JUST 20 MINUTES.

The trouble with BBC bias lies not in finding it, but rather in avoiding it. Take the Today programme – please. I listened to it this morning for just twenty minutes from 7.05 t0 7.25 and was astounded by the series of propagandist items masquerading as news. First up we had Islam, a BBC favourite. This time round we were treated to someone from the Muslim Council of Britain explaining … Continue reading

RELAX – CRIME IS GOING DOWN.

I caught the PM news headlines this evening on BBC Radio 4 and they were feverishly retailing the notion that crime is at an all-time low in England and Wales. There was a consistent stream of government friendly sound-bites from the PM gang suggesting that it is only our “perceptions” about crime that we now have to fear. The BBC breathlessly relates that Home Secretary Jacqui Smith is “extremely pleased” … Continue reading

WE ARE ALL HEZBOLLAH?

Well then, if Hezbollah were hoping to milk the release of their heroic child-killer Samir Kuntar, the BBC sure has obliged. Did you see their stomach-churning coverage of the “militant” Kuntar’s return? The bit that really irked me was the BBC’s statement that “Kantar had been in jail since 1979 for the deadly guerrilla raid in which he killed the child, her father and a policeman.” It was not a … Continue reading

PRODUCE IT, FLOG IT, DENY IT!

I was entertained by this quote from Liam Keelan, head of daytime at the BBC, who seeks to explain Beeb policy towards property make-over programmes. “Everything we do at the moment has got to reflect what’s going on,” he says. “It’s not that we ever said that there’s money to be made out there [through property development], but now the advice within our shows is to be careful and make … Continue reading

IT’S CLUB GITMO DAY.

Turned on the PM news on BBC Radio 4 only to be confronted with the full on BBC whingeing mode on behalf of the inmates of Guantanamo. This time it’s newly released video footage of Omar Khadr being asked by Canadian officials in 2003 about events leading up to his capture by US forces that is causing BBC consternation. Khadr is accused of throwing a grenade that killed a US … Continue reading

Questioning maternity leave.

The head of the “Equalities and Human Rights Commission”, Nicola Brewer, has said that the legal burden placed on employers who must pay maternity leave is making them reluctant to employ women of child-bearing age. About time someone in the Equalities industry said it. This Have Your Say page on the subject now asks: Should women have to choose between a career and a family? Has your job been affected … Continue reading

DON’T MENTION DDT.

It’s remarkable the number of articles the BBC can run, like this, on the topic of Malaria without ever ONCE mentioning the fact that DDT remains the most practical and effective means of controlling it. Why? I think the BBC still accepts the entirely discredited drivel “Silent Spring” served up by Rachel Carson decades ago – the consequences of which are millions of lost lives caused by the de facto … Continue reading

TAXI?

Wonder what you make of the news that the BBC’s annual taxi bill for ferrying guests to programmes has soared by an astonishing £2million? In the last financial year it spent 5.3million on transporting contributors, up 60 per cent on the previous £3.3million. With more broadcasting planned from the BBC’s new regional centre in Salford – even though many guests will have to be brought up from London – taxi … Continue reading

WHAT A GAY (sun)DAY.

The BBC is a great front for the propagandising of the militant gay agenda. Reading through this report of “openly gay” US Bishop Gene Robinson’s sermon in a London church today is a perfect example of the BBC modus operandi. It starts off by subtly praising the bravery of the gay Robinson, then contrasts this with the boorish behaviour of the ONE protestor in the audience – a man lucky … Continue reading
