Tip #1 Don’t panic about a LOGOUT error when you’ve pressed POST
It’s just the system logs you out after a few hours
      You won’t lose your post.
I always open a NEW tab and open the login page and login
Then I go back to the original tab and click BACK in the browser
my unsent post is always still there and I click POST

      Tip #2
I see below someone posted a Twitter image and it’s come out huge
if you actually just post the URL of the tweet the whole tweet embeds automatically
      ..And automatically resizes itself

You can also post a Twitter image using the ADD IMAGE button below the POST button
but don’t use the suffix “medium” or “large”
leaving it as “small” is best

          KCC ex-CE – Katherine Kerswell trousered this…

It later emerged that her remuneration package for the year she left the post was ÂŁ589,165 – thought to be one of the largest ever pay packages in local government.

The figure included ÂŁ420,000 for redundancy – a figure that reflected the number of years in total she had worked in local government.

After leaving KCC, she took up a role as Director General, Civil Service Reform for two years.

Following that, she went on to work for Capita, the UK’s largest business outsourcing organisation running an NHS-based business.

She also created a non-partisan, not-for-profit campaign group aimed at encouraging younger people to become more involved in politics – called ‘45 for the 45th.’

Nice ‘work’ if you can get it…

    BBC deception knows no bounds.

A Google search, “BBC how long does coronavirus survive in sunlight” yields –
    https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20200327-can-you-kill-coronavirus-with-uv-light

“The problem is we don’t know how long because it’s still too soon for many studies to have been done on the new coronavirus.

Just before President Trump’s comments about UV light on Thursday, William Bryan, a science and technology advisor at the Department of Homeland Security, presented some results from a study they have conducted into whether sunlight can kill the pathogen.

They found that when the virus was suspended in the air, its half-life – the amount of time it takes to deactivate half the particles in a particular sample – in “ordinary conditions” (20% humidity and a temperature of 70-75F (21.1-23.9C)) was around an hour. When they added sunlight into the equation, that shrank to just one and a half minutes.

“However, the study results have so far only been alluded to in the briefing and a leaked report – they have not been officially published or peer-reviewed”

The ‘leaked report’ is on Yahoo –

C_M, they also upped the humidity. That bodes well for places like Singapore and may actually explain why they have got Covid-19 quickly under control. I seem to recall that Hong Kong had relatively few cases for a larger, much more closely packed, population.

Good post – thanks for this one, G W.

I must say I’m thoroughly sick of hearing the expression “award-winning” used about the latest lame woke BBC Radio 4 so-called comedy. The 6:30 pm slot has been poor and biased for many years and there’s now more of the same after 11 pm too. Who decides on these awards and why do they seem to be so numerous?

There is circle of female comedians promoted by the BBC who are seldom funny, e.g. Miranda Hart and Bridget Christie, compared to the late Victoria Wood, who really was good. ‘Thoughtful’, who posts here, pointed out how how bad the latest News Quiz was (6:30 pm last Fri’, repeated Sat’ lunchtime) – the show has been Leftist for decades but once upon a time it was regularly funny. There’s now an increasingly ‘ethnic’ dimension to R4 comedy, i.e. lets bash Whitey, who of course won’t be allowed to fire back.

8pm So why would ITV remake #VanDerValk ?

    “Lets update a classic.
    – Drop the theme tune.
    – Make him edgier.
    – Female sidekick.
    – Female boss.
    – Drunk pathologist.
    – Black newcomer to team.
Think that’s enough boxes ticked for now. ”

Not only that, but the black guy is the brainbox
and whitey Van Der Valk is distainfull to him.
( Don’t forget black guy is on some spectrum or other
The main plot is centred around a gay bar )

..oh dialogue now ..about the father of the murdered character.
    “his anti-Muslim sentiments are regrettable”
“De Klerk’s new rightwing think tank”
    etc.
and his murdered son is gay with an Indian boyfriend

They should’ve kept the music !!!!

Yes, ITV did a tick box exercise, but there was also a lot of really bad acting going on. The Asian actress (mother) was abysmal , the young black guy was equally awful, the seductive cafĂŠ waitress was over-acting as though her life depended on it, and the pathologist was pathetic. Marc Warren was the only one who came out of it with credibility.

        • Deborah says:

I switched on to Van dear Valk just as the Asian actress was supposed to be crying. At that point I had no clue about the story nor any of the characters. But the actress was hopeless. A two year old trying to cry would have done better.

          • BRISSLES says:

This is the result of scriptwriters /casting directors being too diverse. The storyline was the Asian had met the father of her illegitmate child in another European capital – which means the actress and her son could have been any nationality, but no, they HAD to go down the pc route, which means we are subjected to an awful lot of substandard acting.

          • NCBBC says:

Dont watch any adverts. They consist of diversity nonsense. It is generally a black female, or white female, and a black male. If a White male is in the plot, then he performs the role of being slow, and things have to be explained to him.

A new one has quite literally a bird brain , in the form of a swan, explaining stuff to a white man doing a simple repetitive task.

It seems to me that these adverts are the result of the current crop of woke humanities graduates. This is the best take I have on this mindless twaddle.

Or the adverts are the result of official guidance, as the authorities are concerned that the people are holding them responsible for the mess this country is in. Hence all three parties engaged in praising Islam and Muslims for the great job they are doing.

for the purpose of killing the infection on surfaces
as using bleach for possible injection
and that’s why he’s now having to back away”

      There is doubt
#1 Trump didn’t use the word “bleach”
#2 He deliberately didn’t even say “disinfectant”
He said : “disinfectant” “knocks it out”
“is there a way we can do SOMETHING LIKE” “?”

to make it clear he wasn’t talking about bleach directly

      • Nibor says:

Bleach is Sodium Hypochlorite and disinfectants are alcohol based .
President Trump did not mention bleach .

But even so , when a life is threatened , in the medical world they would use what is normally a poison or a substance detrimental to NORMAL human health to stop , retard or mitigate a life threatening happening .
        Digitalis is one such medication.

Would you deliberately cut off the blood supply to an arm ? Well I suppose even a BBC hack would if a fellow beeboid was losing blood by the pint through his or her limb . That’s why medics are taught about tourniquets .

We only have to read the warning labels on a bottle of aspirin to realise there is a trade off when we’re not quite in the peak of health , never mind a disease that would kill us .

of publish extreme, then sneak back later with a tone-down edit

Politico edited on Saturday morning a story claiming Donald Trump owes millions to the Bank of China for a loan on a New York City office building,
hours after Breitbart News exposed the story as false.

The central premise of Politico’s story — that China was currently holding MASSIVE amounts of Trump’s debt (thereby making it difficult for him to critcize China) — was false.
In any normal situation, the story would require a prominent correction at the very least.

The Sun May remain pro Brexit but the Times has been the house journal of remainerdom since well before the referendum. What I find amazing is the lengths that the MSM and Remainers/ Rejoiners will still go to defy the democratic choice of the electorate. They must genuinely believe that they have not just the power but the right to ride rough shod over democracy and that when they succeed in forcing us back into the EU, which they very well might do, we will settle down as though nothing had happened over the past five long years. Their conceit alone makes them repugnant let alone their wish to rejoin.

For some reason this put me in mind of a speech from the excellent script of “A Man for all Seasons” by Robert Bolt.

      Act II

MORE . . . If we lived in a State where virtue was profitable, common sense would make us good, and greed would make us saintly. And we’d live like animals or angels in the happy land that needs no heroes. But since in fact we see that avarice, anger, envy, pride, sloth, lust and stupidity commonly profit far beyond humility, chastity, fortitude, justice and thought, and have to choose, to be human at all . . . why then perhaps we must stand fast a little – even at the risk of being heroes.

A couple of weeks ago I posted that the bbc, who had been giving out running totals of the death numbers every morning on the radio, had strangely missed out giving us this number when the totals dropped from around the 800’s into the 400’s.

They restarted giving the numbers out again when the deaths went back up again.

Yesterday we had deaths in the 300’s, a huge drop and guess what?
Yes, they didn’t give the number out this morning.

It’s as if the bbbc don’t want us to hear what must be a really good sign of getting to grips with the virus.
    How disappointed they must be.

I noticed that on the briefing ticker too – the number – for what it is worth -halfing in a day – might amount to news – but it wasn’t typed out or referred to .

It’s almost as though the BBC editorial has a drive to keep the lock down going – now whether this is to stick to government policy or for their own reasons is debatable .

In my little bit of north east London I’ve been out to shops once in the last two days . Roads are busier – there are more people around . I think people have had enough – a speech by Bojo won’t hack it .

The pressure to explain how the economy can get going again has to come soon – especially since the French are going to announce theirs Tuesday .

On Socialism for the Day today on Toady at 0750 we heard an unadulterated left wing polemic from someone in the ‘Ionian Community’. Self-isolating is of course pretty much what happens on Iona 24/7/365.

Who presumably will not have to pay towards the taxpayer funded largesse he was advocating.

I look forward to a centre-right Thought for the Day extolling the virtues of self-reliance, living within your means, individuality, small state, entrepreneurship, generating wealth through your own efforts, not relying on others, not expecting others to fund your own lifestyle choices. In the interests of balance, you understand.

But it could be a very long wait.

I think a great comment that should be thrown back at the media came from DR Birx when asked about the media fairness.

““Do you think the media in this country has been fair throughout this pandemic?”
Birx answered, “I think the media is very slicey and dicey about how they put sentences together in order to create headlines.””

My understanding was great artists lived impoverished lonely lives in a Parisian garret, and were only discovered after death. Ok, bit harsh, nevertheless they could always take the radical step of getting a job to finance their hobby.

Bbc TV News at 1: Lengthy tributes to BAME ‘frontline’ losses on bbc news, children talking about losing mothers etc. Whatever sympathy one must feel, it is tempered by the knowledge that this has been a regular pattern on beeb, supporting Labour and giving rise to the Doreen Lawrence inquiry.
The personal thus becomes political, again, and the beeb really started it (with a little help the from of ITV). All the way through to Panorama tonight: “Has the Government failed the NHS?”
One could equally well ask: “Has the NHS failed the Government?” Not its frontline workers, but its top-heavy, many-layered management structures, Trusts, PHE etc etc, who apparently rehearsed a pandemic.
They will, no doubt, blame ‘cuts’ for not carrying it through. But I blame them; this was their job, and -no doubt- they were well paid to do it.
It’s quite clear that Surkeer will be using the pandemic to whip the government, and the bbc are winding up to help him.
Beeb obsession with ‘minorities’ is very one-sided, however. When Andrew Harding reported from South Africa, there was not a white face in sight! We saw only black and Asian faces, so BAME rules –except, in this case it was the Black and Ethnic Majority! No ‘minorities’ of interest here, for beeb.
There does seem to be a familiar bias here.

‘Reliable figures’ from the BBC reveal 70% and 75% drops in A&E patient attendance with heart attack, stroke and or cancer symptoms – though, oddly, they don’t appear to want to extrapolate these stats to be included in potential overall UK deaths. Better by far to assume that all are within care homes and all Corvid-related, because that’s a much thicker stick with which to beat HM Gov.

    • EUTV says:

We were bombarded with programmes highlighting time wasters and piss heads wasting A&E.

It must be a fair assumption that they are staying home instead of clogging up the system. I haven’t seen it mentioned anywhere. All the media do is assume the missing are dead.

  47. BRISSLES says:

At a hospital in Kent (and assume most hospitals in the UK) all deaths are recorded as Covid 19 so we are never going to get an accurate number of ’caused’ deaths. My source tells me – what we’ve known all along, that the number of national deaths hasn’t even reached the number of deaths that are normally caused by flu each year. And at the same hospital, 40 locum doctors have been sent home – lack of nothing to do, while we are sat at home waiting for our hospital appointments.
