You know what’s going to happen? The groundswell of public opinion against immigration and islamisation will grow to such an extent that even the BBC won’t be able to deny it, ignore it, or dismiss it as far-right extremism, bla bla.
At which point they’ll go very quiet on the subject; they’ll stop demonising its advocates, and they might even join what they perceive to be the winning side. Headlines like “We demand an end to unfettered immigration” might start appearing and they’ll pretend to have been on the side of common sense all along.
It’ll be like when the horrors of Soviet communism became undeniable. The hard left (which was most of academia) never fessed up to having been on the wrong side of history; they never apologised or admitted that conservatives had been right all along. They just went quiet.
That might happen. Another possibility is that the government will conflate anti-semitism with Islamophobia (sic) and anti-immigration sentiment and crack down on all of them. The BBC, as the state broadcaster, will thus (and enthusiastically) double-down on any dissent by the WISE* British people.
