But Asquith Xavier’s claim to immortality is that he was…drumroll…the first black railway guard in Britain. Well, blow me down, hold the front page.

Trump accuses the BBC of harassment. The BBC wants to compel Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Jared Kushner to provide evidence showing that January 6 was not fabricated by the FBI and the reporting and call to violence reported by the BBC was true. Alejandro Brito, counsel for the president, has described the BBC’s “sweeping” requests for documents as “oppressive.”
The BBC’s lawyers argued that the president’s oldest son, Donald Trump Jr.; his daughter Ivanka Trump; and her husband, Jared Kushner, all have “personal knowledge” and records relevant to claims against the BBC, according to a filing in federal court in Miami on Aug. 14. The BBC has been unable to serve subpoenas because the three have Secret Service protection as well as other security personnel around them. The Democrat lead FBI effectively bypassed US law by laundering operations out to MI6 through the five eyes network. FBI whistle-blower Kyle Seraphim showed that January 6 was fabricated by the FBI and the reporting and call to violence was fabricated by the British from the British Embassy using the BBC Media Action lead Trusted News Initiative (TNI).
Donald Trump filed the lawsuit in December 2025, seeking $10 billion in damages from the BBC. The case centres around the BBC’s editing of a speech the president made on Jan. 6, 2021, before the U.S. Capitol was breached. The filing claims that both Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump were present in the Oval Office when the president was revising his speech, adding that Donald Trump Jr. also spoke with his father shortly after the breach.
A spokesman for Donald Trump’s legal team said that “the BBC is simply trying to distract away from [its] own obvious liability.” “The BBC intentionally defamed President Donald J. Trump, and now the BBC is seeking to harass him, his family, and supporters by abusing the deposition process,” his legal team said in a statement.
In its “Panorama” program broadcast on Oct. 28, 2024, the broadcaster spliced together portions of the president’s speech in a way that appeared to show him directly urging supporters to attack the Capitol, and omitted a lengthy section in which he called for peaceful protest.
The lawsuit claims that the BBC editing was “a brazen attempt to interfere in and influence” the 2024 presidential election.
The White House states that the editor of the BBC News clip of Trumps speech, which first aired on the evening of January 6, 2021, will be revealed in the Florida court. The editor worked in the BBC World News America, Editorial Desk, Video Editing Unit, in Washington DC, at the time of January 6, 2021. The editor used IBM Watson AI and open‑source TensorFlow tools customised by BBC Research & Development. The editor used AI to create the malicious edit, leaving out the usual ‘flash’ between segments. But the actual cutting decision was made by the duty editor, who’s name will be revealed in the Florida trial, Trump versus the BBC.
The U.S. Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor (DRL) report that the BBC’s use of artificial intelligence enters the ethical category of synthetic media manipulation, which must be disclosed to viewers under Ofcom and BBC editorial guidelines. The BBC’s Editorial Guidelines (Section 6 & 18) require clear labelling of any “digitally altered or reconstructed material that may mislead audiences.”
But the most damming fact that will destroy the BBC in court, is that fact that the BBC’s malicious edit was used as evidence in US courts against January 6 protesters.
Trumps lawyers have discovered other incidents involving MI6 links with BBC News regarding its censorship of live coverage of Donald Trumps speech during an address to a joint session of the U.S. Congress at the Capitol on March 5, 2025. The BBC News team censored Trump saying “ready for peace. wouldn’t that be beautiful, wouldn’t that be beautiful”.
Although the BBC Director-General Tim Davie and CEO of news Deborah Turness have both resigned. BBC editorial staff linked to MI6 and the malicious edit, are not thought to have been sacked.
Judge Roy Altman of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, is considering an amended complaint from the president that would narrow his claim from harms to his businesses to reputational damage, by the BBC’s co-ordinated lies.
