I apologise if this has already been mentioned, I have skimmed back over yesterday’s thread and can’t see it but may have missed it . Not the BBC but ITV for which I also apologise. I recorded the ‘life of Captain Tom moore’ yesterday and just watched it. I thought it might be about Britain as it used to be. Indeed it was until 3/4 of the way though for no other reason apart from the fact that otherwise there would be no mention of blacks in the programme, they suddenly start going on about how ‘ Britain needed a helping hand’ so blacks came to the rescue in the 1960’s’ leading into a section about how important blacks and Pakistanis were to Britain and how badly they were treated . What the %%% had this to do about anything ???. You can imagine them all at their desks ( sorry, in their zooms) at the BBC ITV SKY etc making sure that every program somehow has blacks or Muslims in it and finding ways to fit them in making sure no program ever gets out about straight white British people alone.

I think the BBC narrative is that when Labour got rid of Grammar Schools in working class areas and introduced Progressive state education. Then effectively everyone brainwashed by left-wing teaching methods in these Labour areas, effectively became uneducated. So the Labour Government had to import people from countries that still had a traditional education system inherited from the British Empire.

This has now infected British Universities to the point were almost everyone employed by the BBC is effectively uneducated. That’s why they cant intellectually cope with our complains.

I’ve been collecting data from the BBC website on an ad hoc basis for about three years now. Not sure what I am going to do with it all but it has given me an understanding of what the BBC is about.

The BBC wokeness came from the US & British University system which has spread out to infiltrate other institutions through its graduates. So the “BBC bias” is a reflection of what is happening elsewhere in our society.

However as the BBC is clearly not meeting its charter obligations and is now just a propaganda outlet it is justifiable to call for it to be defunded.

Has a ring to it, doesn’t it? It could become the title for a new series of regular posts. I’m sorry I got bored with the repetitive nature of my former series “Today’s Murder”. We’ll see how this one goes.
Taking in the sights on a stroll down by the turn-off from the dual carriageway, beside the cheery roadside floral tributes and the silver glint of discarded nitrous oxide canisters in the gutters, one passes the shovel-ready projects waived through planning permission by our borough council. There’s not much of note beside the modular homes under the flyover for the homeless (that’ll make some of them feel at home, since we call them homeless I guess they’ve been living under bridges?) and let’s not overlook the mosque expansion. Or is that rapidly evolving building still known as the Islamic community centre – I think that was last year?
Private enterprise is pitching in to help exacerbate the housing crisis by selling something they like to term ‘garden homes’ that are really glorified backyard sheds. Well, haven’t we all got that awkward cousin from Karachi, or wherever, who insists on coming for a long visit and arrives with his entire family in tow. Now you can put them all up in your garden home. Think of purchasing a garden home as something akin to us old Cockneys having that couple of spare garden chairs you used to bring indoors so as to fit all nine round the table for Christmas dinner. If we all just budged up a bit there’d be room for an almost infinite number of us around the table. And it was only for the one day. Happy days.

Teachers assessments are always high because it pays them to have high pass % amongst their pupils. The individual teacher and the school benefits. In the old days , fifty years ago, teachers had no input as everything depended on the exam result which was marked independently and then moderated so that approx the same number of pupils out of the thousands sitting the exam got A, B, C , D etc each year. Then the education lobby got hold of it and within a few decades it became a degraded fiasco.

Wokism is permeating all our institutions, the police, the MSM, sport etc etc. I noted yesterday that the Chief Sportswriter for the Telegraph , Oliver Brown, wrote a piece in which he suggested that Exeter Chiefs rugby club’s determination to keep its name smacked of old style thinking and was out of sync with this time of BAME emancipation. Everyone he claimed had a moral duty to support a movement which sought to free BAME from the shackles imposed on them by white society and this duty would never go away and , of course, sport must play a prominent role.

Clearly anyone refusing to ‘take the knee’ in professional sport would have to be made of stern stuff when sports writers are universally urging their team mates to do. You would stand out like a sore thumb and no doubt be pilloried and likely to lose your career. The same is likely true in other professions such as acting, music.

So BLM is sweeping the board but why has it achieved such power so quickly? Only because decades of ground work had been done by the likes of the BBC to prepare for it and because it wasn’t nipped in the bud at the very first illegal statue toppling.

I’m sure that many white liberals who currently support the movement think it will end with everyone living in harmony in a multi cultural utopia and that all the BAMEs will gratefully embrace liberal values. They are playing a dangerous game because I think it much more likely , almost certain, that the BAMEs will seek to impose their various alien cultural norms on western whites and a culture which has created the modern world will be extinguished for ever to the detriment of everyone.
Im sure the wiser a Romans’ felt like this when decadence and decay became the norm in the late fourth century. Within fifty years the Roman Empire crumbled and Europe entered four hundred years of the Dark Ages.

Double- BAME ’emancipation’? From what exactly? They’ve been strutting their stuff, cock a hoop, on a continent they did nothing to build and whose culture they are trying to ‘appropriate’.
They are forcing us (or those of us who can’t think for themselves) into bowing down before them, and virtually running a different Law for themselves, which we are not privileged to.
I had hoped rugby would avoid the knee-taking nonsense that has befallen football, but the MSM seem anxious to whip them onto the BLM line. On YT, Dr Steve Turley observed yesterday how the tide was turning in the US, and ‘knee takers’ were booed at a football match in Texas.
A twirp like Oliver Brown merely exposes how deeply even formerly conservative media are partaking in bullying the populace into line. I shan’t be buying my weekend copy of The Telegraph this morning, or ever again. That paper has joined the woke with great enthusiasm?
Everyone has a ‘moral duty’ to bow down before satanism, eh? Cos when you look at what’s going on, the links to the whole ‘celebrity culture’ become all too clear.

Here’s my contribution to what this website has to do with alarming regularity. Provide more detail and context on the biased, selective, partial news of the BBC which despite their vast resources they are unwilling to do. In doing so I admit that I give individual teachers ( as opposed to their unions) a little more understanding than many correspondents might.

The BBC are gorging on the A level results ‘chaos’ and the hard luck stories of various students.

In a normal year, teachers predict A level results to support university applications. Quite understandably they do so ‘sunny side up’. In other words if the student works really hard and maybe has a bit of luck they should achieve a certain grade. Of course although this may be possible for any given student, it is highly unlikely to happen for all students. Statistically therefore teachers will over-grade at the macro level. It doesn’t make the process Machiavellian, we can call it benign human nature.

So when we come to Coronavirus and A level assessment marks, it should not be surprising that teachers will over-grade. As I said above, this is mainly benign, some admittedly will be unprofessionally over-grading for whatever reason. It is also important to note that teachers had to put every student in every class in a rank order from top to bottom, as well as giving them a grade. Clearly at national level this gave scope to define where the grade boundaries (A to B etc) should be, and it is always at the boundaries that they issues occur.

Now comes the inside information. At a certain secondary school I know well, I have it on good authority that 35% of grades were downgraded by 1 grade. This is the measure of the benign over-grading I mentioned.

But the key thing is that the A level results for the whole school (%A*-B for instance) are not only better than last year but about the same as the best ever year, 2017. And I believe nationally the results are about the same as last year.

To put it clearly, this shows how absolutely ludicrous it would be to rely only on the raw assessment of individual teachers. It also shows how weak and pathetic is the Scottish SNP government and wee krankie for caving in to populist pressure and allowing for teachers assessments to be accepted unmodulated.

But the BBC give none of this. All we get are the sob stories from those who have not received the grades they needed for their first choice next education/ job/ apprenticeship. Such failure happens every year of course. But that’s been forgotten.

The BBC knew well what their headline would be before the results were even released. Their standard of investigating, understanding, and reporting is absolutely, totally pathetic. Our local newspaper does a better job.

      Good post Sluff
the BBC really don’t do – let’s look at the actual facts – it is always let’s find the negative in every story, find a ‘victim’ and expand…

I still maintain that teachers should be encouraged to predict accurately….and there are ways to do this…but currently no incentive it would seem..
Like many things the problems with current attitudes/ behaviours/ rules only become visible when exceptional circumstances appear..but the BBC, rather than help improve for the future, look to blame (normally the Govt) and find a victim for their short term ‘wokeness’ wagon

Today at the National Arboretum near Burton on Trent, a memorial serivce is being shown to mark VJ DAY- quite rightly so-many people appear to think that WW2 ended with the capitulation of Germany 1945, however meanwhile allied troops were still fighting the most terrible battle against the Japanese. The brutality of the Jap soldiers far out weighed the actions of the Nazi’s. My wife and I had family and close friends and associates who suffered terribly as prisoners at the hands of the Japenese. Some when Japan surrendered, left their prison camps weighing as little as 5 1/2 stone, emaciated-when the japs came into Singapore where some of our family were then living, the Jap soldiers entered one hospital and killed quite indiscriminately all Doctors, Nurses and patients, some just bayonetted-that is showing the mindset of those soldiers, and really how that mindset manifested itself throughout their invasion. We know the Japanese slaughtered many thousands of Chinese when invading Manchuria and continued to carry on their killing in Hong Kong, down into Burma and Malayia, Singapore. Words are inadequate to explain what was suffered by the allied military particularly the British troops and the civilians. Wifes uncle fought with the Chindits throughout, a very brave soldier and an excellent officer who asked his men to do nothing he would not do himself and did. Doubtful as to whether the Japanese have actually altered-still right wing Japanese who do not accept their surrender. I am glad that attention is being brought to the Japanese war in the far east, and would hope that the younger generation be made well aware of what took place at that time and of the unnecessary suffering in many cases-allied forces would never have treated Japanese prisoners with the same brutality. So much owed to those very brave men and women who fought that awful war.

Although we can certainly expect the woke bbc to wax lyrical about Kamala between now and November. All those boxes ticked.
Oh yes, and we also heard about Obama beginning to interfere in the election, wanting more funding for the US Postal Service (postal voting, nice racket in the UK too). But then, he has been leading the charge to oust the President ever since the inauguration.

“Thank you for contacting the Home Office.
    Your message has been logged.
We aim to provide a response within 20 working days.”

Surely better to equate the response time, not in terms of days, but in terms of the number of new invaders being accommodated in 4 Star hotels?
So, ‘We aim to provide a response within 2000 invasion incidents’
    There, that’s better.

Immediately I heard the recent plea from the BBC for Brits to house these illegal invaders and, no doubt, the negative response, that exercise will herald the way forward to demand whitee gives up his/her home and his/her possessions as the only way forward.

Can’t help but notice the BBC are rather sniffy about the historic normalisation of relations between Israel and UAE.

Well, look at it from their point of view. If they acknowledge the importance of the deal they would have to praise President Trump for a significant foreign policy breakthrough. Or, failing that the BBC would have to celebrate Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu for his statesmanship.

‘compact-online’ (.de) carries a rather familiar article today, entitled “It’s always the Germans!”, about the identity of the criminals in all the ‘whodunit’ programmes broadcast by the G. ‘public service’/force funded TV channels.
Apparently, a contrary reality notwithstanding, the baddies are always indigenous Germans, never one of Ms Merkels ‘guests’/’migrants’.
Must be in the service of edderkashin as well as entertainment.

‘Die Welt’ carries a chat show headed “Are the bosses of the ARD (as in bbc) earning too much?” The discussion starts off indignantly excusing the newsreader who declared there to be 139 million Covid 19 deaths in the US to date, instead of 139,000!

The bbbc certainly will remember them and will be going after them for what will be almost two weeks of their pensions (they will all be on the old second class state pension and not the newer, higher state pension)

I see the Government are saying they will pay for all the appeals going in regarding the exam grades. Shouldn’t that be corrected to the ‘Taxpayer’ will pay for them.

I agree News Editorial Director Kamal Ahmed is not a foreigner
just as a child of a British expat born in Thailand is not a foreigner to Thailand.
But such a child is not 100% indigenous, and will probably be quite rooted in British culture.
The Thai people would probably always refer to the child as “farang”, and if such a child gained a position of power and started telling Thai people how to use their own language there would be resistance.
Such thoughts are the beginning of debate not the end of it.
I could imagine that one sibling might be rooted in Thai culture and the other in British etc. and could understand Thai people resisting changes imposed by the latter.

Personally, I don’t care if he is a ‘foreigner’, or not. The term is a vague one anyway, and as Stew points out in most parts of the world is thrown around with far more abandon than it is here in the UK, where we’re generally very tolerant of ‘foreigners’.

What I do care about is the increasing political armament of our language, in this country, and globally. With ever encroaching minefields of words, phrases, and by implication thoughts, which are ‘no go’ areas, and if you dare step into them, even ever so innocently – BOOM!

It’s Orwellian, and it doesn’t solve anything as it’s not the words that are themselves ‘racist’, or ‘genderist’, or whatever you’re trying to ban this week. If you want to change mindsets you need to show (via genuine example and evidence) that the mindset is wrong, when you can’t… well, then either the evidence you have is insufficient (or insufficiently convincing), or maybe the mindset isn’t actually wrong in the first place?

Anyway, banning words and phrases doesn’t really change mindsets, because in the longterm people just devise alternate ones to replace them. ANY word can be used as an insult, and people have been coming up with new ones, and new meanings for old ones since people existed. All it does is annoy people.

Mortgage fraud of that type is extremely common, particularly among the working class, who often find it hard to comply with all the requirements to get a mortgage these days, particularly re: debts, so need to rely on family for help.

Let’s be honest, the middle classes do exactly the same, just it’s about ‘contacts’ and pulling strings, rather than asking a family member to tell a white lie to cover for you. Need a signature from a bank manager, or a magistrate confirming your debts are secured, no problem if you have the right friends.

TR’s greatest crime seems to be that he is a white, working class man, who doesn’t know his place (i.e. doesn’t know when to keep his mouth shut and doff his cap). Some might even argue that shouldn’t really be a crime.
