ECO WACKOS OF THE WORLD UNITE

Anyone watching the Green “debate” on Newsnight? Three panellists and all points of view so long so long as they are eco-wackists Emily Maitlis frames the question “How can we stop climate change” LOL – just super bias. Hey Emily – how can we stop the Earth from turning?

PROTESTING THE BBC…

Tomorrow should be interesting. I’m recording a contribution for BBC NI “Hearts and Minds” TV programme due to be broadcast tomorrow evening. In essence I have a three minute spot to say whatever I want on local political matters. However I am led to believe that there is a protest planned for outside the BBC Headquarters in Belfast for allowing the BNP onto Question Time next week so I hope to have a chat with any protesters I see. Seeing as how the BBC loves having IRA terrorists and Jihad apologists on it, I fail to see why the BNP is to be denied. So it would be interesting to understand what exactly they are protesting about.

MORE ON THOSE EVIL ISRAELIS…

A day is not a proper day in BBC land unless the reputation of Israel has been further besmirched. And so it is with this excuse of a report which alleges that must end “unfair” detentions.

On the matter of fact, the detainees concerned are terrorist suspects, hence the anguish in BBC circles. Once again, the far-left B’Tselem group (and Hamoked) is behind this agitation. The BBC is careful to designate them simply as a “campaign group” when in fact they are an activist hard left and pro Palestinian. Whilst one can accept that B’Tselem will use loaded language, it’s interesting to note how the BBC itself uses the term “incarceration” to describe how Israel deals with suspected terrorists. No bias? Sorry, when it’s little Israel, the BBC is very careful to use the right language to ensure Israel always looks in the wrong.

MORE GREEN SHOOTS..

Did you read this report from the BBC on the latest record unemployment figures? Note how it spins as positive as is possible – a bit like suggesting that although the Titanic is remorselessly sinking into the cold Atlantic water, the rate is slowing! Rejoice – things can only get better, right? Note how “Fragile recovery” is used as the header for two of the three sections, just in case you didn’t get the message. Mandelson must just love the BBC – the UK economy is a train-wreck, the National currency is dying on its feet and yet the BBC is trying to suggest that there is underlying improvement. Keynesian delusionalism rules OK.

GOLD PLATED SECTOR NEEDS MORE GILT!

Had to laugh at the easy ride (Scroll down) afforded Mark Serwotka of the Public and Commercial Services Union when he was droning on about the vital need for further substantial wage increases. The BBC seems keen to promote the idea that the State sector has had a tough old ride in recent years and needs all the extra cash it can possibly get – now there’s a surprise!

ENDANGERING PUBLIC INTEREST?

So what did you think about the BBC being accused of threatening public safety by its decision to invite the British National Party leader Nick Griffin on to its Question Time programme.

In a letter to Mark Thompson, the BBC Director-General, Hammersmith and Fulham Council called on the corporation to move the programme from Television Centre, in White City, West London, over fears that thousands of protesters will picket the building. In a letter, the council demanded that the BBC foot the bill for extra security if it refuses to relocate. Baroness Warsi, the Tory spokeswoman for community cohesion and social action, is to join the panel on October 22,The Times understands. She is set to appear alongside Bonnie Greer, the black writer and broadcaster, Jack Straw, the Justice Secretary, and Chris Huhne, the Liberal Democrat home affairs spokesman.

Either way, we will have the liveblog here Thursday week. You are all cordially invited!

GAZA SCHOOLDAYS

Interesting item from Katya Alder in Gaza here. The UN in Gaza is very worried that thousands of schoolchildren are living in homes and studying in schools in varying states of disrepair. Naturally Israel is to blame for this and Katja was able to provide those lovable inhabitants of Hamastan with plenty of opportunities to damn Israel. With this Israeli-induced cash crisis causing so much misery, I was a bit surprised that the intrepid Katja did not enquire what the locals thought of the decision from Hamas to impose Islamic dress code for girls in these deprived schools, presumably that’s one imposition that nobody minds?

BLESSED ARE THE APPEASERS

Had the misfortune to listen to Thought for the Day this morning. The Right Reverend James Jones, Bishop of Liverpool. gave a little three minute sermon on the wisdom of those who accept that it is right and proper to accept terrorists in government here in Northern Ireland. I do not deny the BBC the right to provide a bully pulpit for clerics who urge appeasement but in the interest of balance they should also allow those morally opposed to gangsters and killers in power to have their say too. Naturally, this does not happen.

RESPECT, RESPECT

Did you catch Hillary Clinton being “interviewed” by John Humphyrs on Today this morning. Note the deep respect afforded to the US Secretary of State and the absence of interruptions. I can’t quite recall the same toadying silence afforded to representatives of the Bush regime, do you? I wonder was Humphyrs on his knees during the series of monologues from La Clinton? It’s amazing to observe the difference in tone from the BBC now that the Nobel Laureate is in the White House. Of course they have always been in love with the Clintons.
