“The Sun reported that one Albanian who came to the UK murdered his wife for which he went to prison for ten years and cannot be sent home due to human rights concerns that his victim’s family will kill him.

The man in question reportedly runs a cash-in-hand car wash near a Waitrose supermarket in Northamptonshire and claims benefits while battling for asylum in the courts with legal aid provided by the UK taxpayer.”

The fact is that the Biden Presidency has been a monumental failure and this is how history is going to judge it. Marked as a time when the Left of the party were allowed to gain control of it and run checked with ludcrous insane policies which went against almost everything Biden said on the campaign trail which wasn’t much because the party kept him hidden.

We now have a state of affairs where the Biden administration has burned through $4 trillion of borrowing in just two years, $3 Trillion in the first year $1 trillion plus in the second year with no sign of slowing down. Now the US has hit the debt ceiling and has moved so called ‘extraordinary measures’ which involve deferring spending on some issues until a compromise is reached.

This time the problems are different Biden is saying he won’t even negotiate with the house and he wants a no strings attached complete removal of the debt ceiling altogether so he can take his wasteful squandering to a whole new level without limit. On the other hand you have Senators like Andy Briggs saying enough is enough and the debt is unsustainable, $4 trillion borrowing is more than enough for any term and Biden needs to live within his means, and he is not prepared to lift the debt ceiling at all even if it means the US defaulting on its debts.

Here Briggs holds all the aces, if no agreement is reached he acheives his objective of not raising the debt ceiling. If on the other hand McCarthy tries to do so Briggs can simply oust him as speaker, because as a condition of the 6 dissenting representatives voting for McCarthy it was agreed that any single one of them could remove the speaker just by withdrawing their support.

That is why this time it’s so very different, and why the usual brinksmanship of taking time to reach some kind of agreement might well push the US into default status, and it would only take one senator prepared to teach the legislature a hard lesson to cause that to happen.

Fed, it is generally accepted in US politics that the President will not normally be challenged if he (or she – hasn’t happened – yet) wishes to run for a second term in office. I watched the amusing Tucker but sad clip posted in this Thread by tomo and it does seem like ‘they’ want to elbow ‘Beijing Biden’ aside. The President’s wife, Jill Biden, did not want her husband to run for Party nomination in the first place because she feared for the impact it would have on his health. It is a pressured job.

I suspect that ‘China Joe’ (he’s kinda fragile) is being moved aside to give Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez and maybe Kamala Harris freedom to seek the Democratic Party nomination.

The LeftMob in the MSM are going to run with this “Rishi Sunak didn’t wear a seat belt!” thing for days. It will be interesting to watch how long it it lasts before it becomes stale news. My advice to Conservative Party MPs is stay away from Twitter, steer clear of Facebook and keep your phone in a pocket or bag for a real emergency.

Try a George Clooney Rishi ! and watch your popularity rise. lol !

The Vision of the Anointed (1995) is a book by economist and political columnist Thomas Sowell which brands the anointed as promoters of a worldview concocted out of fantasy impervious to any real-world considerations.[1] Sowell asserts that these thinkers, writers, and activists continue to be revered even in the face of evidence disproving their positions.

Sowell argues that American thought is dominated by a “prevailing vision” which seals itself off from any empirical evidence that is inconsistent with that vision.

The book challenges people Sowell refers to as “Teflon prophets,” who predict that there will be future social, economic, or environmental problems in the absence of government intervention (Ralph Nader is one of his foremost examples).

The book was initially published in 1995 by Basic Books.[2] It was described as a “masterpiece” by Nick Cater.[3]

In my book, you cannot assert ‘Climate Change’ is happening without clarifying your position on the matter. Are you one following the religion, blindly i.e. in, ‘The End of The World’ camp or, do you believe that the climate is changing and has been for millions of years – what goes up, comes down sooner or later.

Richard Tice did not identify with any camp and, in my book, is therefore suspect on that subject.

If anyone interprets his assertions otherwise, please let me know.

      • JohnC says:

Indeed – I saw that and wondered if the fact that the report ‘did not determine he had colluded with Russia’ was the reason it was all dismissed.

But that’s bizarre because it was never going to do that : the whole point was to sabotage Trumps chances during the election.

Then ‘but the special counsel said his report did not exonerate the president of obstruction of justice’ is absolutely irrelevant for this story and is clearly added to make you think he is guilty of something. And if the charges were totally fake – as we now know they were – obstructing someone trying to fake them is understandable.

There is a big piece missing from this pie – and when you see that on the BBC, it is usually a deliberate lie by omission.

      * I was born in Bangladesh, raised in the United Arab Emirates and attended Morehouse College in the U.S.

more than anything, I like to believe I’m a matchmaker of sorts for minority journalists. I have made it my mandate to identify, nurture and place BIPOC and LGBTQ writers and reporter in newsrooms across America.

Most recently, I was the Head of Digital Journalism at the BBC, recruited to lead its editorial strategy as it seeks to aggressively expand in the North American market. My remit was to not just overhaul the kinds of pieces the BBC produces but also the platforms to showcase them – from newsletters, to social, to video, to a website and app. In the short time I was there, the North American traffic grew each month.

At NPR, I combined four disparate teams into one, grew it to the largest – and most diverse unit – in the organization, and rethought the way we create and curate content across site, social, streaming platforms and smart speakers.

Before I joined NPR in 2021, I led CNN’s content diversity initiative, birthed the top two newsletters in CNN’s portfolio: 5 Things and The Good Stuff, and won an Emmy for Best Interactive Media.
