I like Tommy – I’ve even bought two of his books for my Kindle.
However, he is his own worst enemy, and becoming a liability. I know he’s had his problems with the police, the government, and the media.
He clearly isn’t going to get much more help, or traction from anyone, even though most of us are sympathetic to his plight, and the obvious campaign against him. Any organisation he joins, far from being an asset, he is a liability.
Perhaps in his own interests, and ours, he should take a step backwards, for a while, and re-assess his position.
That’s only my opinion, unpopular though it may be.

For what it’s worth, I admire Tommy enormously. He’s brave far beyond the point of common sense. And I attended both the Whitehall demonstrations organised to get him released from prison. However, there’s no doubt that politically he is a liability. His reputation has been so tarnished (a lot of it unfairly by our revolting media) that middle England…and that’s UKIPs bedrock support, won’t have anything to do with him.

There are times when it is important, really REALLY important, to be clever with your tactics.
Right now, TR and UKIP are doing neither.
The Christ-ian imperative to ‘be as wise as serpents and harmless as doves’ works really well, too, for unbelievers in the secular world.
After the ‘Judiciously unfair’ treatment of Tommy Robinson last year, it would really have been better for him – in my view – to have gone quite for a while. Let the Attorney-General sort out his case. Get through any re-trial. Stay quiet politically (and away from UKIP) and maybe get a formal journalism qualification in order to put the MSM’s nose really out of joint.
Instead of that we are where we are.
– UKIP is being attacked because of Tommy Robinson.
– Tommy Robinson is being attacked because of UKIP and the EUroElection.
– Gerrard Batten is being attacked by the media because of TR and it seems that he has possibly now had enough. He had already promised to stand down for a confirmatory leadership election but apparently is undecided whether to stand, according to his statement to BBC R4.
The EUro Elections are really important for Brexit.

Old Goat – reluctantly, I must agree. N Farage knew what he was doing when he distanced himself from UKIP and TR and, true to form, TR managed to deliver a punch on election day. Excellent. Clearly he was targeted, but that is nothing new.
TR has an important message, and I agree with Fedup2 that he is a brave man. I have also read his book on the Koran. However, Farage understands that a political party has to appeal to the electorate the way it is, not the less hypocritical way it would like it to be.
Carl Benjamin, in one of his recent street interviews (in Bristol or Gloucester, I think), explains very well how middle class people find it easy to reject the opinions of working class people because they do not frame their arguments in a way that the middle class approves of. They are totally oblivious to just how prejudiced they are. That is the problem.

Full marks for his bravery and his determination & resilience standing up against the threats & the constant abuse etc. however the man Frames his arguments all wrong & his reaction to a Milkshake over his face was to start throwing punches…silly….However take into account there was a very possibility the milkshake was not a milkshake and something more sinister.
Nigel saw the hold the MSM had on individuals like Tommy and knew if he aligned himself with Tommy, he would be pulled into that murky world as well and would constantly be defending actions of the past instead of promoting actions for future.

Much is being made by the BBC and the Guardindependent of TBP’s current lack of a manifesto. ‘What are their long-term plans? How could they hope to gain power? It’s a one-man band’ and so on and on. And the critics from all the established parties are joining in with the enthusiasm normally associated with children.
What they are ignoring are the events of the past 20 years or so, in which our country has been deliberately and spitefully over-run, our NHS massively overburdened, our national infrastructure at the point of collapse and the banking system rescued by billions of taxpayers money. Further to observations about Archie being a gangster name, I just remembered the niggling fact trying to emerge which is the lovely Archie MacDonald, the Laird of Glenbogle in the series ‘Monarch of the Glen’. We have been watching some of the box set really as an antidote to, well, I don’t know really, everything. It might deteriorate towards the end but so far it is refreshingly non PC and it was a BBC series.
The Laird in the series is an ‘Archibald’ as supposedly christened which prompts the thought that the royals are supposed to have proper names that the vicar wouldn’t object to at the christening ceremony. Neither Archie or Harrison qualify.

I just watched yesterday’s Brexit Party rally at Peterborough on YouTube.
In a day it’s had only 725 views, 30 likes and 11 comments. Not sure how that’s even possible. Could it be that Google is fiddling with the views by making the video hard to get to? I struggled to find it via a Google search and eventually got to it by searching on YouTube itself.
Anyway, it was a smashing rally with the venue bursting at the seams and many fine speeches. I understand from Roland Deschain on the previous page that the BBC gave priority to a poorly-attended Change UK event, rather than the Brexit Party.
The BBC is becoming more and more irrelevant to anyone wanting news that matters when it matters.

Totally sums up our “Worlds Most Trusted” If I am not mistaken.
Critical Theory is part of how the ‘long march’ strategy works.
Take some established institution in which the public sees as a necessary and useful service, the police or army for instance.
Criticise it for not having enough black people. Get the standards lowered for entry. Employ more diversity bureaucrats. Repeat the process for women, gays, trans etc.
Pretty soon the reason why the service originally existed (fighting crime, defending borders) will have been cynically turned into its exact opposite.
The point is to destroy the effectiveness of those institutions. The same applies to teaching, the courts and justice system, any Government ministry, local councils/quangos etc. This has all been going on since the 1970’s if not before.
The ‘criticism’ of Critical Theory never proposes any reasonable solutions – it’s always a demand for ‘equality and justice’ no matter the cost. The criticism is only to point out the deficiencies.
So the solution ends up with us having a police force much more interested in wrongthink than burglary, attending LGBT rallies than knife murder, and exhibiting their political ‘impartiality’ as shown with Anna Soubry and Tommy Robinson.

Always good to remind ourselves of these points. What I think is noticeable is just how successful critical theory has been and how deep it has infiltrated so many institutions and everyday thinking. I see it everywhere.
What’s also noticeable is that we’re watching two tectonic plates slowly colliding. The one that’s hell bent on deconstructing everything and where all truth is relative; the other is a cast iron religious belief system where truth is inviolable and absolute.
It should be fairly obvious to anyone with an understanding of culture and psychology that sparks would fly when the two meet, but it seems our great leaders prefer to live in la la land.

This morning’s ITV breakfast show carried a quite detailed report about the National Crime Agency’s latest revelation that another 40 people are being investigated over child sex abuse there dating back 20 years. They said the scale of systematic abuse was probably even bigger than previously thought.
So I thought I’d flip over to the state broadcaster to see how they were covering this shocking story – nothing!
And where is it on the biased BBC website? Well, if you dig quite deep you will eventually find seven paragraphs in the second item in the South Yorkshire sub section to the Yorkshire section of the Regional news.
Nothing on the home page, nothing changes, no editorial integrity whatsoever. Utterly appalling standards, and we can only conclude that this is a deliberate policy to deceive.

UK flood planners ‘must prepare for worst’
There are stark warnings about the effects of climate change, with suggestions entire communities could be forced to move because of the risk of floods. Launching a consultation on its strategy, Environment Agency chairwoman Emma Howard Boyd says that with global temperatures set to rise between 2C and 4C by 2100, some £1bn a year might need to be spent on flood management.
“We can’t win a war against water by building away climate change with infinitely high flood defences,” she argues, calling for homes in at-risk areas to be adapted with raised electrics, hard flooring and flood doors. Environmental group Friends of the Earth agrees that “resilience-building” is important but says tackling the causes of climate change should be the priority.

The deeds for our home go back to the sixteenth century. Despite living near a river, it has never flooded.
Upriver, councils keep building affordable housing on flood plains, apparently unaware of what the name suggests.
So they then ‘keep building ever higher flood defences’ to protect these new communities.
Which sends more water downstream..
Such councils are the ones who declare climate emergencies because men in ponytails tell kids to shout at them on Fridays.
And the BBC remains as idiotic as ever.

GW, I have similar experiences. One of our homes was protected by a simple flood protection scheme designed by monks one thousand years ago to protect wells used to make beer. The council built new flood defences and guess which parts of the town flooded and which were perfectly ok.
Ditto. Our home is perched on a hill, as are all the homes locally over 40/50 years old. Which was traditional in this part of the West Country, we’re surrounded by old Celtic hill forts, Saxon hill settlements, Roman villas (on hillsides), and Norman castle towns (on hilltops) etc…
Over the last 30 years, or so, they’ve filled in the gaps in between high ground with thousands of new homes (to house ex-Londoners fleeing the city and the jobless benefit scroungers with dozens of kids shipped out of the cities). Nearly all these new houses being built on old water meadows, flood plains, and river valleys, and mostly without any real green space, soakaways, culverts, ditches, or ponds between them – in fact, those are routinely filled in and built over so they can cram a few more rabbit hutches in.
Now, apparently, flooding locally is far worse… ‘cos of global warming, and for some reason, it’s always these new homes at the bottom of the valleys that get flooded.
There are also concerns for local wetland wildlife: birds, amphibians, bats etc… which seem to have declined in numbers, for some mysterious reason.
Can’t help thinking it’s all connected somehow, if only I could work it out…
The big question for Emma Howard Boyd: are the Environment Agency now going to properly manage water courses and areas of standing water in future?
That means dredging, clearing debris, plant and sub-surface growth. Intensive, country-wide, regular work, year after year and sometimes requiring very heavy equipment.

Bribery and corruption is always a risk when people are in power, however when those people are not paid properly for the job they do then the risks become even greater.
