Jacinda Ardern has announced she will quit as New Zealand prime minister next month, saying she wants to pursue her lifelong dream of racing in the Kentucky Derby.
“Ms Ardern, 42, said she had taken time to consider her future over several buckets of hay and carrots this summer.
I really shouldn’t be prime minister,” she told reporters. “I should be running with the other horses in Kentucky.”

The Sky News political editor offered her resignation after being caught attending Kay Burley’s 60th birthday party whilst London was under Tier 2 coronavirus restrictions.

The Standard caught up with her on a typically frenetic morning in Westminster where she has already conducted “pre-recorded” interviews for her show and then reaction to PMQs, saying: “I’ve had two outfit changes already.”

Andy Marsh, chief executive of the College of Policing, which sets police standards and training, was on Today this morning and claimed that cases like David Carrick were due to Tory cuts….the cuts meant police forces had to choose where to allocate resources and so decided not to vet their recruits and officers.

Surprisingly Amol Rajan didn’t jump on this claim one way or the other, either to trash the Tories or to challenge it, especially as Marsh sets police standards and how they are trained. Marsh clearly trying to pass the buck and dodge any blame.

I expected the next news bulletin to have this up in lights but again, surprisingly, they haven’t mentioned it yet or indeed reported the interview at all ass far as I can see.

Of course they are rather busy trashing the Tories over funding allocation to the Regions so maybe we’ll get the hit-job a bit later the day.

Just a month ago the BBC was highlighting poverty in wealthy areas…and blaming the Tories for not doing anything….

‘Cost of living: The hidden poverty in England’s least deprived area’

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-63978499

Now they’re trashing the Tories for helping such areas.

Presumably marsh will wait for his gong when red Labour get power. But if there is an inquiry – it should include the decision to drop vetting standards – which I posit was in the name of diversity and getting certain types with cautions and convictions into plod ….
The rapist – as I understand – had done a bit of army time – which I thought had become a disqualifying factor ….

If Marsh thought vetting wasn’t important – vital – to public confidence – he should go find a job for which he might be better qualified – perhaps a BBC fact checker …

The BBC global pin up WEF global leader resigns from New Zealand.. Another failed progressive.

“Ardern, who formerly worked as an adviser in Tony Blair’s government, failed to take heed of the first part of his slogan: “tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime”. The normally-placid country was shocked by a crime wave involving ram-raids and murders as the country reopened from its covid imprisonment. Police officers became sick of having to release delinquent youths they had arrested in the morning, only to see them reoffending in the evening. Then there was her war on farmers. New Zealand’s agricultural sector was the crown jewel of the country’s economy – one which, unlike its counterparts in other developed countries, stood on its own two feet, without subsidies. Then came Ardern’s extreme climate change agenda, which threatened to put many farmers out of business if they could not meet impossible emissions-reduction targets”.

Another nail in the coffin in the BBC global WEF (global leaders – BBC dept – 101).
Canadian failed ‘progressive’ Justin Tradeu is of the same failed lefty mindset that has locked up Canadians truck drivers during extensive unnecessary Covid lock-downs and forced COVID vaccinations that cause early heart attacks were ignored (still are by the left progressives).

Then we learn Tony Blair was involved in training Ahrdern to ignore voters and ‘save the planet’ and net zero nonsense we are all forced to follow.

As Rishi faces backbench criticism for easing his rhetoric on China, Guido can reveal yet more incidences of warming relations with the authoritarian state. The Treasury today rolled out the red carpet to Chinese influence. Iain Duncan Smith should avert his gaze now.

In a special themed meal, the department displayed Chinese flags and oriental decorations. Knowing Whitehall, someone’s going down for cultural appropriation.

Co-conspirators won’t be surprised to see that the tofu-eating wokerati are making themselves at home in the Treasury, with “tofu, water chestnut and mushroom in black bean sauce” one of the meals on offer – for a modest £5.02. The meal went down well. A source claims the queue was the longest they’ve seen, adding that the dumplings “looked peng”. Guido’s just glad the Chancellor wasn’t behind the move. The coffers couldn’t handle the strain of subsidised sushi.

No question about whose side the BBC is on for this : the fellow far-Left activist Trump hater.

What is interesting though is how they tell us both will be charged ‘with two counts of involuntary manslaughter’.
    Then they tell us:
‘Both face up to 18 months in jail and a $5,000 (£4,040) fine if convicted.’

But what they completely omit is that one of the two charges actually carries a mandatory 5 year jail term for the use of a firearm.

    Then they tell us:

‘After the shooting, Mr Baldwin said the gun had misfired. He added that he did not pull the trigger and was not aware that it was loaded. ‘

But completely omit the statement from the FBI that the gun funtioned normally and hence Baldwin was lying.

Just sloppy reporting by quota employees or deliberate to try and put him in the best light they can ?.

By: Washington Examiner, February 17, 2021:

“Project Veritas released video Tuesday of Mr. Zuckerberg raising questions about whether vaccines include risks of side effects such as “modifying people’s DNA and RNA” in July during a virtual Q&A meeting with staff.

“I do just want to make sure that I share some caution on this because we just don’t know the long-term side effects of basically modifying people’s DNA and RNA to directly code in a person’s DNA and RNA,” Mr. Zuckerberg said in the video. “Basically the ability to produce those antibodies and whether that causes other mutations or other risks downstream.”

He concluded: “So there’s work on both paths of vaccine development.”

In a Feb. 8 post, Facebook updated its COVID-19 and vaccine policies “to protect people from harmful content and new types of abuse related to COVID-19 and vaccines,” saying it would remove posts that included “Claims that the COVID-19 vaccine changes people’s DNA.”

Project Veritas president James O’Keefe said that the newly leaked tape showed Mr. Zuckerberg “violating his own code of conduct” and that “he would be censored on the platform today for what he said.”

As predicted the US has hit its debt ceiling thanks to Bidens ridiculous spending having burned through $2.5 trillion in just one year.
That’s on top of all the tax receipts and also the receipts from the strategic oil reserve which he emptied for political advantage.

It’s a shocking level of profligacy which has to be brought under control but Biden is not up for any compromise, and this is the issue which is leading to financial markets to speculate on a debt default.

Here is Democrat supporting New York Times take on it:

    https://www.nytimes.com/2023/01/19/us/politics/debt-limit-economy.html

“Newly empowered House Republicans have vowed that they will not raise the borrowing limit again unless President Biden agrees to steep cuts in federal spending. Mr. Biden has said he will not negotiate conditions for a debt-limit increase, arguing that lawmakers should lift the cap with no strings attached to cover spending that previous Congresses authorized.”

      • Thoughtful says:

It wouldn’t be the first US debt default, but it would be significant as the US AAA rating was downgraded to AA, this makes it more expensive for a country to borrow money, and with a $31.5 trillion debt that is not something the US wants.
There’s the effect on the Dollar of course, and that would have a massive effect on US inflation

The world reserve currency would be destabilised again, and the Russians will make a big thing of this together with the BRICS nations, to adopt a different reserve currency.

Outside the school the parents were waiting to pick up their kiddies. There were a lot of cars.

Over 16 minutes a woman (BAME as it turns out) had her engine running the whole time, keeping warm presumably while waiting for offspring to come out.

    Not BBC but ITV.

    10 pm news. First story.
Excess deaths due to the elderly being afraid to put the heating on.
One 92 year old stares at her smart meter and allows herself £3 per….day we assume, it wasn’t specified.

Now there is a winter fuel payment of £400 and there are special additional payments of at least £67 per month. More for those on benefits.

Therefore the elderly CAN afford heating. But they are afraid. Why? Partly because of those dreadful smart meters, which people watch and see the numbers go up and get worried and want them to stop.

Then there is the ceaseless coverage of the ‘energy’ crisis by the media. The elderly get frightened again.

But ITV refuse to countenance the above factors and use it only as an ‘evil Tories not given out enough handouts’ narrative.

    An important story, selectively reported.

Migrant workers in the UK, many in low-paid jobs, are sending £8bn a year to support families in their home countries, says a report from the United Nations’ education agency.

This is often used to help relations in poorer countries to stay in school.

    Here we go AGAIN,

“BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors’ cousin was tasered SIX times in 42 seconds as other officers tried to pin and handcuff him in the street as he yelled, ‘help me please’ before dying hours later in hospital”

We have to delve further into the article to find:

he began acting erratically when he attempted to flee from police and resist arrest after a ‘felony hit-and-run,’ car crash on January 3.

“He was transported to a hospital where he suffered from a medical episode and died four-and-a-half hours later. His cause of death has not be established and a preliminary toxicology report found cocaine metabolite and cannabinoids in his system.”

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11653937/BLM-founder-Patrisse-Cullors-cousin-tasered-SIX-times-offices-died.html

    Yet, still:

“Anderson’s death has raised concerns by Mayor Karen Bass, and a number of community activist on whether the officers tactics were too excessive  “

Its bad here with the illegals coming in and RNLI ferries getting them here to the British Isles, but 250,000

Tomo – I agree on the wood wood angle – I read too much watergate stuff as a kid and don’t recall woodwood being anything other than a journo ….but now I think of it – Robert Redford played wood wood but also played a CIA operative in some other film …. Suspicious eh?

I actually think what Tucker said has a ‘ring ‘ to it …. And I always thought that the press attacks on Nixon were obsessive – until repeated with Trump …

Eric Hunley + Mark Groubert have covered quite a bit about the relationships between the CIA / deep state and US media and Hollywood on “America’s Untold Stories” YouTube channel.

            – yet they only provide “a lot of dots”! – when you see who’s doing what, in what sequence some conclusions are inescapable.

That article is very revealing and should make everybody afraid.

There is no doubt that Ukraine is now a world-war and Russia are going to mobilise on that basis. It is going to get much worse after the winter.

Putin didn’t want NATO in Ukraine because he didn’t trust that they were a purely defensive organisation for it’s members. I have to say I agree with him on that.

What worries me most is the WW2 level propaganda we are being spoon-fed and how completely people are swallowing it.

TOADY Watch #1 – aah, now I have heard of him …

… TOADY and the 6 a.m. News brings me news of the death of David Crosby. In the normal course of life, the BBC are usually anxious to tell me of some American musician that I have never heard of and who never really achieved anything. I guess that is due to the BBC’s America obsession. I didn’t think much of the BBC’s choice of music in the news of David Crosby’s death. Perhaps they are missing Ken Bruce already?

    And in the UK:

“Hundreds of migrants in UK are ‘dangerous criminals’ amid call for ‘national outrage’
Last year, over 44,700 migrants made the perilous journey across the English Channel in small boats to seek asylum in the UK.

An investigation by The Sun has revealed that a large number of migrants who have arrived in Britain are “dangerous criminals”, including rapists, murderers, and terrorists. Among the hundreds who have been found to be serious criminals are also gangsters, child sex-offenders and drug dealers.

A large number of the criminal migrants are currently living in homes funded by the taxpayer and are working illegally in the UK with cash handouts.

The whistle-blower who asked to remain anonymous explained the situation to The Sun.

They said: “If people knew the truth about these people, it would provoke national outrage – and it should.

“Hundreds of serious criminals are living all over the country, with many continuing to commit crimes, work illegally and claim benefits.

“And once they get into this country it is almost impossible to get rid of them.”
