Life In These United States

I’m trying something a bit new and different here. After asking David Vance and the All Seeing Eye, I’m starting a real rebuttal to the BBC’s lame output about US issues. I can’t compete with the “bespoke” video magazine pieces, but I can provide a bit more information and analysis of real US issues that get spun by the BBC or simply censored out of existence. There’s much more to … Continue reading

What A Difference A Day Makes

This was withheld for one day in case something tragic happened during the Grand Prix. Better safe than sorry, if one *May* say so. Cartoon. a) “A drawing depicting a humorous situation, often accompanied by a caption.” b) “A drawing representing current public figures or issues symbolically and often satirically: a political cartoon.” At best, a cartoonist will capture a facial expression or encapsulate a situation with humour, brevity and … Continue reading

CARRYING A TORCH FOR BIAS

Further to DB’s post and looking back through his tweets, there’s another campaign that Stuart Hughes seems single-handedly to have got started and then used the BBC News website to publicise. https://twitter.com/?tw_e=screenname&tw_i=193078816724365312&tw_p=tweetembed#!/stuartdhughes The story begins back in March: 19/3/12 Delighted to finally be able to announce that I’ll be taking part in the Olympic #torchrelay on Jul 24th The following day though he gets some unwelcome news… 20/3/12 Ah, the … Continue reading

TAXI!

Apparently the boss of a cab firm has said some less than complimentary things about cyclists, giving outrage-hungry time-rich media luvvies today’s excuse to whip themselves into a frenzy on Twitter. My question – what do you all make of this, impartiality-wise?

Propaganda Works

Although the BBC’s current attitude towards Israel is predominantly hostile, certain Jews are always treated sympathetically. Those persecuted and murdered by Hitler. “Holocaust Memorial Day in Israel is one of the most sombre points in the calendar. This year has seen the opening of an exhibition dedicated to the young men who ran a football league in the ghetto of Theresienstadt in the Czech republic, who left a remarkable musical … Continue reading

SANDBAGGED BY THE BBC

“Genesis 12:10 And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was grievous in the land.”  Biased BBC contributor Alan notes how  the BBC rewrites history to produce a new narrative of Egypt and twists the facts so that a Muslim scholar can claim the credit and not the ‘White Europeans or Americans’ ….they then rewrite it all again … Continue reading

A SOCIALIST WIN IS A BBC WIN..

I love the BBC’ s lack of pretence that it desperately wants to see Francois Hollande become the next French President. Here’s a cute little item from the BBC’s Hugh Schofield headed. “Nicolas Sarkozy: Why is the French president so disliked?” With his plans to increase the upper tax threshold to 75%, abandon any attempt at austerity and pursue hard core Socialist plans on business, it’s easy to see why the BBC … Continue reading

GOD SAVE THE QUEEN?

I see that thousands of BBC staff are to be balloted for strikes over pay, with unions warning of disruption to coverage of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations if action goes ahead. Members of unions representing journalists, technicians and other employees will vote in the coming weeks, with the result due on May 21. The unions would have to give seven days’ notice of any action, but they would have … Continue reading

Tonight Question Time comes from Leeds. On the panel tonight Conservative party co-chairman and beacon of promoted-beyond-their-ability tokenism Sayeeda Warsi, shadow home secretary and screechy self-righteous harpy Yvette Balls (Cooper), the Respect MP and professional cat impersonator George Galloway, president of the Liberal Democrats and odious backstabbing leadership-wannabe Tim Farron; and the Times columnist David Aaronovitch Your Moderators line-up consists of David Vance, David Mosque, TheEye and John Ward.
