mark: The point I’ve raised several times. The BBC keep trying to point the blame at Boris for the 9.3 billion, but the Government has set THAT target, not him.

The BBC of course would like even more money spent, the BBC know no other way.

  2. Martin says:

Newmark: Your point is? Boris wants to keep a lid on spending from his side. Commie Ken had alreadey wasted millions and Boris has a target budget.

He knows that if the games go over budget it will be the London tax payer that funds the costs.

What’s your problem? He still didn’t set the budget.

BBC presenter Lyse Doucet: Media fail to convey ‘humanity of the Taliban’

As soon as you hear the word “diverse” on a BBC scummer’s lips, it’s time to reach for the sick-bucket. Other top-BBC words: “Community” (or even “diverse communities”) and “appropriate” (meaning “we tell you how to judge”)

She totally misuses her position to give biased anti-Brit and anti-US views.

Has anyone been watching the closing ceremony coverage from the BBC?

They started with a montage of clips of the past few weeks – with the commentator noting the political issues and equating the protests over China and Sudan to the US and Iraq, the human rights in Tibet with Guantanamo and so on…

They then proceeded to marvel at Chinese Olympic triumphs before remarking that a ‘greedy American’ had picked on the few scraps…

    Unbelievable.

I’m not sure what’s worse, the BBC in its default anti-British mode or its Olympic British chauvinist mode. As far as the Olympics is concerned, although all credit is due to the athletes, who really gives a toss? I (together with every acquaintance, friend and relation of mine) was totally indifferent to the “bad” results we got in previous Olympics. Now that we have a “success” on our hands the BBC considers that I should be on the streets celebrating while our politicos – egged on by the BBC – prepare to spew £10 billion of taxpayers’ money on another festival for these, frankly, rather weird obsessives.

The 2012 Olympics will simply show the world that we have largely given that end of our capital city away to immigrants, all in the space of a generation. Huge unemployment, lots of no-go areas, poor education – and a general air of mess. Londonistan indeed.

just looked up the girl on the internet. On the publicity photo she is wearing normal clothes. So if she does turn up in the stadium in ‘traditional’ dress we will know the BBC or the government is making a political statement.

I’ve looked around and have found only one picture of her at all. The same low-res head shot is being used by many media outlets, and the girl is wearing a hijab.

Could you please post a link to whatever photo you saw of her in normal clothes? It would be a bit of a scandal if it did turn out that the BBC forced religious garb on her to make a political statement.

She won a Blue Peter phone-in competition, and since the BBC has proven to be untrustworthy with those, suspicion is justified (don’t roll your eyes, Beeboids, it’s not like it was just one incident, and we should have gotten over it by now). But I’d like to see a picture, since I can’t find one.

Commentator was rambling on with Jimmy Page, finished off the interview and was looking off-camera left whilst speaking.

Next thing, *PING* camera lights go off. Broon interviewed in the dark.

And yet the audience for today’s event outside Buckingham Palace was hideously white, as is usual whenever the citizens of our diverse capital are called upon to make public declarations of patriotic pride down the Mall (eg the Queen’s golden jubilee and the Falklands 25th anniversary commemoration).

The BBC just can’t accept that Boris beat their beloved Ken.

The right-on keffiyeh wearing crew visit a pacific reef with only one variety of coral ( a particularly hardy type we are told) & little fish life. “Due to global warming” is the unsubstantiated, casually delivered opinion offered for us to absorb. The ship then sails for 9 hours to the next islands where the reef is vibrant. It is an odd global phenonemen that varies so greatly within 100 miles of ocean.

[Extract from report on his Edinburgh speech, ‘Telegraph’]:

“‘Do I think it’s a man’s world? That’s the most ridiculous question I’ve been asked all week,’ Paxman said during an interview at the Edinburgh Television Festival.

“‘The worst thing you can be in this industry is a middle-class white male. Any middle-class white male who I come across that wants to enter television I tell them to give up.'”

“He cited Jana Bennett, the director of BBC Vision, Jay Hunt, the controller of BBC One and Dawn Airey, the chairman and chief executive of Five, as proof of his theory.

“‘Is this evidence of some male conspiracy keeping women down?’ Paxman said.”

Thus, while in the capital, foreign dignitaries have gushed over the millions of flowers in bloom and lush, well-watered greens around its famous sights, just 90 minutes south by train, peasants are hacking at the dry earth as their crops wilt, their money runs out and the work of generations gives way to despair, debt and, in a few cases, suicide.”

Another example of the Beeb giving an unchallenged platform to a stupid leftie despite him spewing such obvious bollocks:

    The headline? Wait for it…(drumroll)

Black youths ‘being left to die’

What’s this? Are injured black youths being left in the road to die after being hit by cars? Are sick black youths being denied treatment on the NHS, or being left to die on trolleys in hospital corridors?

No, they’re just not having enough money thrown at them, which of course leads to them being killed. Conclusion – black youths are being “left to die”. Read it to believe it…

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7580207.stm

“Dr Campbell told the BBC that funds earmarked for community cohesion were not going to the right organisations.”

And this is why black youth are killing each other? This is such a boneheaded statement that publishing it without any challenge whatsoever is a disgrace to journalism.

Dr Campbell said: “We have clear evidence of organisations which used to be funded and have delivered on outcomes but have suddenly not been supported.

“And we have to ask the question whether there seems to be an acceptance that if another black youth is killed they are just another one that we don’t have to worry about.”

In other words, “because certain organizations aren’t getting the funding they used to, we have to consider the motive that they simply want black kids to die so that we don’t have to worry about them”.

This guy is a complete and utter loony-left nutjob – and yet he gets a soapbox at the Beeb.

    It gets better:

“Black youths within this country have been left to die. And that’s a very strong statement but it’s a statement that seems to be borne out through evidence about black youths who seem to be at the top of the list when it comes to our youngsters being killed,” he said.

Blacks are at the top of the list of “getting killed” because they kill each other more often, not because community organizations aren’t being funded. Yet another example of the ways in which the left view certain groups as nothing more than unsophisticated, savage animals who are not capable of thinking for themselves and making their own choices. Such vulnerable simpletons, of course, need “the left” to come to their rescue. To the left, blacks are simpletons who don’t have a sense of volition.

Note this idiot seeks to absolve all blame from the black youths who are killing each other. No mention made of the thug culture which influences them, nor of the fact that more black kids are born without fathers than any other group. No, it’s all the state’s fault for not throwing enough money at them.

Why does the BBC give unchallenged publicity to leftist airheads such like this? It seems the dumber they are, the more likely the Beeb is to take them seriously.

You can tell the BBC is dominated by women. Just take a look at daytime TV and you can see the obsession with celebrity, houses, curtains, soaps and other chav crap that now dominates the BBC in the evening as well.

Actually, I would say that this is more indicative of the contempt the BBC programming mavens have for women in the UK. They obviously think that the vast majority of people watching TV during the day are vapid, vain, other-directed, uneducated, fat, unemployed-but-supported-by-their-husbands, women. This is entirely un-PC, and a surprising condemnation of the unhealthy attitude towards women on evidence at the BBC.

Since the BBC behaves like a commercial entity, the programmers are concerned about ratings, not quality. Thus, the content of their daytime programming should be a reflection of their opinion of the demographic watching during that time. As you point out, it’s not a pretty picture.

The lack of science and engineering programmes and the use of arts graduates to explain science on BBC news.

That’s because they only hire a very few with actual training in any area pertinent to their patch other than pushing buttons on the mixing board and maybe editing a headline. The rest of them are English or History, or Language (French, Spanish, Chinese) majors, or even worse. David Gregory is (was, in the context of this site) a rare bird in that he had actual training in the general area of his bailiwick.

That’s a problem with journalism in both the UK and the US, as it happens. Being an English major teaches one how to write a complete sentence, and to use language to manipulate the reader’s thoughts. That’s what they teach in editorial classes as well. It’s all about controlling the experience to a certain end. In theory, the idea is to reduce waste and redundancy, to make the language clear and succinct, in order to get the desired point across. Even in those radio production courses at certain schools which are essentially a fast track to Radio 4, the curriculum is designed around creating character studies and topical essays, rather than informing the public or making any sense at all.

Of course, this fails to teach the student anything about true impartiality or critical thinking. Instead, emotionalism rules the day.

Since you’re not an idiot Radio 1 DJ, I think you can work out the math from there to see what I mean.

I don’t think I’d mind quite so much if it did. The days have long since passed when the majority of English degree courses in this country taught such things. Possibly, it is different in the USA.

Most University English teaching today seems to be a sub-set of sociology.

Such technical skills as the undergraduates recruited to the BBC possess are hammered into them ‘on the job’.

You can hear the lamentable results, daily, where solecisms abound.

The reason there are so many women in high positions at the BBC is because so many ‘white middle class’ men ensured their recruitment during the height of feminist media bulldozing in the 80s. The white middle class male Etonians that previously dominated the BBC effectively committed suicide in their desperation to appease the femi-nazis cries of sexism during that decade.

Now we can sit and watch a pack of talentless white middle class Etonian women surrender themselves to the cries of ‘racism’ by Islam so a pack of hate-filled religious zealots can dominate the BBC and openly promote terrorism and their poisonous religion into the facile minds of lazy, telly induced Brits.

That – as we all know – is where the death of political correctness will end, and the ultimate demise of Britain will begin.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1048634/LIZ-JONES-The-women-Kabul-tell-British-troops-really-heroes.html

British troops are putting their lives on the line against the inhuman Islamic jihadist enemy, the Taliban, and all we get from the anti-British Ms. Doucet is her propaganda about the ‘humanity'( unspecified), not the inhumanity of the anti-infidel murderous Taliban. Ms. Doucet grossly under-reports the horrors of her chums, the Taliban.

And Ms. Doucet has the gall to say that WE are not asking the right questions! She is totally unconcerned about her own misunderstanding of global jihad, so politically embedded does she appear to be with the Islamic jihad enemies, such as her ‘human’ Taliban.

Ms. Doucet should be replaced. She cannot be trusted to present anything but the propaganda of the Islamic jihad enemies of Britain. She personifies the worst of BBC reporting. She’d be more at home on Al Jazeera TV Englsh, up the road, I’m sure she has friends there. And John Simpson can go with her.
