Our BBC reports, in rather matter of fact mode: Luton Airport flights suspended after large car park fire

I’m put in mind of that vintage TV advert for Campari. While quaffing their glasses of the orange-coloured liqueur with lemonade, he muses aloud to Loraine Chase: “We’re you truly wafted here from paradise?” and she replies: “Nah, Luton airport!”

Up to 1,200 vehicles may have been in the car park and subsequently damaged, the fire service said. (BBC)

Given that: UK unready as wildfires surge, warns firefighters’ union… The UK is “woefully underprepared” to tackle wildfires as climate change makes them more likely, a new report by the Fire Brigades Union warns. (BBC) – one wonders how prepared the fire boys and girls are for: Electric vehicle fires: The little-known but terrifying reality about EV batteries – after one from an MG caused a blaze that destroyed five cars and a Tesla burst into flames… Fires sparked from lithium-ion batteries found in popular items like e-bikes, e-scooters and electric vehicles are on the rise – with two cars bursting into flames on the same day this week. (Daily Mail, 16 September)

We await with bated breath the public announcement as to the results of the forensic investigation into the cause of the Luton airport car park fire – or not, as the case may be?

There was of course a fitting irony when the characterless stuffed-shirt wooden non-sparkling personality that is Keir Starmer had this done to him: Activist Yaz Ashmawi storms the stage and throws glitter over Sir Keir… (Telegraph)

Friends in the media, such as the Labour-supporting Mirror have confronted the embarrasing satirical protest head on: Labour leader defies glitter-throwing protestor to sparkle with rallying call

The Guardian’s Pippa Crerar, political editor – despite, reading between the lines, her hankering after a tad more pizzazz from her hero – reflecting on: …a largely uneventful conference in Liverpool – still yet promotes her man frontpage with the standard political couple photo op: Keir Starmer is joined on stage in Liverpool by his wife Victoria – all one recalls reported about this marriage of late was their incessant mutual covid testing. They used to say once a king always a king – but once a knight clearly wasn’t enough for Sir Keir

This reminder comes on a day when the inveterately coronaphobic ‘i’ newspaper smugly reports: Millions of Covid jabs stockpiled for over-50s ‘surge campaign’ to protect NHS – there’s clearly no flinching from any tired old sloganised cliché over there at the left-leaning ‘i’

One fears of course the Chekov’s Gun rule in drama – if millions of jabs are there in act one scene one – there’s sure to be an epidemic by the close of the third act

What’s this, could it be a replay of a clip from the Rutles, that docu spoof movie on the real life Beatles? That bit about their descent into litigatory madness as performed by Michael Palin as their lawyer: ‘Suddenly, everyone became amazingly litigious… ‘ or was it – as in my fevered imagination – our very own lawyer Keir Starmer: “Suddenly, everyone became amazingly coronaphobic, I’d get up in the morning, covid test the kids, check in the papers I hadn’t been fired, go to the office, covid test someone, pick up the moring’s covid test results, covid test the bank, go out for lunch, covid test the restaurant, get back in, collect the covid tests that had been received that afternoon, read the papers, phone the papers, covid test the papers, and go home and covid test the wife”

Keir Starmer only able to access coronavirus test because wife works in NHS… Labour leader tells TUC government failings on Covid are ‘holding Britain back’ (Independent, September 2020)

Keir Starmer misses PMQs and budget after positive Covid test (Guardian, October 2021)

Ending free Covid testing would be a mistake, Sir Keir Starmer says (Independent, February 2022)

Keir Starmer: Labour leader tests positive for Covid and will miss PMQs… Labour leader tests positive for second time and goes into self-isolation for the sixth time (Independent, January 2022)

This is a very dangerous moment

Israel would, in the opinion of Generalissimo Tomo be better to gnawing off bite sized pieces of Gaza in a proper siege while maintaining extremely prominent humanitarian corridors with Halal KFC outlets offering unlimited nosh and fizzy drinks at key points.

The review of Hamas’s tactics link hints that there’s very likely (almost certainly) a tiered array ofcarefully laid trap for conventional forces.

upon being asked they finally admitted no chicken yet

yep, thats KFC with no chicken available, what the C stands for is a moot point
( I had a C word in mind but there were children around)

30 minutes after the order some chicken appeared, I did make some comment about “fast food” and “bollocks”

In my opinion, Israel providing that outlet for hungry people could possibly be considered a war crime if they had the Baldock services staff involved.

      Thx Tomo

The problem that Simpson hits straight away is that is that the BBC does show what it approves and not – it uses terms like ‘Far Right’ or ‘populist ‘all the time to label people and groups it doesn’t like . It’s why this website is so busy and full of examples .

As for the Islamic Hamas terrorist group – if the UK designates it as a terrorist group – it is what it is – and the BBC needs to be brave enough to say so – whatever the consequences ….

I mean – it is clear that the strategy HAMAS has adopted is to slaughter using the most horrific and terrifying means as a policy ….
I wonder whether this will land up with a wider war – with Iran at the top of the target list ….

We learn today of a brave woman at an Israeli Kibbutz who motivated others to take up arms and fight back, killing 25 Muslims and ultimately saving everyones lives.

Contrast that with the silly liberals dancing and partying at the ‘peace’ rally many of whom had refused to do national service, and as a consequence all lost their lives.

Socialism kills people and although it might be indirectly, it killed these people by telling them not to fight back.

There was an interesting debate during the mid morning show on GB News, a couple of days ago. Of course, they were discussing the horror of what happened in Israel over the weekend…

Rather predictably the talking head told us how relieved he was that Donald Trump was no longer in the Whitehouse. “I dread to think what might have happened.” he mused.

Bev Turner, to her credit, pointed out to him that when Trump was in the Whitehouse nothing actually had happened.

Despite all the hysterical left-wing rhetoric, there had been very little in the way of wars. There was no invasion of Ukraine, no inept retreat from Afghanistan, no mass murder in Israel. All this had occurred under Joe Biden.

    He didn’t say much…

    Harakat al-Muqawamah al-Islamiyyah (Hamas) – Proscription extended November 2021
Hamas is a militant Islamist movement that was established in 1987, following the first Palestinian intifada. Its ideology is related to that of the Muslim Brotherhood combined with Palestinian nationalism. Its main aims are to liberate Palestine from Israeli occupation, the establishment of an Islamic state under Sharia law and the destruction of Israel (although Hamas no longer demands the destruction of Israel in its Covenant). The group operates in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Hamas formally established Hamas IDQ in 1992. Hamas IDQ was proscribed by the UK in March 2001. At the time it was HM government’s assessment that there was a sufficient distinction between the so called political and military wings of Hamas, such that they should be treated as different organisations, and that only the military wing was concerned in terrorism. The government now assess that the approach of distinguishing between the various parts of Hamas is artificial. Hamas is a complex but single terrorist organisation.

Hamas commits and participates in terrorism. Hamas has used indiscriminate rocket or mortar attacks, and raids against Israeli targets. During the May 2021 conflict, over 4,000 rockets were fired indiscriminately into Israel. Civilians, including 2 Israeli children, were killed as a result. Palestinian militant groups, including Hamas, frequently use incendiary balloons to launch attacks from Gaza into southern Israel. There was a spate of incendiary balloon attacks from Gaza during June and July 2021, causing fires in communities in southern Israel that resulted in serious damage to property.

Hamas also prepares for acts of terrorism. One incident of preparatory activity is that Hamas recently launched summer camps in Gaza which focus on training groups, including minors, to fight. This is evidence of Hamas being responsible for running terrorist training camps in the region. In a press statement, Hamas described the aim of these camps as to “ignite the embers of Jihad in the liberation generation, cultivate Islamic values and prepare the expected victory army to liberate Palestine”.

If you think freedom of speech has gone down the tubes, you haven’t seen the half of it yet. September 19, 2023, the U.K. passed a new law to “regulate” (read, censor) online content. The so-called Online Safety Bill has been described as “one of the most far-reaching attempts by Western democracy to regulate online speech.”1

Interestingly, the bill has been in the works for the last five years,2 again proving that online censorship is not something that sprang up in response to COVID. Governments have been steadily moving in this direction for a long time.

As reported by The New York Times,3 the bill forces online platforms to “proactively screen for objectionable material and to judge whether it is illegal, rather than requiring them to act only after being alerted to illicit content.”

Changing the subject from the sheer awfulness of Israel, we hear of a fire at a car park at Luton airport which closed the terminal and caused a partial collapse of the building, and 1200 cars being destroyed or damaged.

What you won’t be being told is that the cause of this is an EV car – yet again. What you will be likely told is that this is a ‘rumour’ and that EV cars are several times less likely to catch fire than internal combustion cars. What they won’t say is that when they do catch fire it is almost impossible to extinguish the fire and that it will spread very quickly to other vehicles.

I don’t know what happened to the cargo ship destroyed in the North Sea because the media has chosen not to report it, but despite the many rumours that this was caused by an EV there are the eco loons still claiming that it wasn’t.

These two fires alone have probably caused more pollution and emissions than ordinary cars in the UK emit in over a year, not that the Eco Scam artists are going to admit that of course.

The BBC have been blasted for failing to label Hamas as terrorists. Despite it being a legally proscribed terrorist organisation in the UK, the US and other countries, the BBC’s style-guide for Palestinian and Israeli conflict states that “terrorism is a difficult and emotive subject… we should not use the term ‘terrorist’ without attribution.” This hasn’t stopped the Beeb using the “T” word in other cases at home…

Senior MPs have hit out against the BBC, with Grant Shapps saying on LBC, “It’s verging on disgraceful…I think that it’s time to get the moral compass out at the BBC”. James Cleverly confronted the BBC on their own Breakfast Show, “I just want to make sure that you recognise that in your reporting, they are not militants, they are terrorists.” Awkward.

Keir Starmer joined the campaign this morning, telling Times Radio, “I think the BBC needs to explain why it isn’t. I said ‘terrorism’ and ‘terrorist’, and to me that’s obviously what we are witnessing.” Guido hopes the Beeb is listening.

I have to say I think Netenyahu is about to make a major error in flattening Gaza.

What happened was appalling, but he bears some responsibility for failing to defend Israel from it.

Now he is playing to understandable anger and desire for revenge, but the images of what happens in Gaza will go around the world and they will be used time and time again by a media which wants to see Israel destroyed.

Innocent people in Gaza are going to be killed and maimed some will be terrorists, others will be supporters of terrorism, but the same roiling anger that the Israeli’s feel will be felt by the Arabs and they have a lot of money and resources, withdrawal of which could hurt the West even more than it did during the oil crisis of the 1970s.

It would be far better to excercise restraint, and to stop engaging with the corrupt Democrat administration in America, if that had been the case this would probably have been foreseen.

Get Mossad and special forces out of Ukraine where they should never have been and stop sending ammunition there as well.

Not BBC but a Guardian nonsense headline — “Type of storm that drenched New York is up to 20% wetter due to climate crisis”.

We know this is happening because scientists have a new study showing rain is wetter now than it was last century. They quote one researcher saying that “while natural variability can deliver major storms, ‘human-driven climate change is the primary driver, underscoring the urgent need for climate mitigation and adaptation efforts’”.

Have a look at the study design though and you discover they looked at just 8 climate events. In the authors’ own words:

“The main limitations of our framework include the somewhat arbitrary choice of the region used to define the analogues, the timescale for the selection of the analogues and the number of analogues retained for analysis. Moreover, only for two of the events […] is it possible to statistically exclude a role of natural inter-decadal variability…”

Ok it’s the Guardian, but science journalism generally has become so degraded we are truly living in another dark age.

Even the vile BBC have had to tone down their usual anti-Israeli bias, temporarily.

However, watch the narrative change in the coming days and weeks as the IDF take robust action against Hamas, who will post photos and footage (real or staged) of civilian deaths and injuries.

Already, weasel words are creeping in to the BBC ‘explanatory’ pieces such as this:

“Why did Hamas launch its latest attack?

    – This year has been the deadliest on record for Palestinians in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, which could have motivated Hamas to strike Israel with a spectacular attack.”

See? Some Palestinians died this year, so it was kind of retaliation, or self defence, and the Israelis sort of had it coming…

    Unlawful Airstrikes

Human Rights Watch has documented at least 90 apparently unlawful Saudi-led coalition airstrikes, including deadly attacks on Yemeni fishing boats that have killed dozens and appeared to be deliberate attacks on civilians and civilian objects in violation of the laws of war. At time of writing, according to the Yemen Data Project, the Saudi-led coalition has conducted more than 20,100 airstrikes on Yemen since the war began, an average of 12 attacks a day. The coalition has bombed hospitals, school buses, markets, mosques, farms, bridges, factories, and detention centers.

n August 2019, the Saudi-led coalition carried out multiple airstrikes on a Houthi detention center, killing and wounding at least 200 people. The attack was the single deadliest attack since the war began in 2015. Human Rights Watch has documented at least five deadly attacks by Saudi-led coalition naval forces on Yemeni fishing boats since 2018, killing at least 47 Yemeni fishermen, including seven children.

    Indiscriminate Artillery Attacks

Houthi forces have repeatedly fired artillery indiscriminately into Yemeni cities such as Taizz and Hodeida, as well as launched indiscriminate ballistic missiles into Saudi Arabia, including Riyadh’s international airport. Some of these attacks may amount to war crimes.

    Children and Armed Conflict

Since September 2014, all parties to the conflict have used child soldiers under 18, including some under the age of 15, according to a 2019 UN Group of Eminent International and Regional Experts on Yemen report in 2019. According to the secretary general, out of 3,034 children recruited throughout the war in Yemen, 1,940—64 percent—were recruited by the Houthis.

In July, the UN secretary-general released his annual “list of shame” for violations against children in armed conflict during 2018. The list detailed that 729 children were killed or injured by Saudi-led coalition, 398 children were killed or injured by the Houthis, and the Yemeni government’s forces were responsible for 58 child casualties.

Although the secretary-general listed the Saudi Arabia-led coalition in Yemen, he once again included the coalition in a category of parties taking steps to improve, despite overwhelming evidence that coalition forces killed and harmed children on a large scale in 2018.

A DEGREE OF INFLUENCE: The funding of strategically important subjects in UK universities
“What is noticeable from the research undertaken in this report is the disparity
in the levels of funding from the countries studied. There are huge amounts
of cash currently being donated by Arab and Islamic sources (University of Cambridge / £1.2m / UAE / Appointment of a full-time lecturer specialising in Islam / 1996), and this has undoubtedly
led to a degree of influence in the oversight of UK universities. China,
however, while donating only a relatively small amount of cash, has managed
to gain a disproportionate amount of influence in UK higher education via its
Confucius Institutes. What is also clear is that, in terms of money donated, the
likes of Japan and Russia do not appear to have the desire to influence higher
education in the same way as China or certain countries in the Muslim world.”

Using an uncanny degree of perception, ‘authorities’ at Luton airport have revealed that the fire which has destroyed upwards of 1200 cars and the multi-storey park which housed them was due to the explosion of a diesel car.

The day terror came to Glasgow Airport
          Published
          30 June 2017

Ten years ago, a terror attack aiming to kill hundreds of innocent holidaymakers failed because of a concrete door post and the actions of ordinary people who were at Glasgow Airport that day.

In recent months the UK has seen a number of attacks in which vehicles have been used in an attempt to kill large numbers of people – but a decade ago the attack was unlike any other.

It was also the first time Scotland had been targeted for a terrorist attack.

Inside the vehicle were Iraqi doctor Bilal Abdulla, 27, and 28-year-old engineer Kafeel Ahmed, who was born in India and grew up in Saudi Arabia.

Alex McIlveen told a BBC documentary in 2008: “I was pure daft because I gave him a kick in the crotch.

“He didnae flinch. He didnae move nor nothing. I gave him a good kick as well.”
