Rather bizarrely, food inflation is reported as 1.3%, the lowest in 5 years. What? Is that a 1.3% increase since this time yesterday? Anyone who has gone anywhere near a supermarket recently knows that food costs are rocketing, with some items having doubled in price since last year. And that’s not factoring in shrinkflation, where manufacturers slyly reduce the weight or quantity whilst maintaining or increasing the price (the BBC once described Waitrose as a ‘victim’ of shrinkflation, showing they do not understand the difference between victim and perpetrator). Still, pensioners can always items which have come down in price: “Let them eat dashboard cameras” as Marie Antoinette might have said.
The BBC reports: In an interesting turn of phrase, the ONS says that one area where food price growth has slowed is for “meat of cows” – or as everyone else might call it “beef”. It is indeed both an interesting turn of phrase and interesting that the BBC has highlighted it. What is its significance? The ONS report was written by someone who does not have English as a first language? Somebody who does not eat ‘meat of cows’ for religious reasons? A vegetarian or vegan with an axe to grind (hopefully not literally)? Is this an opening shot in a new campaign against beef – you know, against nasty McDonalds, or the farting cows that are causing Global Boiling ™ and making fields in Stourbridge spontaneously burst into flames?

I’ve been watching a few podcasts by Nathan Cofnas the ex Cambridge academic who revealed the truth about Arday’s ‘research’ and total unsuitability to be a Professor .
One of the curious findings of Cofnas’s own research is that leftists have higher average IQs than rightists, which he , being a man of the right himself , is disappointed by but as he says facts are facts.
We all know the old adage that someone who isn’t a leftist in their 20’s has no heart and anyone who is still a leftist in their 30’s has no brains.
I don’t know where his research was conducted or if there are geographical trends within it but for the UK I think that anyone who has attended University this century has been brainwashed into long term leftist views and May have never grown up, they remain intellectually stuck in their 20’s. Thanks to Blair this is a large slice of the population and was probably one of his key objectives.
Only those with sufficient intellectual capacity to sooner or later reject this indoctrination or those who didn’t go to uni , have actually gone through the process of growing up. The rest remain indoctrinated and unthinking leftists .
Basically if you don’t go to Uni in the UK you are more likely to ‘grow up’ than if you do.If you do go to Uni then the higher your critical thinking ability the more likely to ‘grow up’ by first rejecting the leftist indoctrination.

For the London Leicester Square and Westminster Bridge crews some form of temporary institutionalisation, somewhere remote seems likely to be the only viable method of removal – fluffy sloganeering isn’t going anywhere but swelling PR agency profits – a bit harsh, I know… but then, many of them use harsh tactics in their interactions with passers by… There were a minority who seemed to be sane folk coping with awful personal circumstances – but the absolute nutters were front and centre…
Don’t expect the flagship policy to acknowledge uncomfortable reality. Me – I’d provision The Guardian offices as a homeless shelter for starters and insist all staff accommodate at least two at home.
