MARDELL UPDATE

Those wicked Tea Party folks. Thank goodness for Mark Mardell’s exposure of their fiscal simple-mindedness here. You see they seem to believe that Government should not spend what it does not have and were THAT not bad enough they seem to hold the outrageous view that political representatives should stick to what they promise. Helpfully, urbane Mark is able to excoriate their wacky lunacy and when they claim that THEY … Continue reading

TAXING MATTERS…

Oh no, it’s just too awful to contemplate. Public sector workers are going to discover just how much extra they are going to have to pay into their pensions in order to sustain that gilt-edged advantage that they so richly deserve. The BBC ran this item on the topic, you should listen to it. Teachers on 21k a year may have to pay an extra £9 a month – say … Continue reading

NO ENGLISH IN ENGLAND

Vintage morning on the BBC. Is it REALLY necessary for immigrants coming to England to learn English? Give THIS interview a whirl if you dare. It concerns Rashida Chapti, who has lived here for six years (the basis of her residence is not discussed or considered) and whose husband cannot join her unless he learns our language. She is challenging the law as a breach of her human rights! Listen to the easy … Continue reading

CAR CRASH

There are 2,000 electric cars on the road. They have a range of less than 90 miles – half that if you need to put the heater on – and they cost around £28,000, almost four times a petrol equivalent. They have been given a whacking great government subsidy of £5,000 – effectively taking from the poor to give to the rich eco-loons that can afford them. Despite this, people … Continue reading

A CAPITAL IDEA?

I’ve been invited onto the BBC NI Sunday Sequence Radio programme to discuss the issue of Capital Punishment in the aftermath of the Oslo killings. I favour the restoration of the Death Penalty for cold blooded murder but of course under EU law we cannot bring it back, despite the fact the majority of people here share similar sentiments to my own. Have YOU are thoughts on this to share … Continue reading

The BBC Is A Foreign Bureau Of The White House Press Office

We all knew this was coming, ever since former BBC North America editor Justin Webb fretted that the US was in denial of our massive debt and that we were veering dangerously off the cliff of default. Last we heard from his successor, Mark Mardell, the President was taking a $4 trillion “gamble”, which even the current BBC North America editor recognized was a partisan stance and an attempt to … Continue reading

On The Wrong Track

Jeremy Paxman’s behaviour on last night’s Newsnight was staggering. Perhaps his astonishingly aggressive demeanour was his way of bluffing the audience into thinking that social media gossip was a credible substitute for concrete evidence against the EDL. With continual interruptions, hectoring and and exaggerated facial expressions of disgust, he completely departed from interviewing and veered off unsteadily in the direction of attempted verbal assassination. I’m glad to announce that he … Continue reading

NORWEGIAN PHILOSOPHERS

Here’s an interesting catch from a Biased BBC reader. “An excerpt from BBC Radio 4 — ‘Norwegian philosopher Lars Gule believes he argued with Anders Breivik on an online forum, and he “did not stand out with a particularly aggressive or violent rhetoric… he was quite mainstream.” ‘”When it comes to opinions and statements, he was not alone… it shows some of the warped sense of reality that is operating,” … Continue reading
