Gavin Esler’s Dateline continues to regularly serve up panels where all four guests come from the Left. Today’s cast list was: – Abdel Bari Atwan, ‘al-Quds al-Arabi’ (the programme’s most regular guest)– Agnes Poirier, of the left-wing french magazine ‘Marianne’ (and a very regular columnist for the ‘Guardian’, which Esler opted not to mention)– Yasmin Alibhai Brown, the ‘Independent’– Dr Vincent Magombe, Africa Inform International As a result, viewers got … Continue reading
Yes, I know, Katty was talking about the Occupiers in New York, but her report was meant to give you the idea that they’re all mostly nice, civic-minded, and righteous. Mark Mardell is still convinced that the Tea Party movement is driven by crypto-racism. So by his logic, we can use the following to state unequivocally that the Occupier movement is driven by anti-Semitism. Check it out, and wake me … Continue reading
I note that a court in Tajikistan has convicted a local BBC reporter of spreading banned Islamic propaganda despite international pressure to acquit him. Tajikistan has been clamping down on the press this year as it tries to defeat a growing Islamic insurgency which has threatened to destabilise the former Soviet state. Naturally, the BBC doth protest his innocence. Click through to read and contribute comments on this post.
Many of us watched the Question Time Special immediately following the 9/11 atrocity in utter disbelief as it took a rabid and disgusting anti-American line. The former US ambassador to Britain, Philip Lader, was almost reduced to tears on the panel as the audience shouted him down and hurled abuse. It was a shameful night for the BBC and prompted thousands of complaints. The BBC underplayed the aftermath here. Recordings … Continue reading
Mark Mardell has awoken. I assume he has been slumbering in recent days such has been his apparent lack of interest in the OccupyWallStreet movement. Initially, I thought that perhaps even HE would be embarrassed by the disgusting antics of this motley crew. I mean, defecating on a Police car or spitting on a Marine are things that surely any civilised person would be ashamed of and yet it’s right … Continue reading
I know others have mentioned the BBC’s biased coverage of the Occupiers, but I think it’s important to look at them all together, so we can see the big picture, the larger context of the BBC’s reporting. We’ve all seen by now how the BBC loves the “Occupy Wall Street” protest, as well as the copy-cat protests in other cities. Any negative aspects played down, the protesters’ mixed messages spun … Continue reading
Question Time tonight comes from London and features a panel so dreadful it will make your eyes bleed. On the panel we have Andrew Lansley, Red Ken Livingstone, former chief press spokesman for the Liberals Mark Littlewood, NHS-focussed ‘comedian’ Phil Hammond and deputy editor of the Evening Standard Sarah Sands. TheEye is away again tonight, so leaves you in the hands of the Two Davids…Vance and Mosque in the moderator … Continue reading
Via Bishop Hill “Remember Paul Hudson, the rogue weather man at the BBC who doesn’t do ‘consensus’ and who upset the’gang’ when he noted that there had been no warming since 1998… from hacked CRU email: ‘Michael Mann wrote in answer: “extremely disappointing to see something like this appear on BBC. itsparticularly odd, since climate is usually Richard Black’s beat at BBC (and he does a great job).from What I can tell, … Continue reading
Biased BBC reader Clifford provides his first contribution… “The news reports onRadio 4 (the only BBC source I’ve used about this) since yesterday (11 October2011) evening have carried the story of the deal to release Gilad Shalit, anIsraeli soldier, in exchange for Palestinian prisoners in Israel. All the reportsI have heard have used the word ‘captured’ to describe how Shalit came to beheld in Gaza by a Palestinian militant group, … Continue reading
