Start the Week Open Thread 6 May 2019

We could witness The Sell Out this week or a General Election date or can kicking again  . But even after the Local Elections there has been no change in bias from the Far Left  Remainer Failing BBC.

The life of a prospective MEP has been threatened . The police are involved . Let’s hope the Main Stream Media supports anyone using the legal democratic process to carry forward their view as opposed to the mob..

Pretty bad – you get the feeling that the police are giving a British citizen warnings of threats of attacks on his life, but not so they can take action, but so they can show that they warned him. So really satisfying the paperwork monkey, but not actually doing anything.

I watched Countryfile this evening. Over two separate items rising sea levels were mentioned at least 5 times. Yet notalotofpeopleknowthat last year reported that levels are rising at less than 2mm a year on average.

    https://notalotofpeopleknowthat.wordpress.com/2018/07/04/latest-sea-level-junk-science/.

But I also recently attended a meeting where a man from LLoyds of London was speaking about flooding on the east coast of America and explained how there would be increased flooding and greater claims costingNames more because of rising sea levels.

I know I cannot do anything about the BBC, but I should have called out the speaker, but didn’t think have the facts to hand. Tell a lie often enough and it becomes the truth.

@Deborah ..irrespective of sea level, LAND SINKS in some areas
.. On east coast Louisiana this is due to things like making canals for the oil industry
In the UK that’s cos Britain is tilting from Scotland towards the channel.

Yes, I was waiting without any hope whatsoever, for someone to explain that the apparent sea-level rise was, in fact, not a rise at all (or an imperceptible one), but due to isostatic change. Of course, isostacy is a word BBC journalists are banned from using, for fear it might dilute the MMCC propaganda.

          • Beltane says:

Not so Martin, it is unfair to say that isostacy is banned by BBC journalists. They have simply never heard of it, nor that there are actually qualified environmental scientists and experts on climate who understand and use the word correctly, and hold opinions radically different from their own.

We haven’t had the BBC Brexit challenge for a month . It seems to keep Maxicony away .

Maybe the remainer types think that the prize money will be upped as time goes on as they trawl the archives . Wrong , it’s going to be reduced .

£1000 now to any remainer that can prove Al Beeb has ever made a programme , television or radio , that has proved beyond all reasonable doubt that Brexit is a Good Thing . Terms and conditions don’t apply , just prove that the BBC has made a pro Brexit programme .
    Do it within 48 hours . After that the bounty is reduced to £500 . After another 24 hours it’s £300 , then another 24 hours it’s £100 , then after a fortnight £10 .

    Remainers that visit here ;

Tell me where I can put this challenge on a Remainer site .

TOADY Watch #1 and the BBC’s short-term memory loss or dementia or both.

The UN has been using taxpayer money to finance a load (250?!) of so-called ‘scientists’ to scare us again. One of them states on the TOADY Prog “What is really scary is what we don’t know.”.

    Yesss.

What is also scary is that the BBC have completely forgotten (well, The Humph and the programme Editors and Editor in Chief have) what the last report from the UN said, remember the one from the IPCC last October? That one told us we must stop eating beef and plough up our forests and savannahs to grow vegan crops for the world’s population to graze on.

Stop! Start eating beef and lamb again.

Now we have to save the dung beetle and zillions of flies.

The bBC are crowing about the size of the audience who watched the apparently a bit of a damp squib finale of the much-heralded “Line of Duty” last night.

There has been blanket previewing, promotion and praising of the series and the bBC in anticipation of this programme right across the media for the past week or so, encouraging almost 10 million viewers to tune in to watch what appears to have been in essence a pilot for the next series.

10 million. In 1986, and I know this was over 30 years ago, 30 million viewers tuned in to watch Den serve Angie divorce papers in a Christmas day Eastenders. Granted this was Christmas Day, but in November 1979 another bBC series finale drew an audience of nearly 24 million viewers. The series, non-threatening, non-violent, non-political or politically correct, and certainly not “woke”, “To the Manor Born”.

Says a whole lot about the significance and relevance of both television and the bBC today doesn’t it?

In previous years people have listed the tallies of people murdered as a result of Ramadan. Some Israelis have been killed, and some Palestinians as a result of Israel responding.

Although it is probable that some Palestinians were killed by their own side by misfiring rockets, or worse – deliberately – to blame Israel as they know that the elite in the Western World, UN etc. are always looking to accuse the Jewish state of all crimes. And it doesn’t matter if they are actually guilty of the accusations or not, Israel’s very existence is too much for anti-Semites like McDonnell and Corbyn to allow.

Whatever the political and historic case for its existence, it has lived on the edge since 1948…

June 1967 was when I first took real interest in Israel. Much smaller in land area and population then now. Largely agricultural based on the kibbutz. Still recovering from the holocaust, which was then “living memory”. And surrounded by powerful Arab states threatening a once and for all extinction of Jews in the very land of Israel.

Israelis were sad that Israel was going to die. Even the one western state that supported them, France under de Gaulle, imposed sanctions on them.

Before the day was out, Arab armies had been smitten (almost in a Biblical manner).

For several days, Arab governments pretended they were winning.

Yes, the 1967 war, otherwise known as the Six-Day War.

Israel’s enemies like to portray Israel as starting the war, but in fact Nasser had massed tanks in the Sinai, expelled UN peacekeepers, ranted hysterically on radio about Israel’s imminent demise and, in an act of war, closed the Straits of Tiran to Israeli shipping.

Syria, meanwhile, was upping it’s belligerent firing on Israeli communities from the Golan Heights.

In a pre-emptive strike, Israel took out practically the entire Egyptian Air Force on the ground.

A BBC reporter was there, allegedly to cover the war. He couldn’t believe that Israel was winning and would not report that fact back to headquarters.

Do you also remember the summer in between, 1977, when crops rotted in waterlogged fields because combine harvesters went down to their axles in mud, unable to work, and the daytime temperatures were some of the lowest on record.
Strangely, all the experts at the time of the previous drought, in 1976, interviewed on BBC radio and forecasting ‘permanent northern European climatic change and crop choice’ had nothing to say on the subject in 1977. Or maybe the BBC didn’t ask.

I went to the bottom of the last thread to have a look. The culprit used an unspeakable abbreviation to refer to those who originally emanated from a Middle East country under the yoke of the Religion of Peace.

I’m not sure why that particular word has such negative and insulting connotations and is seen as so disparaging that a tiny child was brought before some far-left outfit to be disciplined because he used the word to describe his swarthy friend. That was several years ago.

I play a word game, Lexulous, that allows all manner of deeply insulting tags for people of various races and countries. But the game will not allow the aforementioned abbreviation.

Anyway, thanks for the tip. While it’s still not illegal so to do I have replaced the offending word with one to describe the religion of those the culprit referred to.

I see May is planning another betrayal of Brexit with the Labour party and is talking about a 3 way referendum, where no doubt there will be two leave options and one remain in order to split the leave vote and get the result the elites want.

I honestly hope Corbyn gets elected and imposes a swingeing wealth tax on the rich, punishing the stupid Tories who have backed May because they wanted remain at any price over backing Boris because they didn’t want Brexit.
A good 20 years with a wealth tax would make sure the wealthy fools bankrolling the Tory party were made ordinary like the rest of us, and learned the meaning of conservatism, and the need to preserve it regardless of priviledge and wealth.

The young haven’t ever experienced it and when all the money has gone and they’re still not happy they can try something else. Though personally I think that would be taking ‘tough love’ too far and clearly the lesson has not been learned.
What we REALLY need, is is a right of centre party that puts this country’s NEEDS and interests FIRST.

But you aren’t going to get that out of the Tory party and Farage created a single issue one again which cannot carry that mantle.

We all know that socialism will fail because it always has, but what hasn’t happened in the past is the old money groups being made to suffer.

We need a deep wealth tax which will hurt Tory supporters and make them keenly aware that if their MPs ‘f**k’ about like they have been doing they will be rapidly de-selected and out on their ears.
This happened with Dominic Grieve who should have been de-selected, but hasn’t been because spineless Torys find it too difficult.

Wanna know what’s difficult? Being told that you are going to lose 25% pa of your investments because you failed to take the neccesary action when you should have.

Make the pips squeak that’s when Tories sit up and take notice.

Well, given that the lib-dems are mostly socialists, greens are anti-capitalist, 99% of tories are useless greedy pinkoes, 48% of the country are big-statist remainers and the news & entertainment media are all promoting socialism and multiculturalism in one form or another…

Then I say yes, let’s give them all a dose of McDonell/Corbyn socialism, it’s what they’ve all been waiting for.

Yes – it’s true we’ll all be hit with the collateral damage of even higher taxes, and whatever other loony policies they might bring in to grind our faces into even more diversity.

But we could view it as delivering as sudden intracardiac injection of adrenaline. It’ll certainly wake up anyone who hasn’t lived through socialism, or those who’ve forgotten.

I think the country probably needs to be bankrupted and on the verge of serious disorder to effect the kind of radical changes required to defeat progressivism. It might not be possible without some kind of separation/secession.

Personally I’m utterly sick to death of left-wing people. Especially the holier-than-thou variety. Everything they are in favour of makes my life worse.

Climate change activists are planning a “blockade” at a Cambridge city centre petrol station.

    https://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/news/cambridge-news/climate-change-activists-plan-blockade-16233552

Protesters are set to arrive at the BP garage in Elizabeth Way at 10am on Saturday, May 11, and they plan on staying there until 12pm.

A post on the Extinction Rebellion Cambridge Facebook page says: “If there are enough people we will create a blockade.”

In March Cambridge University lecturer Jason Scott-Warren launched a one-man protest outside the garage.

He said: “[This petrol station] annoys me because it’s at the end of my road and it’s painted green.

“The fact that it’s green is something carried out by fossil fuel companies to pretend to be concerned by climate change.

“I think there should be a government health warning on every petrol pump. I’m here being a little government health warning of my own.

Will it be allowed a normal diet or will it decide at age one week ‘entirely independently’ to be a vegan? And if it’s a vegan will it be allowed mother’s milk, or will it just get carrot juice?

Still, I’ve no doubt Harry will look after the kid and he’ll help it survive the trauma of the inevitable divorce. After all he knows how bad it is when mum acts the fool then disappears.

The BBC will be leading the campaign for a change to the Law of Succession to ensure that the new child can become King or Queen (depending on how it self identifies). BBC editors: feel free to use the following words in your article:
“Many people think Prince Charles would not make a suitable King, but suggest instead that a generation is skipped and Prince William becomes monarch when Queen Elizabeth II dies. But constitutional experts, who do not wish to be named, are now proposing a more radical change whereby any loosely related member of the Royal Family could become monarch. This would open the door for the new Baby Sussex to become King – a popular choice for the majority of people who believe the monarchy should reflect the diverse, inclusive country that Britain has always been at heart.”

You probably won’t hear much about this on the BBC until after the even, but, slightly before Halloween is the Canadian federal election when Canadians can finally rid themselves of the liberal elites poster boy Justin Trudeau.

One of the issues I hear from Canadians is that they had no idea what he was going to do once in office because he never put any of the PC crap in the manifesto, yet did it anyway (sound familiar?). Of course Canada being run on similar lines to Britain has no constitution and non binding manifestos, which means they’re about as informative as a ream of printing paper (unopened!)

Trudeau in some areas of Canada is 20 points behind in the polls, not helped by the SNC scandal which again has been largely unreported by the BBC, a lead which even Theresa May might win with (although it’s doubtful).

If nothing else changes it would appear that Canada’s Conservatives will win a landslide majority, something the inept cockroaches this side of the pond might take note of, but the BBC is going to like this about as much as they ‘enjoyed’ Donald Trump’s victory.

How would ‘BBC News at 10’ react to the Royal Baby and the latest UN Extinction Report? I had thought that the baby might scupper their plans to brainwash us with the extinction story. In the event they doubled down and only covered the baby story in the second segment. I should imagine that that will have generated some complaints from the general public who would be more interested in Megan.

Later on at midnight on their 24 hr news channel they put the birth first and didn’t cover the extinction story at all? Am I to conclude that it is only the UK audience whom they are targeting with the environmental propaganda? This is a bit strange because theoretically they could reach a wider international audience and ‘educate’ them about how not to destroy the planet.

My conclusion is that their propaganda campaign is purely political and aimed at potential voters in the UK. Talk about Russian fake news influencing US elections, well here we have our very own biased national news channel up to it’s neck in an activity that is prohibited under their charter.

Apparantly Charles Martell was kinda invented and history around him distorted, the Moors hadn’t been invading; so Tours was a bit of a myth; gays were OK, since a mysterious find in an Egyptian tomb proved that there was such a tradition. Hindu Nationaists were right wing and anti-Muslim, and therefore bad.

I was working for the old CEGB at the time of Chernobyl and remember it well. It’s a prime example of a poor design with numerous faults that the soviets neglected to mention to scientists and engineers. Add to that a pressured plant manager and a rushed test and.. bingo! you have the perfect storm.

There were some incredible acts of bravery, some with the full knowledge it meant their deaths. The official death toll at the plant was 31. Estimates of the deaths in the year that followed due to radiation range from approx 100 up to 2,000 – not the mass numbers predicted by the doomsters. Many scientists dispute the higher estimates but, as we’re only too aware on this forum, there are those with their own agendas.

Now here’s the interesting thing. In an interview with Emily Watson who plays the scientist (totally fictional made up of a number of real ones – yet none of the main players were female), the BBC guy stated a number of 4,000 deaths. And low and behold, Wikipedia that for the last few years went with the story 2,000 was the upper number (although many dispute that), suddenly states 4,000.

Sadly, I fear this fascinating incident with acts of incredible bravery will no doubt become an anti-nuclear propaganda vehicle.

Surprisingly, back in the day when the BBC weren’t run by eco-loons they made a really good docu-drama – you can see it on youtube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v40hu54fAvw

99.9% of species that have lived on planet Earth have gone extinct. It’s called ‘evolution’, supplemented with the occasional large rock falling out of the sky or large volcanoes getting a bit grumpy. And human beings in any shape or form weren’t around for at least 99.9% of the time since life began.

        Children huh?
But we are told that having children is the very worst thing we can do to harm the planet ?
Honest, practical, sensible discussion is sadly missing from the debate.
At the moment it’s just Corporal Jones but ‘PANIC!’ and panic some more.

In the UK alone the White, male, Christian, heterosexual is on the verge of extinction. This once proud animal was often seen on TV making people laugh or in furniture stores at weekend but alas no more they have been replaced by different strain a protected species introduced into the country. Whilst the white male has had little or no protection over the last 10 years it’s rivals have flourished taking over the roles it had established through 100 of thousands of years development. Much like the introduction of rabbits into Australia eventually the natural order will one day have to be restored only then can this once fertile and thriving green and pleasant land return to it’s productive and inventive best……..

The BBC is so far gone pushing propaganda at kids and kids at propaganda it should be extinct.

The rise is actually linked to the possession of knives in one hand (usually the right hand research has shown), whilst physically being in the street.

Research into their ethnic origins is not relevant or helpful.

“The rise is actually linked to the possession of knives in one hand (usually the White right hand, BBC propaganda has shown), whilst physically being in the street.”

The BBC is ‘leaking ‘ government propaganda about how the Customs Union is to be ‘temporality ‘ extended until the next general election in order to achieve a Labour/Tory stitch up on a sell out .

A perfect piece of sophistry deluding every one into thinking it’s ok . It’s not – of course – because we won’t have left the EU . We ll still be subject to the ReichEU laws .

    Apparently it’s called ‘compromise ‘ – no it’s not – it treason .

Thing is, although frustrating, we’ve had three years to get clued up on all kinds of Brexit and Parliamentary things.
Things they might have slipped past us three years ago – we are now wise to. Thanks to their delay tactics we now have a far more educated electorate.

Not BBC but its clone – SKY, earlier today.

They sent some reporter onto the streets of China asking the locals what they thought of the Internet and why China’s newest “app” already has 1 million subscribers?. Fine, that’s all well and good but the only comment sky went with; was, yes, you’ve guessed it:

    “we know about Brexit”

Even in the wild and freezing backwoods of China the only person sky asked – and told the world about – was some old guy cooking on the street who when asked gave the answer as seen above.

In the run up to when we left the ReichEU on 29 March there were frantic noises about ‘chaos’ and not being prepared – but now that the date has been extended where are the announcements about exact arrangements for us re leaving when A50 runs out again.?

Do I just get the feeling that the civil service and politicians have cancelled brexit but not telling the pleb voters about it ? – because they are too thick to understand ?

      They’re getting to that point.:
‘We interviewed some dogs and asked, ‘ Brexit good? One bark,
      Brexit bad? Two barks.
Most dogs barked at least twice – back to the studio’

I’m shocked! I’ve only just found out that PM Traitor does not attend the labour/traitor discussions but leaves all the talking to her civil servants and 2 cabinet ministers?

      Good grief!

      Talk about “corrupting absolutely!”

And, after flying in to the UK and giving the Extinction Rebellion eco-trouble makers lots of well-publicised support, who should appear on the front cover full page of the Radio Times but………Emma Thompson !!!!!
And inside on pages 10 and 11, double page, we get the headline ‘Emma Thompson for PM?’. The article then describes her as ‘environmental activist, feminist, atheist, pro-Palestinian’.

Luckily for us , the BBC is totally impartial, so I am sure it is all a huge co-incidence.

I’ve said here that we should use any weapon available to destroy the BBC .

Perhaps all this froth about environment stuff could lead to a demand for the BBC to be carbon negative .
How many miles traveled by car, air and stuff

How many interviews that could be done on Skype and not sending a Kia royale Sweeney … ?

Air con , lights on , pension fund non green investments –

      That stuff .

( for record I like the climate changing )
