This should give you all a chuckle! “BBC foreign correspondents warn cuts compromise impartiality. Locally recruited reporters will be vulnerable to bullying Middle East governments, say senior journalists” Hap tip to Ryan! Click through to read and contribute comments on this post.
Half the story, all the time. B-BBC contributor Alan writes;“The Unions, the IFS and the BBC have come together to put the boot into the government cuts. The BBC has been giving much air time to Union complaints over the last few days…all of which seem to be part of a concerted plan. First there was the Border Guards who claim that government concentration on immigration meant more drugs and guns … Continue reading
An outraged B-BBC reader brought this to my attention. It’s on the BBC Children’s TV site and it seems to take quite a positive spin on young girls pandering to the sexual needs of dirty old men. What say you? This could be seen as a virtual advertisement for a very murky activity. Surely someone in the BBC should have raised a concern over such encouragement to licentiousness? Then again…. … Continue reading
At last, a slideshow of my photos from Zuccotti Park. I went down there on Sunday, and spent a couple hours among the Occupiers. I spoke to a lot of people, asking questions, debating a bit, and trying to figure out where they were at with all of this. And oh, my, did I learn a lot. This post is just photos with my comments, based on my conversations with … Continue reading
Lots of flooding over here in Northern Ireland. Here’s the BBC report and I will highlight the last few sentences for your edification; Weather and climate expert Philip Eden said the current weather systems bringing the rain were taking longer to move on. “Does this have anything to do with climate change? The lack of ice in the Arctic at the end of the summer may have contributed to the … Continue reading
The BBC has been very happy to promote the comments of William Hague as being those of a “leading Eurosceptic”. Why? What has he ever achieved to merit such a reputation? He is quite clearly part of the Cameron rolling roadshow which pretends it is Eurosceptic but insists that the time for expressing such is never “quite right”. The BBC had Bernard Jenkin on here this morning and very eloquent … Continue reading
Just another manic Monday. Tell us how the BBC are doing here please! Click through to read and contribute comments on this post.
Had to laugh at the punchline from this! “BBC’s coverage of the OWS protests is now 24 hour….and very friendly and amenable it all sounds: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/b01609dk ‘Up All Night went to St Paul’s Cathedral in London meets the anti-capitalists protestors. ‘ The BBC happy to provide a platform for the protestors to have a free, unopposed rant….though they will only ‘resist peaceably’….passive resistance like Ghandi or Martin Luther King according … Continue reading
It’s all in the angle taken. Biased BBC contributor Alan observes:“When Gaddafi’s convoy was hit by NATO aircraft all news reports took similar line…..it was a military convoy trying to escape the NTC troops…even the BBC reported this:http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/mobile/world-africa-15387872’13:55 Nato aircraft on Thursday morning struck two pro-Gaddafi military vehicles in the vicinity of Sirte, a spokesman said. “At approximately 08:30 local time (GMT+2) today, Nato aircraft struck two pro-Gaddafi forces military … Continue reading
