COPENHAGEN OR BUST

Nick Griffin reverberations continue loudly, but meanwhile our friends at the BBC are pushing as hard as ever this weekend in their climate change nonsense. The corporation desperately wants agreement in Copenhagen, and is leaping at every opportunity to support moves which will have only one real effect: to condemn millions in Britain and throughout the world to fuel poverty.

Posted this morning was a story which, as usual, has related pictures of melting ice and a forlorn polar bear. It suggests that a sub-group of countries and legislators are working behind the scenes to ensure that agreement is reached to cut emissions come what may. As is wearily predictable in BBC “reporting” of such issues, the anonymous writer of the story accepts without question that cuts are needed; and he or she fails to report that thousands of scientists do not accept at all that global warming is even happening, let alone that measures are necessary to combat it.

What’s truly chilling about the report is that, according to the reporter, it seems that this shadowy sub-group possesses the power to implement its recommendations irrespective of the outcome of Copenhagen.

Meanwhile in the real world, Anthony Watts continues to report what is happening with the climate: temperatures in the US this fall are continuing to set record lows; and as this year’s hurricane season comes to an end, the tally for the storms that Al Gore so confidently and loudly predicted would escalate in numbers is this year? – er, none.

Reporting of any of this on the BBC? No.

One in Five?

Are one in five really considering voting for the BNP?
If so, and Nick’s appearance on QT was the catalyst, some thoughts belatedly occurred to me.

It’s generally accepted that QT exposed him as a holocaust denier and racist. Yet despite that, and despite the fact that being a racist is perceived as the ultimate wickedness, one in five have somehow managed to push Nick’s racism to the back of their minds. Or should that be the backs of their mind.

The thing QT exposed was the very thing the BNP has been trying to hide. But imagine if Mr. Griffin really wasn’t a racist, what if he opposed mass Muslim immigration because he genuinely loved Britain’s values?
Or, what if someone else who wasn’t Nick Griffin and who wasn’t a racist, did so; say a politician from one of the mainstream parties? Dream on.

If the BBC thinks that simply revealing the BNP’s racism is enough to discredit it, what about the type of racism that the BBC itself tacitly peddles. Can we have that revealed in a custom made question Time? Can we have a panel of multi-party pro-Zionists versus Helen Boaden?
Someone needs to ask why Islington antisemitism is alright, but confronting genuine concerns about Islamism is all wrong.

We see how the BBC portrays the Jewish state, and we observe that the mud they’ve slung has stuck to diaspora Jews. We haven’t yet reached the stage where it’s okay to openly espouse antisemitism, but anti Zionism does have a full seal of approval even when it’s demonstrably a mere cloak.
Not even Jack Straw’s unnecessary “As-s-Jew” outburst was enough to deter potential BNP voters from assuming that it’s permissible to turn a blind eye to a a bit of harmless holocaust denial.

I don’t know whether my grandparents came to the UK from eastern Europe intentionally, or whether they ended up here by accident, as many did. But they assimilated, and their descendants are respectable members of British society. They made no demands and adapted.
There is a world of difference between racism and objection to Islamification of Europe. But neither our government nor the BBC will admit that.
If there is a genuinely benign interpretation of Islam that accepts and respects others, no problemo. Muslims that follow that variation on a theme should be welcome to live wherever they’re prepared to assimilate. Reiterating that Islam is the religion of peace is not enough, nor is trying to normalise cultural practices that are antithetical to ours.

What angers the potential BNP voters is that their understandable objections to demands for Sharia law, 12,000 seater mosques, belligerent burka wearing, refusal to integrate, Asian-on-white racism and demonstrations against British soldiers are branded Islamophobic, and considered beyond the pale, too taboo to discuss.
So the BBC is the flagship of hypocrisy on that score, and has played a considerable part in creating this ‘one in five’ sorry state of affairs.

The Day After the Night Before

The aftermath of Question Time on the interweb is riveting, unlike the show itself.
The hooha does reveal the extent of everyone’s awareness of the BBC’s agenda.
The BBC reduces it all to : Griffin Attacks Islam on BBC Show!

Nick Griffin said he thought the sight of two men kissing on telly was creepy. The BBC spun that into “Nick Griffin says gays are creepy.” The villain.

As the unremitting attack ground ever onwards, Griffin’s physical decline grew increasingly more alarming. It began with a nervous lip-licking twitch, rapidly accelerating to sweaty brow and trembling hand. Sympathy was the only option.

The holocaust denial evasion moment ensured no-one could seriously believe he wasn’t racist, but the media has succeeded in convincing everyone that fear of the Islamisation of Britain is the same thing as antisemitism, and that Muslims are the new Jews. This ensured no-one could get to grips with the real matter at hand, the attraction the BNP undeniably has for people who see no other way to express their feeling of helplessness at the immigration of so many, dare I say it, Muslims.

Griffin’s so called indigenous population is no longer the 1950s Britain where white men wore tweed jackets and smoked a pipe and women with perms enjoyed labour-saving kitchen appliances. Those days are never coming back. Now, whitey has turned into a chocolate- box assortment of tattooed shaven-headed obese working class blokes, binge-drinking female ladettes, Richard Ingrams-style racists, or liberal lefty, lesbian’n’gays who are so bound and gagged by P.C. that all they dare do is bleat in unison. Excuse me if I’ve forgotten anyone.

Somehow, the other panellists, the audience, the transparency of the BNP’s half-baked re-invention and the customised-for-Griffin format of the programme managed to make Nick Griffin himself seem almost an irrelevance compared to the elephant in the room.

Diverse Britain okay: Islamisation, no way.
Put that in your loudhailer and hail it.

Today’s Forecast Wrong Again

Today programme news bulletins this morning:

6am – “Figures to be released this morning could show that the UK economy grew slightly in the third quarter of this year. If confirmed it would be the first quarterly growth since early 2008 and would mean that the recession is technically over.”

7am and 8am – “Many analysts expect figures out today will show that the British economy has started growing again…”

8.30am – “The latest figures for gross domestic product due to be published in the next hour are expected to show the economy grew between July and September…”

10am – BBC News website:

The UK economy unexpectedly contracted by 0.4% between July and September, according to official figures, meaning the country is still in recession.

It is the first time UK gross domestic product (GDP) has contracted for six consecutive quarters, since quarterly figures were first recorded in 1955.

Another F-Bombgate Update

It’s getting a bit ridiculous now:

The special BBC unit investigating the 5 Live sabotaging of a pre-recorded sports item with obscene material have finally interviewed alleged prime suspect Ben Jacobs three weeks after the incident.
Yet it’s understood that Jacobs, who denies involvement, was only asked general questions such as how long he’s worked for the Beeb.
These could easily been researched during the 25 days in which this BBC probe — paid for by licence fee money — has got precisely nowhere.

BBC "Tramples political impartiality into the dirt"

As the dust settles over the Question Time BNP appearance, one thing is certain – the programme’s editors broadcast an atypical programme that was designed to attack Nick Griffin rather than explore (as it usually does) the issues of the day. I used to publicise the programme for the BBC. The then editors would never have permitted such a change in format, which they would have seen as a compromise of their independence and integrity. Meanwhile, the Daily Mail has an editorial which says it all about today’s BBC. Read and enjoy:

Talk about bare-faced hypocrisy.

Amidst the furore over the BBC’s decision to invite Nick Griffin on to Question Time, its director general, Mark Thompson, claims that he had no choice because of the Corporation’s ‘central principle of political impartiality’.

What a pity that the BBC for years has comprehensively trampled this so-called ‘central principle’ into the dirt.

This is an organisation that’s utterly in thrall to the left-wing agenda of the majority of its staff.

Until very recently, the BBC systematically censored any debate about immigration into Britain, a nation which, as was revealed yesterday, is on its way to a population of 70million.

It also treats global warming with the fervour of a religion, and is so pro-Brussels that even a report commissioned by the BBC itself found that it was hopelessly biased against the Eurosceptic position.

It’s an institution that by its very nature promotes alternative lifestyles and minority groups at the expense of traditional values, and it doesn’t have much time for Christianity, capitalism, or the countryside either.

Whatever the rights and wrongs of letting Mr Griffin onto Question Time, the BBC can’t pretend that some sacred principle of political impartiality had anything to do with it.

QUESTION TIME LIVEBLOG ADVANCE NOTICE!

Hi all! Sorry blogging has been light for the past few days but I am busy getting organised for my holiday to the USA. A big thank you to all my colleagues here who are more than adequately covering for me.

This is just a quick heads-up that we WILL be covering THE “Question Time” debate tomorrow night. Hope you can make it. Please come early as we can only allow the first 25 guests to comment without moderation. I’m hoping this will be a record show for us. It will also be my last contribution on the site until November 4th.
As it happens, I will also BE on the BBC tomorrow discussing the BNP on QT along with the Jan Muir/Gately issue. I will be debating this Roy Greenslade on “Hearts and Minds” and it will be broadcast on BBC2 NI @ 7.30pm and then BBC1 NI @ 11.35pm. As ever, I am there to be the voice of moderation and reason. 😉

BBC AGITPROP THAT WILL KILL MILLIONS

One of the BBC’s favourite goals is promoting the views of lefty organisations that operate in the developing world – the charidees favoured by the likes of Bono, and NGOs supported with unilateral fervour by DFID . Most of them are on the global warming bandwagon, so for the boys and girls in the BBC newsroom, finding an excuse to publicise them and their anti-capitalist, anti-industry views is not difficult. Today’s peg is a report from the Royal Society which (not unreasonably for once) wants to improve crop production so that the world can feed more people. Among its highly sensible recommendations are a gradual shift to genetically modified plants, which have much bigger yields.

This, of course, a cue for the BBC to talk to every organisation under the sun which wants to ban such production, as well as to show a picture of Paul McCartney, a rather good singer who, for some reason best known to himself, has appointed himself a scientific expert and thinks he knows that GM foods are dangerous and harmful. This BBC kow-towing to the views of destructive left-wing groups is dangerously Luddite and will condemn millions of unborn children to starvation and premature death.
