It seems to me that Labour have lost (democratically@40%) but act as though they have won and the Conservatives have won (democratically@42.4%) but are waiting to lose, rather than take power and getting on with it.
So I suggest rather than this continuing this tiring political, we take this problem further a field. Venezuela is praised by some Labour Members as a socialist dream, along with Cuba, South Africa and China. So we do a ‘wealth transfer’ of people.
All members of Labour Party with families (483,000 Labour Members March2017) can transfer to one of the countries that signs up for this great experiment. In response, people from the socialist countries who no longer want the socialist dream, because they are living it, can come to the UK – trying to keep it one for one as close as possible – same skill would be great but this won’t be completely possible.
We run this for 10 years and see where we get to. Socialist get to build their socialist dream in a socialist country, possibly with sunnier weather. The people who have had enough of the socialist dream can come to the UK to work hard and improve the UK.

The unwritten ‘assumption’ is that all of these civilians are innocent people caught up in the fight. I will bet my hat that the vast majority were celebrating when they heard about the slaughter.
It’s quite clear who the BBC support now : they are concentrating on the ‘innocent civilians’ and omitting the ‘Hamas terrorists’ part of the picture. But that’s just one of their tricks : they focus on empathy when talking about the real world is inconvenient for the agenda.
But what I do notice about this is that the rest of the world are quietly bringing in military support for Israel. I say ‘quietly’ because it demonstrates full support for them and the BBC don’t want to tell us that. They are doing their usual gently-gently nudge-nudge tricks to make people think Israel are the bad guys in this.
IMHO anyone who support Hamas supports ISIS. They are two sides of the same coin. Always have been – but it took this event for the likes of the BBC to no longer be able to cover it up. I wonder just how many reporters they have in Gaza (compared to other regions) just waiting for a chance like this to put out their anti-semetic propaganda.
We are learning a lot about the BBC from this now their hand is being forced. Hopefully it will be their undoing.

I was half asleep – but I’m sure I heard that the price of gas has more than doubled since the summer – it as 50 something per whatever in the summer and is now 1.35 something –
We apparently haven’t been building up gas reserves as quickly as we wouid have been – but it’s blue labour so no surprise – but the implication is that prices will be going up ( in January ?) if the price stays high – which it will .
Apparently it’s a combination of the sabotaged gas pipe in the Baltic ( anyone notice or care ?) – the Middle East – Australian strikes ….

There are so many charts for natural gas it’s not easy to know which you are referring to, however I think I now have the right one although figures are wrong.
Like so many ‘reports’ it is misleading unless viewed in context, the high was 150Euro in December then it fell to 25E in June and today it’s around about 55.5E
The answer is yes it has doubled, but it’s still a third of what it was at the peak at the end of last year.

Uber nerd Dr Sheldon Cooper, the stand out character from the tv comedy The Big Bang Theory, liked to present, to anyone hapless enough to have to listen, with his Fun With Flags presentation.

Of course the joke is that vexillology, the study of flags, is boring, nerdish and an irrelevant pursuit for a youthful modern sophisticated liberal-minded internationalist audience.
Gosh, there’s something almost quasi-fascist about people who enjoy banging on about such an out moded interest as national flags. Aren’t we all now united under the rainbow flag and we’ve almost done with national flags in our open boarder brave new world? Apart from when some supranational organisation like the UN or EU lines them all up together in a united row outside their big concrete and glass HQs.
But then of course there was the old blue and yellow that came along to fly from your trendy cafe or urban balcony: United with the people of Ukraine – as the Rishi lacky loyalist Daily Express liked to proclaim from their masthead – with only occasional respites on high days and holidays – up until this week that is – since when the motto seems to have gone missing in action.
Our BBC under their prominent online news tab War in Ukraine – second only to Cost of Living – has some fun with flags in their balanced way branding the in-house pod: Ukrainecast show with an amalgam logo of arrowhead form blue and yellow for Ukraine and white blue and red for Russia – putting Mr AsI very much in mind of something akin to the iconic opening credit sequence for Dad’s Army in which relentless swastika triangles chased our retreating union jack triangles across our tv screens and out of Europe, via Dunkirk, leaving one lonely little red white and blue triangle to shuffle up and down the south coast.
But deary me, what’s this?
The conflict. Israel-Gaza – a 22-minute BBC online show branded with the familiar triangles setup ident borrowed and based on the Ukrainecast but no colouration? Sepia brown triangles. No Star of David opposing Palestinian red white green and black?
As a quick aside Mr AsI’s fun with flags – were that a thing – would warn his audience to beware any nation with black in its flag. Just as a rough rule of thumb.
So our BBC, happy enough to display the Russian tricolour and the Ukraine bicolour, whimps out from combining the jewish symbol with the arab banner. Hmmmm

In a similar vein of thought Mr AsI has witnessed online footage of the moments before the attack at the festival. Footage showing the unfortunate young female German ‘tattoo artist’ dressed in would-be tribal costume, all tribalistic beads, piercings and tats adorned, dancing with girlfriends, to the primative drum beat music – all very celebratory of our third world cultures. Then suddenly the anti-colonial anti-western cuture third world arrived. But they were in no mood to join the party.

So now I’m spending my time looking for the word ‘racist’ in any of the reports about the attacks on Jews by the same people. Because they are 100% racist. And amazingly enough, I can’t find that word either.

The BT emails reminded us that an order can be cancelled in the first 14 days, so in the morning I phoned up to cancel the entire package and told them to revert to the old system. No problem, they said, it will be done. Four days later the house phone went dead.
I suspect the reason BT is conning people to convert to phones that plug into the internet routers is so they no longer have to provide power down plain old telephone lines especially during power cuts. This means they no longer have to have banks of storage batteries in the local telephone exchanges.
That means they can sell off the buildings and land and fire the staff. Kerching, kerching.
One elderly neighbour often loses her phone line when her power goes out – much to her and her families frustration. My quick solution is to go round and plug in a plain old telephone just until she gets her electric woes sorted out. All her contact numbers are stored on the dead DECT phone so even then you can not phone her friends. She has a mobile phone but does not know how to use it.
Despite having basic digital knowledge, my numerous friends and myself still use our landlines to call. I’ve had a number of ‘fun’ telephones over the years which will no be rendered useless after the changeover. My current model is pink with a working dial.
Strangely no one has a problem with hearing whilst my mobile callers say “sorry you’re breaking up !”

There was a negative response to the book in many Muslim communities, and Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Khomeini, issued a fatwa, a ruling on Islamic law, for Muslims to execute Rushdie over the novel’s publication.
The main criticism levelled against Rushdie was that he was blaspheming against Islam, a point that he disputes in the recording.
