Tell Tales

Some tell-tale signs of the drip drip BBC narrative that undermines and erodes British democracy and political truth….

After what the BBC called a ‘sensational leak’ of Home Office draft thoughts on immigration policy sent to the Guardian by a concerned citizen with the undoubted intent of, in some shape or form, derailing and sabotaging Brexit we were treated to a day long flurry of excited BBC analysis of what is a fairly dull and uncontroversial set of proposals.  Naturally, despite its less than ‘sensational’ revelations, the BBC pushed the idea that Britain was now closed, the borders sealed off and no one would be allowed into fortress Britain.  This means of course that Businesses would fail in a spectacular domino effect, jobless workers would starve in the streets and the Far-Right, taking advantage of the socio-economic chaos, would rise up and instigate the Fourth Reich.

On Nicky Campbell’s show he had a Turkey farmer on to say he would promptly go out of business with no foreign workers as British workers are too lazy, they don’t want to get their hands dirty and they’d rather stay on the dole.  Campbell didn’t challenge that at all…he instantly changed the subject and moved on allowing that idea to fester, one that the BBC has often pushed itself of the lazy, workshy, feckless Brits.  May of course made comments about immigration in PMQs…she said immigration was good for Britain and the BBC naturally pounced on that quote making it their headline in the bulletins…never mind that May wasn’t talking about mass, extreme, uncontrolled immigration that the BBC supports…her comment could as well describe immigration of one highly skilled man who makes a huge difference to Britain in some way…thus ‘immigration’ is good for Britain…but the BBC doesn’t care to make that distinction or notice the nuance.  May also said immigration meant lower wages for workers…the BBC wasn’t so keen to report that….from the Telegraph:

The Prime Minister said it was important to set net migration at sustainable levels because of the “impact it has on people on the lower end of the income scale in depressing their wages.”

And yet the BBC, and Labour, are always making lots of noise about low pay, blaming it on the government….just the wrong government….the culprit was Labour…both for importing millions of cheap workers who undercut British workers and allowed companies to neglect research and development investment that would have increased productivity and for destroying the economy which meant workers only kept their jobs if they took a wage cut.

Which brings us onto an interview by John Humphrys [08:30] with little Owen Jones yesterday in which Jones claimed the Tories had made the Rich vastly more rich and the Poor had had to suffer the biggest pay squeeze in history.  Humphrys finished the interview when Jones had stopped whining by saying ‘on that uncontentious note’…and from his tone he absolutely meant that, he was not being ironic.  And yet everything Jones said was contentious…the Rich have been taxed hugely since the crash and the poorest have been helped enormously with a big rise in tax allowance taking millions out of tax completely, almost non-existent interest rates and low inflation.  The BBC spreading a big lie that feeds into the Labour narrative.  Strange that.

Following that interview we had Mishal Husain tackling Remainder Vince Cable…she kept insisting that we should pay the EU whatever asked for immediately so that we can move on in the negotiations.  Good of her to do them for us…how would we ever manage without her advice?

Back to today and we had Emma Barnett talking to the [pro-Remain] Times’  Sam Coates, described as a ‘friend of the programme’.  Indeed, Coates is now a regular on the BBC spinning for Remain and spreading poisonous little anti-Brexit jibes at will.  Today he was in to discuss the ‘leak’…apparently the measures proposed in the draft are ‘draconian and hardline….opposed by many in the cabinet and which businesses find uncomfortable’.  We also had on left-wing journo Jack Blanchard who claimed that such proposals would force the EU to ‘retaliate and protect its own interests’…suggesting of course that the proposals are in some way outrageous and unreasonable when they are anything but….naturally any EU reaction will only be ‘blowback’ against British foolishness.

So two Remainers on the BBC to give us their considered thoughts on Brexit….balanced and impartial as always on the BBC.

We also had an hour of anti-Far Right chatter that ended up as demonisation of complete innocents on 5 Live on the first hour of the Afternoon Edition.  Of course the Far Right itself should be challenged about their views and actions if they are violent and racist but this programme used the arrest of some ‘National Action’ members to paint a picture of Britain that is just untrue…including the idea that we are heading back to a 1930’s Nazi Germany type crisis and that Brexit has given rise to the rise of the Far Right as it embraces isolationism, nationalism and identity politics….in fact it is the liberal open borders extremism and support for Islamism that has given rise to the rise of the Far Right.  No Muslim terrorism and cultural jihad, no Far Right rise.

Apparently Muslims are dehumanised by the Far Right and anyone who thinks that bombs exploding at pop concerts or on trains and buses, or vans running down pedestrians or people being beheaded in the street, or young white girls raped and abused, is in fact anything to do with Muslims is wrong, not only wrong but Islamophobic and racist…these incidents are not reality, they are only ‘images’ that mislead people…people need to be educated and informed…the speaker of course, an ‘expert’ in Far Right ideology, had mostly Muslim friends and he told us how it was ‘funny that anti-Semites, homophobes and racists all congregate together’…hmmm…..in the mosque?  Funny how he is so ignorant of the Islamo-fascist ideology that he himself is apparently so educated and informed about.

We had the usual nonsense about the radicalisation of those in the Far Right groups…due to socio-economic factors…alienation, poverty and disenfranchisement as well as their voices not being heard.  The same narrative that the BBC uses to explain away Muslim radicalisation…a convenient get out that dodges the truth…that radicalisation is about ideology for Muslims and ‘blowback’ against the Liberal extremism on immigration for the Far Right.  In other words this is in both cases down to the likes of those good folk in the BBC who don’t want to look too hard at the truth about Islam and who force mass immigration upon their own countries regardless of native opinion, common sense and the dangerous reality.

Oddly the ‘expert’s’ answer to the ‘rise of the Far Right’ [who, he told us, are on the rise because they have been denied a voice] is to  silence them, deny them a platform and make it impossibe for them to get their messages out in public.  Not something the BBC practises with Muslim extremists who know they always have a warm welcome in any BBC studio.

Just a few examples of the relentless barrage of anti-Tory, anti-Brexit, anti-Right BBC posturing that paints such a false picture of what is really happening in Britain today.

The BBC…anti-democratic and dangerous for social cohesion and stability.

Looting the Bodies

Corbyn lies to Peston once again, and again and again…people not being found accomodation?

After the Battle of Waterloo the thousands of bodies that littered the battlefield were variously stripped of their clothing, their possessions, their valuables and their dignity by the local civilians…even their teeth were pulled out.

How familiar would it seem for those present to witness Labour’s villainy as its vultures descend upon the victims of the Grenfell fire to feed upon their troubles and misery, the loot this time not gold but political advantage as the carpetbagger Corbyn stands upon the coffins of the dead and uses them as a soapbox to peddle his class-war rhetoric.  Does the man who is happy to see British civilians blown to pieces or shot dead in the streets, the man who rages against the very security services that use shoot-to-kill in order to protect us, does such a man really have the slightest care for the people from Grenfell Tower?  Are they not just a useful currency to be ‘spent’ as part of his anti-Tory warchest as he and his far-left stormtroopers try to hijack the disaster for their own political ends?

Shame the BBC isn’t asking questions as the mob moves in…..the mob that forced the local town hall to close due to its invasion, violence and vandalism…just how helpful is that as the centre of operations is forced to shut?

Latest update – Saturday 17 June – 6:50pm

Kensington Town Hall has unfortunately been closed due to yesterday’s (Friday) incident.  However staff have been able to continue their work today from a number of other sites, including the Westway Sports Centre. Officers from other boroughs have also been helping staff.  We hope the Town Hall to reopen on Monday.

The BBC has played down the thuggishness of these protests and the fact that they are by Corbyn’s own brand of far-left Brownshirts.

Just look at this ‘report’ from the BBC that is sensationalising the fact that no one is at the Town Hall….but wait…the windows are all boarded up due to Corbyn’s street thugs smashing them….the place is closed as said above due to the violent acts of Corbyn’s useful idiots…the reporter makes no mention as to why the place is in lockdown or that operations go on elsewhere instead….the BBC spreading fake news as usual….

Silence: The scene at Kensington and Chelsea town hall

There were piles of donations but no one official in sight at Kensington and Chelsea town hall on Saturday afternoon, as Laura Trant reports.

This is the BBC continuing to paint a picture of a Council that doesn’t care, is in chaos and is failing the victims…when that just isn’t true….who does the BBC think set up the emergency relief centres?

Is the Far-Left violence and intimidation not a warning of what is to come if Corbyn gets anywhere near power as his street thugs and online activists threaten, bully and intimidate people and organisations who don’t comply with their world view?  Just look at what the Shadow Chancellor of all people was inciting the other day…essentially revolution to topple the government…

John McDonnell calls for one million protesters to take to the streets in bid to oust Theresa May

And yet the BBC, so keen to issue us ‘A Warning from history’ about the march of the Far-Right, almost totally ignores such very real, far more real than the Far-Right’s, threats from the Left….not as if the Grenfell residents want to be hijacked by Corbyn….

Grenfell community fear ‘Day of Rage’ protest could descend into riots as organisers threaten ‘class war’

The BBC isn’t really interested in the Grenfell residents though.  Like Corbyn it would seem its reporters are only  interested in making political hay whilst they can…hoping to topple May and undermine the capitalist system.

The BBC was giving a platform to all and any, so many of them obviously Far-Left activists out to smash ‘The System’ raging about austerity, neo-liberalism and greed…not to mention social cleansing….including it might be added a Labour MP…

Nicky Campbell shrugged off complaints that his programme was a political witch-hunt against May.  He told us that it was not politicisng the disaster, when of course he was doing so, and that the BBC ‘has a duty to listen and give a platform to the angry voices that don’t normally get heard.’.  Well first off these are the same old voices that always get heard on the BBC….voices of the far-left and if you’re musician, poet, writer or artist you’re an honoured guest whose  phone number is on speed-dial.  Second the BBC’s ‘duty’ to listen and give a platform to does not extend to the Right especially on subjects such as immigration, Islam and climate change…the BBC, if it does graciously extend an invitation, does so only with the view that you are the ‘enemy’ whose arguments are to be countered and opposed whereas the ‘angry’ Left are there to be explained and supported and consoled.

The BBC now is very interested in the ‘left-behind’ as represented by those in Grenfell Tower as it politicises the disaster and turns into into a morality play about the rich and the poor in line with Labour’s narrative.  The so-called ‘left-behind’ who voted for Brexit or Trump were derided and mocked as the ignorant, racist ‘deplorables’, but these new ‘left-behinders’, the residents of Grenfell house and their ilk, mostly ethnic minority, Muslim and immigrant, are now the standard-bearers of the new crusade against the rich and privileged.  This morning the Resolution Foundation took the opportunity to put out a report telling us how the rich have gotten richer and the poor not so much…the BBC of course reported this and then tagged on ‘Grenfell House’ telling us that this is what happens when the rich don’t care about the poor…never-mind £10 million that was just spent on the building and extensive consultations, contrary to what we are told, were held with the residents…

HOUSING AND PROPERTY SCRUTINY COMMITTEE
11 MAY 2016
GRENFELL TOWER
REPORT BY THE DIRECTOR OF HOUSING

Kuenssberg…waste of space

Image result for corbyn pantomime

Here’s Kuenssberg’s thoughts on the debate…it will be chalked up as a win for Corbyn…

She attacks May for not turning up and yet has nothing but praise for Corbyn who changed his mind and took the opportunistic chancer’s route of suddenly saying he will join the debate trying to wrongfoot May.

It is quite probable that this was the Corbyn plan all along, did the BBC know?, just as the ‘leak’ of Labour’s manifesto was quite likely deliberate…giving it enormous publicity and giving it time to assess reaction and then alter anything that got a bad reception without being accused of changing anything as it was a ‘draft’….unlike May’s change which has brought enormous criticism upon her including the charge that she changes her mind….unlike Corbyn who has had no criticism for changing his mind on the debate…if it suits the BBC then they won’t criticise.

Look at the BBC write up from last night [original version]…BBC debate: Rivals attack Theresa May over absence…and you won’t find anything about the debate being a complete shambles or about a biased audience.

The BBC are doing Corbyn’s work for him as it concentrates on criticism of May by her rivals…..and lines up quote after quote from the debate…as there were far more anti-Tory people in the debate this leads to a long soundbite of anti-Tory messages that the BBC is more than happy to keep pumping out.

The BBC is blaming Comres for the biased audience and the fact that as there were so many parties represented they all had to have their supporters in the audience and thus together outnumbered the Tories….that seems like a system that is not working then…even if it was done properly with the correct percentages of representation.  A system designed to produce a hugely, disproportionately, anti-government audience.

Pienaar came on to smooth things over…he admitted it was a bunfight and that he wasn’t sure we’d learned anything useful and that will have done nothing to change people’s minds[lol] however he claimed it was good as it showed the character of the leaders and how they’d cope in a bunfight.  You’d hope serious political negotiations, such as Brexit were conducted in a serious manner and not a bunfight.  He went on to say Boris would have been there [if PM], so sly dig at May, and goes on to say May is too measured and she wins no points for reducing risk…in his assessment….and May is ‘not a media performer’….er…not a performing seal for the BBC’s own delight….the debate was a circus from which we learnt nothing.

Even the Daily Mirror thought the debate was crap and pointless…

This could have been an opportunity for a serious debate on Brexit, the economy, defence and public services.

Instead we got a cross between the Jeremy Kyle show and the Weakest Link.

Unfortunately there was no way of eliminating any of the shouty seven when they talked over each other, uttered banal soundbites or offered a duff answer.

Pienaar then went on to praise Corbyn as someone open to argument[er…kept the same marxist pro-terror ideologies for decades] and that he was a ‘thoughtful man’.

Nicky Campbell naturally defended the BBC and attacked May and the Tories as he talked to Boris…calling him ‘disengenuous’…and of course bringing up the £350 million…when have you heard the BBC bring up the Remain camps’ lies about economic armageddon, families reduced to poverty, world war 3, an ’emergency budget’ to rescue Britain after the vote, 3 million people on the dole due to Brexit, investment down and businesses fleeing Britian in droves..oh…and Cameron wouldn’t resign after the vote…nuff said.

Such debates are entirely worthless and more showbiz than a useful tool to inform the Public about the issues in a rounded and measured way.

The BBC knew the Tories would be outnumbered and they’d get a ream of anti-Tory soundbites that the could play endlessly for days just a week before the actual vote.

The Independent headline says it all…

This is the BBC turning the election into a pantomime…a pro-Corbyn, or at least a Pro-Labour one.

Our Fault

A probable terrorist attack in Manchester…if it turns out to be Islamic terrorism who ‘enabled’ them?

Nicky Campbell & Co are at the scene and sounding very concerned, talking to relatives and locals, giving out phone numbers…how long before that turns to condemnation…of the security services, of British foreign policy…the bomber a victim of racism, marginalisation and Islamophobia?  Remember these guys are the new Churchills, Mandelas and Ghandis  (© Mark Easton).

The BBC has fed into the terrorist’s narrative of Islam and Muslims under attack by the West.

Only a couple of days ago Jeremy Bowen was telling us that the ‘duplicitous British’ are to blame for everything that is going on in the Middle East today….words have consequences…perhaps the government should start looking at the words the BBC pumps out excusing and cheerleading for terrorists.

Oh yes…vote Corbyn…who loves the IRA, Hamas, Hezbollah and wants to negotiate with ISIS.   And of course would not shoot a suicide bomber.

Scrambled, curate’s or rotten egg?

What standard has the BBC’s election coverage reached?  Hard to really tell accurately as no one can watch it 24/7…of the bits I have caught some has been good, some questionable either for competence or bias, some is outright bias.  However now that the Tory manifesto has been released into the wild we can at least get a feeling for the coverage overall….and it seems to be pretty much what we have come to expect from the BBC….Labour gets a positive spin and a less than rigorous going over whilst the Tory policies get forensically examined and torn apart.  Pienaar used to specialise in this approach telling us there may be some problems with Labour policies but you know what, they could work and they sound good, whereas the Tories’ are pretty well unworkable and ill-thought out.

As mentioned in a previous post we’ve had Kuenssberg explaining away Labour’s nationalisation as ‘buying assets’ and so essentially costless, today we had Nicky Campbell telling us that ‘many people are worried about immigration’….what the BBC concerned about immigration????…hold on, don’t be daft…Campbell finishes with….‘they are worried about immigration being stopped…because the NHS will grind to a halt.’

Campbell went along with all the critics of the government…and all the callers were critics, Campbell had to ‘assure’ us that this was just how things were and make a plea for Tory supporters to call in. Of  course that should mean he would be sure to be even more rigorous in challenging callers…but no, he at best nodded in agreement and at worst fully agreed and even added his two penneth worth as above.  No challenge to the woman who criticised Tory care povision and went on to say all care homes should be closed as that would free up 60,000 nurses for the NHS…Campbell seemed to see no problem there as he treated her as if she was speaking complete common sense.

Then we had the actual manifesto launch with the big talking point being the sale of homes to pay for care.  On World at One Martha Kearney mentioned a couple of times that ‘people are calling the policy a ‘dementia tax’…er…just who are these people?  Oh….yes…it was Jeremy Corbyn.  So the BBC picks up a highly perjorative and loaded phrase that’s been ‘weaponised’ by Labour in order to demonise the Tories and the BBC tries to get it into common usage by repeating it again and again.  This is the BBC that supposedly doesn’t use words or phrases that are obviously highly political and which they claim can mean different things to different people.  The BBC that doesn’t like to use the word ‘terrorism’ if it can help it but does like to use the term ‘bedroom tax’ and now ‘dementia tax’….guess their principles go out the window when it is a word that can be used to attack the ‘Right’.

And why did the BBC bring in Andrew Dilnot?  He was on just about every programme throughout the day giving us the benefit of his wisdom.  He is highly political and has his own agenda to sell in regard to how social care is paid for……you can see how the Left enjoyed his intervention as illustrated by the Guardian

Tory social care plans will leave people helpless, says former adviser

Andrew Dilnot, who reviewed social care for coalition, expresses alarm at proposal that will mean elderly are ‘completely on their own’

Of course they are not completely on their own…they do not have to sell their house whilst alive and if they use up all but £100,000 worth of their home’s value the state then picks up the rest of the bill….and so if you have less than £100,000 in your home’s value, or rent, you pay nothing.

He thinks the Tory proposal is unfair and there should be a universal spread of the cost through out society, rich and poor to pay…pay somehow…in the programme I heard him suggest we pay by getting insurance cover…but previously he has suggested higher taxes…..both systems mean the poorest will have to cough up more money they can ill afford…how exactly is that fairer than having the most wealthy pay for their own care as much as possible?

What we don’t hear much of on the BBC is that the previous cap on what a care patient could keep of the value of their house was around £23,000…that is, any value above that could be used to pay for care…and note that cap was going to be raised to £118,000 anyway by 2020….so pretty much as May proposes now….you will be able to keep 4 times the value of what you can now….or  more if the costs do not actually use up all the value.

Dilnot’s logic seems somewhat skewed and not thought through….but nice of the BBC to give such a critic of the Tory position such a big platform to strut his stuff.

Mayhem

Well-done to the man who called in to Nicky Campbell and won his bet as he suggested that Theresa May, a vicar’s daughter, would not like to see mass debating on TV….cue dirty snigger and a non-plussed Campbell who moved rapidly on.

That was the comedic, and possibly intellectual, highlight of the day on the Beeb.

Campbell on form as usual as he asked a Tory MP ‘What lies will you be peddling today?’, almost on a  par with Eddie Mair who extraordinarily compared May calling an election with the ruthless Islamo-Fascist Erdogan who locks up all his critics, if not kills them, and who quite possibly set up a fake coup d’etat, and who rigged his own recent election in Turkey.

The BBC has got into its stride now and settled on a few attack themes, and it does seem to be ‘attack’ themes as it relentlessly targets May for criticism for calling the election.

The major one at present is that she has u-turned after saying she did not want to call an election…which of course is true but then so what?  Hardly a major concern that merits endless BBC dissection.  But the BBC has an agenda…this u-turn it tells us proves May cannot be trusted…funnily enough this is a line that Labour takes….

#Yvette2017 Underway: “We Can’t Believe A Single Word May Says”

[Have to say Labour must force Corbyn to resign immediately and slot in Cooper as leader…only real chance of saving the situation….the Telegraph explains why Corbyn cannot be ousted...so he must resign ‘voluntarily’]

Despite such claims MPs backed May’s call for an election with only 13 voting against and the disgraceful SNP playing their usual games and abstaining….clearly these  MPs also think an election is a good and fitting idea not merely some cunning and devious plan by May…whatever contrasting things they may say in the TV studios for political advantage.  Billy Connolly said in the film ‘Mrs Brown’ that there are two seasons in Scotland, June and Winter…clearly for the SNP June will be the winter of their discontent.

The BBC is also peddling the idea that May is afraid to debate, again a Labour narrative….so afraid to debate that she is holding an election when she doesn’t have to and putting her case to the country.   Hardly afraid of debate and challenge.

Campbell came up with the thought that May called an election because she knew the economy, under her guidance, was going to crash and plunge us into recession by 2020 and thus having an election now avoided that problem which would not play well at a later election….a ‘good move’ he suggested sarcastically. When challenged that he was just recycling John McDonnell’s words from earlier in the day Campbell huffed that these were his own thoughts based upon expert anaysis by respected economists….presumably those who provide Labour with its lines to take…so once again the BBC is peddling a Labour narrative…we’re beginning to see a theme here aren’t we?

May is a political opportunist?  A Labour theme.

The voters did not vote to leave the Single Market.  Labour again, and the LibDems….never mind they voted to leave the EU which entails leaving the Single Market….but you won’t hear a BBC presenter questioning the narrative.

The polls show, the BBC keeps telling us, that the Public support Labour policies…it’s just Corbyn they don’t like…er…so how did the Tories get elected in 2015 with a majority when Miliband was leader?  Just the BBC peddling a pro-Labour line that’s pure nonsense.  And wasn’t it the BBC’s finest political pundits who told us in no uncertain terms that the era of a single party taking power was over for good?

And when we’re told that the ‘48%’ have no voice and are being ignored but just how would we accomodate them and their demands to stay in the EU?  The vote was to leave the EU so in what way could we then leave the EU but not leave the EU in order to keep the Remainders happy?  It’s impossible…but you won’t hear the BBC challenge the notion that the 48% must have their views and wishes catered for.

A less than ‘balanced’ day on the BBC…Lord Hall Hall must be ecstatic as he munches on his dinner and contemplates an EU sinecure and a retirement with, not just a gold plated BBC pension, but quite possibly a nice little earner on his retirement within the portals of the EU itself as a reward for services rendered should Brexit be derailed.

Just love Hamas, Hezbollah, Mao…whoever next? Trump? OMG Safe place, safe place

I have some advice for the BBC…wait, wait until we can ascertain the good that Trump does…because his legacy maybe that on balance, he does more good than harm.

Trump has set the running dogs of the extremist liberal elite running.  There’s wild panic and headless chickens on the continent of Europe as their comfortable existences are threatened much as the Communist Dacha loving elites saw their easy, privileged living coming to an end as the Berlin Wall fell.  The greedy, liberal elites, those for instance in the BBC who feel entiltled to our money and to then preach to us about our immorality and racism, see the Trump bulldozer shattering the foundations of their utopian dream, a dream bought at the expense of all those ‘populist’ workers that the BBC elite so disdain, mock and denounce as racist Nazis.

Paradoxically those burgeoning populist Trumpian forces are small and insignificant as John Humphrys reminded us today when he averred that there is ‘huge concern in many quarters’ about Trump’s appalling policies [he didn’t actually say appalling…but Nicky Campbell has…so fair game] echoing Laura Kuenssberg’s attack on Trump where she grandly and mistakenly said she spoke for Britain.  Why does the BBC not say that there is huge support in the UK for Trump…just as valid if not more so…and in the US he has the majority for his immigration policy.

The BBC of course doesn’t think Trump is a man who we should do business with but can’t seem to keep the narrative straight.  When Farage got his foot in the door first May was criticised for being too slow to contact the new President.  Then when she won a small diplomatic coup and was the first national leader to meet Trump she was roundly criticised for being too quick and for fawning…and then she was criticised for being too slow to criticise his immigration policy…the BBC has often moaned about Politicians using soundbites and off the cuff remarks to grab the headlines…and now they demand May does just that…instead she took her time to consider what the issues were and then spoke about it…she unfortunately isn’t made of the same stuff Thatcher was and has caved in to pressure and denounced Trump’s policy as ‘divisive and wrong’…not sure in what way it is divisive.

The BBC et al are hounding May for maintaining and developing further a close working relationship with one of our most powerful and closest allies….strange that on the continent, in the ranks of the EU apparatchiks, they too demand a close relationship with the US….

“We cannot surrender to those who want to weaken or invalidate the Transatlantic bond, without which global order and peace cannot survive. We should remind our American friends of their own motto: United we stand, divided we fall.”

So whilst Trump may make them quake in their Italian loafers they want to do business with him.

So what’s the problem?  The BBC tells us…

Donald Trump has professed doubts about Nato, admiration for Russia’s Vladimir Putin and support for Brexit. He has also criticised German Chancellor Angela Merkel, particularly her welcoming policy towards refugees.

In a recent interview with Germany’s Bild newspaper, Mr Trump confirmed his view of the Nato alliance as “obsolete”. He has also dismissed the EU as “basically a vehicle for Germany”.

Interesting that the BBC equates support for Brexit with admiration for Putin.  But as with all BBC ‘news’ you have to take it with a pinch of salt.

For instance whilst he may talk of closer relations with Putin he also said…“Well, I start off trusting both [Merkel as well] — but let’s see how long that lasts,” he said. “It may not last long at all.”

Then there’s that comment about NATO being obsolete…well all is not as the BBC tells us…what he actually said…

“I took such heat when I said NATO was obsolete,” Mr. Trump said. “It’s obsolete because it wasn’t taking care of terror. I took a lot of heat for two days. And then they started saying, ‘Trump is right.’”

As for Trump wanting the EU to break up as a policy that’s not true either…he merely thinks that if countries want independence they should have it…

Mr. Trump also said that Britain’s decision to leave the European Union would “end up being a great thing” and predicted that other countries would follow. “People, countries want their own identity, and the U.K. wanted its own identity,” he said.

Not sure he has said anything detrimental about the EU other than that it is a vehicle for Germany…and even the New York Times agrees with that...

His critique of German dominance over the European Union is hardly a novel thought; many Europeans share the same complaints.

And of course his criticism of Merkel’s immigration policy as catastrophic was hardly controversial.

So when you actually look at what Trump has said he doesn’t seem to have said anything really controversial unless you are a dyed-in-the wool EU supporter who wishes to hide the truth from the voters….

What is startling is how an incoming American president would make such a statement about a key ally and, in doing so, give succor to populist parties seeking to shatter the European political establishment.

So really we must do what the BBC does…censor the truth and shape the news to reflect what you’d like to happen rather than report what has happened.  Can’t have the cosy cartel of the liberal elite shattered by the inconvenient truth can we?

Rights Said Frederika

Ah the power of this blog…no sooner had I posted this last night…’Women march against Trump and the BBC looks on with tears in its eyes but this is the same BBC that deliberately hid what it knew was going on in Rochdale and Rotherham as 1,400 white girls were raped and abused by mostly Pakistani heritage men, the same BBC that told us that what happened in Cologne was a right-wing conspiracy, the same BBC that ignores what is happening across Europe which makes Norway the rape capital of Europe with Sweden not far behind.  Guess the BBC is only interested in women’s rights if they are black or vote Democrat.’….and this morning Nicky Campbell is talking about women’s rights….one of the guest speakers suggesting it is odd that we[not me] march against Trump when the real danger to women is happening on our own doorstep, specifically within certain communities.

One stand-out comment from Campbell made me laugh…he told us that his daughter loves a book by Ayaan Hirsi Ali, you know, the anti-Muslim extremism battler who was driven out of Europe by the liberal defenders of the indefensible which includes institutionally imposed misogyny.  [Hirsi Ali thinks Sharia law might be bad for women, gays, Jews, Christians etc etc].  Shame Campbell doesn’t follow in his daughter’s footsteps…he prefers to get his Islamic education from the likes of Mo Ansar….which explains an awful lot.

Odd that the BBC should downplay the role that the Koran plays in fostering hatred of women, its GCSE Bitesize site told us that Christianity didn’t much respect women but Islam did.  Islam we were told, believed men and women were equal but that they had different roles and this explains the different way women are treated in Islam…different but equally respected the BBC assured us.

The Bible gets a completely different treatment from the BBC’s Jo Fidgin….

‘The Bible teaches our children to hate women before they can think’

A few months ago, a friend told me that she’d been reading fairy tales to her two year old, and had been appalled to realise what messages they send. The girls in them are rewarded for being passive, long suffering and, most of all, for being beautiful. Her rather gorgeous daughter had started to fret that she didn’t have the requisite blue eyes and talked about wanting to scratch them out.

That conversation prompted the Misogyny Book Club, going out on Radio 4 this week. I started to wonder what other books that are widely read and loved say about women, and whether they may have helped make hatred or contempt of women part of our culture; part of ‘the air that we breathe’, as one contributor to the series puts it.

We started with the Bible, and the figure of Eve. Whether or not you believe she was the first woman, there’s no getting away from her. Her name has become shorthand for duplicitous, malleable, irresponsible Woman.

In Genesis, chapter 3, Eve is beguiled by the serpent into taking fruit from the Tree of Knowledge. Many have said that Eve’s real sin was to be curious. Curious to know things she shouldn’t. Curious to experience good and evil. Curious about sex.

Can you ever imagine a time when the BBC would tell us that the Koran teaches Muslim men to hate women?  The same BBC that actively sought to supppress the truth about Muslim demographics in Europe but was keen to tell us that Christians were using the womb ‘as a weapon’.

Jo Fidgin of course the seeker of truth and facts who listed all the faults of the Leave campaign, denounced Trump, blamed the Iraq War and climate change ‘denial’ on fake news  but neglected somehow to do the same for the Remain one or left wing causes.

This series by Fidgin, The Misogyny Bookclub, shines an educational light upon BBC’s world view, its commissioning process and editorial standards.

Here’s a women, Fidgin, who suddenly had an idea, that books are teaching men to hate women, and she trots along to the BBC and instantly gets the green light.  So one person with her own prejudices and a singular idea is given a platform to hawk those prejudices worldwide on the BBC as ‘fact’….and they are presented as ‘fact’  This from a woman who is so interested in true truths and true facts, apparently.

What Fidgin fails to understand or admit is that the Bible is an ancient text written to take account of the political and social conditions of the time and which today, the average person, the Establishment, and even the Church, do not take literally.  They may take it seriously as a symbolic representation of values [like Royalty] but the values have changed and the ‘bad’ values have been quietly and gradually forgotten and put aside, Hellfire and Brimstone replaced with tea and scones with the vicar.  This is not the case with Islam and the Koran which is still taken as the literal word of God and its every utterance taken as the true path to be followed to the letter.

Does anyone today come away from reading the Bible with the thought that they must hate women?

Wrong side of history

Historian Niall Ferguson has already seen the light with Trump and after lambasting him for months now recognises he may just be the man for the job…but there’s more….Niall has had a double-double-take you might say and is now a fan of Brexit after similarly having spent months attacking it.

Let’s get down to brass tacks and the essence of his message…one that the BBC needs to read and understand….

‘This is not about GDP, it is principally about the complete loss of control of the EU’s external border and what that implies for our country’s future.’

Not about GDP.  The BBC ‘fought’ the Brexit campaign, and continues to do so, purely on the basis of the economics…as they saw it…showing it in the worst possible light.  The BBC refused to engage in debate on the actual issues that concerned the Leave voters, immigration and sovereignty, and it still does.  The BBC continues to pump out endless reports of economic doom and gloom ‘because of Brexit’ and limits the debate to that subject.  The idea of course is to portray Brexit as hugely damaging and a failure in the hope that there will be another vote and it will be influenced by all the ‘bad news’ that the BBC has been flooding the airwaves with for so long.

You may also recognise that Ferguson is saying Farage was right when he used a photograph of massed immigrants heading into Europe to illustrate his point about the failure of the EU to control EU external borders and that this would also threaten us in Britain.

It is curious that the BBC don’t report what Ferguson says…he is after all an influential and famous historian that if he’d said Brexit was a disaster would have been headline news and the subject of a Nicky Campbell phone-in.

Also consider that the BBC is desperately trawling around to get Leave voters to say they now regret voting leave and using that to suggest we should have a second vote…why no interest in those who regret voting for Remain?

What does Ferguson say?  The EU is a complete and dangerous failure…..and Cameron’s ‘reforms’ were a fraud [that the BBC loved]…..

With hindsight, he said, David Cameron should have rejected the ‘absolutely risible’ offer from the EU on migration and backed Brexit as well.

Professor Ferguson then listed the EU’s failures over the past decade including the euro, which he said had been a ‘disaster for all the reasons we said it would be in the 1990s’.

‘It has been a disaster for southern Europe and has only worked for Germany and northern Europe,’ he said.

‘European security policy, especially with respect to North Africa and the Middle East, has been a disaster.

‘On the migration issue the European leadership got it disastrously wrong. On the question of radical Islam the European leadership has fundamentally got it wrong. One has to recognise that the European elite’s performance over the last decade entirely justified the revolt of provincial England that was what we saw in Brexit.

‘If those of us who were part of the elite spent more time in pubs in provincial England and provincial Wales we would have heard what I just said.

‘This is not about GDP, it is principally about the complete loss of control of the EU’s external border and what that implies for our country’s future.

‘I have had a kind of awakening. Brexit woke me up and reminded me I needed to pay much more attention to what the non-elite majority of voters were thinking.

Shock and ‘awfulness’

A quick one as time limited….this morning we heard on Nicky Campbell that Leave voters, and Trump voters, and no doubt Italian voters as well, were ‘clinging on to political solutions that  have nothing to do with their problems…and it could all lead to the 1930’s again’.

Yep…they’re all stupid, ignorant racists harping  back to some golden age that is not only unachievable but leading us back to the savage dark ages of a fascist future.  Trump’s solutions are all wrong…he’s wrong in Iran [er..no he’s not], he’s wrong about the economy…we can’t have protectionism or tariffs…er….isn’t that what the EU single market is all about…you can only join the club if you follow the rules and pay the hefty membership fees?  Every country employs protectionist policies in some form or another….such as subsidising firms like Nissan to build factories here….that’s still protectionism and not a free market.

The Left’s solution seems to be the old one…don’t try and protect jobs just pay people to stay on welfare when they get the push…but of course that ultimately can only work if you have the taxes coming in to pay welfare…taxes that come from the industry that you don’t want to defend….as Thatcher said…

‘The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.’

Anyway back to today and conveniently Milo Yiannopoulus has just released a video of a presentation at Miami University in which he covers the real problem today…the censorship of thought and ideas by the Left…amongst many other things….the way the Left tries to close down debate by shouting ‘racist’ or ‘Nazi’..or ‘we’re heading back to the 1930’s’…which ties us into Campbell and his fellow travellers as they try to link Jo Cox to the Leave campaign.  Get over the style and deliberately provocative delivery and listen to what he has to say…the substance of the talk is very relevant and poignant, and all too true.
