissions, and doesn’t just pretend to in order to stop Europe shouting so much.

China is famously opening one new coal-fired power station per week, a strategy that would be strange for a nation that was slightly concerned about CO2 emissions, let alone one that was worrying enormously.

But it’s when he gets to the new solar power station in Morocco that he really goes off the rails. This facility has been getting greens very excited – see for example Roger Harrabin here – in recent days. Here’s Hugo’s take:

With far less fanfare, Morocco is opening a vast solar plant next month in its otherwise useless desert, and aims to get 42 per cent of its energy from renewables (far more than us) by 2020.

With weary inevitability this turns out to be complete drivel. Every time a renewable power station is launched, its installed capacity is rapidly transformed into an expected level of power generation. These can easily be different by an order of magnitude, and perhaps by a factor of four for desert-based solar.

A little light Googling reveals that this is precisely what has happened here. The Moroccan government has actually set itself a target of 42% of installed generation capacity being renewables by 2020. So Hugo has made a howler of fairly epic proportions. But he is a wordsmith, and we should therefore be charitable if he struggles with numbers. Roger Harrabin, who is supposed to be a specialist in these areas, did exactly the same thing. There the howler is harder to excuse.

Complete drivel from Harrabin and his ilk cheerleading climate change alarmism?  How unusual.

Anonymous hackers’ list of ‘pro-ISIS’ Twitter accounts they claim to have taken down included BBC News, Barack Obama Hillary Clinton

The group released what it said was a hit list of 20,000 pro-ISIS Twitter accounts via anonymous-text sharing site Pastebin, the list actually includes accounts for US President Barack Obama, US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, BBC News, the New York Times, CNN, and other individual journalist accounts.  

The BBC has always tried to downplay the amount of immigration to this country and has been far, far more intent on pushing supposed benefits of immigration than in exposing the problems….going so far as to commission a poll in Romania and Bulgaria to get some figures it could work with and told us that there was ‘No indication of huge Romanian-Bulgarian influx’…..unfortunately not many people believed the BBC’s interpretation of their expensive polling.

Seems, once again, the BBC’s critics were right, as today’s figures show, about the level of Romanian immigration…

• New record for net migration figures, ONS says
• Number who migrated to Britain in the year was 636,000
• EU migrants arriving in Britain jumps 42,000 to 265,000
• Romania and Bulgaria arrivals are a main factor in the rise
• Britain is home to 8 million foreign-born for first time
• Romanians registering in Britain triple in just one year

And of course the net migration of foreigners to Britain is much higher than the overall net migration figure when you strip out the British immigrant and emigrant numbers.

How long can this go on for?  The BBC never seems to seriously consider that there might just need to be a limit to immigration but then when you have senior BBC reporters such as Mark Easton actually taking part in conferences about immigration, speaking at them not reporting from them, you shouldn’t hold out much hope for any impartial treatment of the subject.

The BBC is always very concerned about the possibility of the ‘Far Right’ on the march again…the BBC is however quite unconcerned about the Far Left despite the fact that the Far Left has a history as bad if not worse than, say, the National Socialists.

Where were the BBC warnings from history about this?…..

Athens on edge after explosion severely damages buildings

A bomb has exploded outside the headquarters of Greece’s business federation, in the first major attack since Alexis Tsipras assumed power in January.

Police rushed to the scene after two Greek newspapers received warning calls at 3am that a bomb had been placed outside the entrance to the business federation.

Although there was no immediate claim of responsibility, suspicion has been quick to fall on imprisoned anarchists, who recently issued a call to arms in a manifesto posted online.

The proclamation, co-signed by Nikos Romanos, a young anarchist in prison for an armed bank robbery, urged Greeks to ensure a “black December” by taking part in “a month of coordinated actions” against banks, department stores, schools, universities and city halls, “spreading the message of rebellion, [placing] incendiary devices against fascists and bosses”.

“Our proposal is simple,” the manifesto declared. “An action campaign by the name Black December, which will be the detonator for the restart of anarchist insurgency inside and outside the prisons.”

Lord Hall Hall has spent much of the last year protecting the BBC’s very, very privileged and entrenched position when what he should have been doing is overseeing its news service and reining in the worst excesses of bias and foolishness that results in the BBC defending the mass murderers, killing in the name of Islam, in Paris.

Lord Hall Hall betrays everything the BBC should stand for and should be held accountable for his organisation’s aiding and abetting of the Islamist cause.

Even today we have three examples of the BBC trying to manipulate its audience’s perceptions of events…two by omission the other by a deliberate sleight of hand.

The first is a tale of a BBC star being abused by a Muslim with what can only be called hate speech for the way she dressed and the fact that she was a woman out alone…..if a non-Muslim spoke like that to a Muslim woman in a Niqab that would be classed as hate speech…why the difference?  The BBC would be all over that story.

The BBC has not reported this story of ‘racial’ abuse….even though the victim is one of its own employees….the BBC would rather cover up for a Muslim extremist than defend its own employee in the interest of ‘community cohesion’.

The second example is classic BBC, taking a swipe at its commercial and political rival, the Murdoch Sun, and at the same time promoting the Islamist agenda.  The Sun published the results of a survey into Muslim attitudes which revealed that a large percentage of Muslims have sympathy with Jihadis in Syria….this naturally produced a backlash from aggrieved Muslims and their useful idiot friends on the left.

The BBC published two stories on this…one in BBC Trending, the social media being left-wing dominated BBC Trending is a vehicle that seems designed to give cover to reporting that is predominantly about left wing concerns…mainly race or Islam….BBC Trending is knowingly biased.

Hashtag mocks Sun survey on Muslim ‘sympathy’ for IS

Record complaints for Sun UK Muslim ‘jihadi sympathy’ story

Curious thing that in neither story does the BBC make reference to its own survey of Muslim attitudes towards Jihadis in which 27% were found to be sympathetic to Jihadi killers….

27% of the 1,000 Muslims polled by ComRes said they had some sympathy for the motives behind the Paris attacks.

Of course the BBC tried to downplay that survey as well presenting a rosy picture of Muslim attitudes that are belied by reality….and as nearly 80% of the Muslims surveyed were outraged by cartoons of Muhammed who can doubt that 27% is a rather conservative figure?

Curiously the BBC also seems to have ignored another news story about Muslims in the UK that doesn’t fit with the BBC’s own narrative….

You may remember the BBC also totally ignored the astonishing expose by C4’s Dispatches programme ‘Undercover Mosque’ which revealed what the extremists were saying behind the closed doors of British mosques.  The BBC instead spent the same week trashing Jade Goody for a ‘racist’ comment she made in the heat of the moment during an argument in the Big Brother house…great to see what the BBC’s real priorities are….never mind extremist Muslim hate speech, instead launch an all out, week long attack on a white (with a mixed-race father), working class girl.

Odd isn’t it what the BBC prioritises and what it seeks to hide.  Three Muslim girls go off to be Jihadi brides and the BBC is there for them and their families….however, Muslim women aiding and abetting the radicalisation and recruitment of such girls in the name of Islam and the BBC ignores it.

DNA study finds London was ethnically diverse from start

Well yes…it was a city established by Roman Invaders with soldiers who came from all around Europe and beyond…as the BBC knows full well….

Who was in the Roman army?

Only men could be in the Roman Army. No women. Every Roman soldier was a Roman citizen. He had to be at least 20 years old. He was not supposed to get married while he was a soldier. Most soldiers in the Roman Empire came from countries outside Italy. There were Roman soldiers from Africa, France, Germany, the Balkans, Spain and the Middle East.

Ghosh’s contention is that because they have found some skeletons with DNA from North Africa that means that Britain was a wonderfully multi-cultural land of immigrants …so why worry about immigration now?…that of course ignores the fact we’re not Romans, let alone North African, and that debate around immigrtion centres mostly on space and resources, quality of life, as well as cultural and identity issues…..he doesn’t mention that at least two of the skeletons were probably from slaves…one being a gladiator and one a girl from North Africa.

‘The analysis reveals what some of the very first Londoners looked like and where they came from.

The first results are from four people: two had origins from outside Europe, another was from continental Europe and one was a native Briton.’

I imagine the BBC would come to a similar conclusion about the wondrous multiculturalism of Russia if they looked at graves in Moscow and found some Germans there….conclusion all Russians are in fact descended from German invaders…..no such thing as a ‘Russian’.

The BBC’s strange take is that because London was established by the Romans it is OK to dismiss the identity and existence of the rest of the population of Britain.

The population of Britain may have been in flux with various invasions but for the last 1000 years it has remained fairly stable as DNA studies show….nearly every Brit has DNA that links them to the old Britons and Celts….something the BBC is desperate to deny.

The Guardian blows the BBC’s narrative apart….

Perhaps that’s why we are so often called  ‘Anglo-Saxons’……no surprise there then….that should put an end to all those smug left wing comedians whinging about our alien ‘German’ Royal Family.

The Telegraph also undermines the BBC’s agenda….

Ken Olisa: The most powerful black man in Britain

He’s the Queen’s escort in London who locked horns with John Bercow and has a library named after him at Cambridge – not bad for a boy who grew up without a loo in Nottingham

You  might have thought such an inspiring story from a black role model would be something that the BBC would trumpet.  Seems not.

The story did get a mention on 5LiveDrive (about 17:55) when they interviewed Ken Olisa about the Black ‘power list’…..The BBC’s immediate take was that such a list proved there was a glass ceiling in business and society…ie  Britain is racist…which is an odd conclusion…a conclusion Olisa himself roundly dismissed telling the BBC that there clearly was no glass ceiling, as the power list showed, opportunities exist for Blacks as much as anyone else, therefore he suggested there was another reason that explains why some black people don’t get into high places…such as because they don’t think they can so they don’t even try….belief that they will fail is a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Now where might black people get the idea that they are victims and eternally condemned to the fringes of society?  Could it be from organisations like the BBC that peddle a view of life that helps create a sense of victimhood and hopelessness when in reality the opportunities are there for the taking if only people weren’t brainwashed into thinking they are hopeless and helpless by lefty organisations and black grievance agitators with an agenda?

There are lots of other reasons you can’t get on – you’re incompetent, you can’t speak properly, you can’t spell, you don’t get to work on time. But it’s not because you are black.” ‘

Once again the BBC is shown to be an organisation whose ‘do-gooding’ actually does more harm to race relations and the prospects of black people than good…..as with immigration, Islam and the economy where the BBC line advanced with determined and wilful blindness as to the truth by its employees on each of these subjects has been dangerous and misguided.

Speakers at the Quiz A Muslim event in Bedford included Taji Mustafah, of radical Islamic organisation Hizb-ut Tahrir, and Moazzem Begg, a former Guantanamo Bay inmate and founder of campaign group Cage, whose director called Jihadi John a ‘beautiful young man’.

The panellists said that there is an ‘Islamic’ duty to ‘struggle’ for an ‘Islamic state’, as 132 were executed in shootings and suicide bombings.’

Oh no hang on the BBC does tackle this nest of Islamists…or not…listen to the condescending sneer from the BBC presenter (Three Counties)as he reads out the Mail’s headline…and then listen to his description of the Islamist ‘5Pillars’….

Panorama’s John Ware, the BBC’s ‘outlier’ when it comes to revealing the truth about Islam in the UK, knows the truth about 5Pillars and its deputy editor…

‘…..a mouthy young Islamist called Dilly Hussain to describe Khan as “the government-friendly desperado”. He is deputy editor of a new website called 5Pillars which refers favourably to the extremist organisation Hizb-ut-Tharir as “working for the re-establishment of the Caliphate”.

While Hussain sermonises about “Islam’s true teachings of brotherhood” he also does a particularly venomous line in abuse against the “sisterhood”, describing Khan as an “airhead” who belongs to an “ultra-minority of secular liberal ‘Muslims’ who service nothing and no one but Islamophobes.” He has likewise called another female Muslim critic a “stupid liberal cow”, a “fat cow” and a “p***head” who writes “drunken liberal garbage” and should “do one”.

The personal vituperation and constant smearing by Muslims of co-religionists who dare to challenge this kind of non-violent extremist narrative helps explain why more have not put their heads above the parapet.’

Why oh why is it so impossible for the BBC’s everyday presenters to get their act together and know what they are talking about when it comes to Islam and its propagandists?
