WOSSY BACK.

Well, I sure as heck did not tune in to watch the return of Jonathan Ross to his BBC1 Prime-time Friday night slot. Did you? I read reports that it was his usual combination of vulgarity and narcissism. The thing that gets me is that this vulgarian is paid an absolute fortune care of YOU and ME – the license tax payer – to engage in a weekly exhibition that degrades any sense of standards that the BBC may once have had. Ross is a superb example of all that is wrong with the BBC – but just like his employer Ross does not see that there is even a problem.

BBC IMPARTIALITY UNDER THREAT?

I’m hugely entertained by the faux media storm that the BBC is bravely resisting efforts by Government and others to broadcast a charity appeal for schools in Hamastan! International Development Secretary Wee Dougie Alexander has moaned that it was not too late for a reversal to recognise the “immense human suffering”. (Forget about that suffering including that of Israelis, they don’t even count as humans in wee Dougie’s world-view) A protest is to be held outside Broadcasting House in London after the BBC declined to broadcast appeals by the Disasters Emergency Committee. (aka Save Hamas Now) Now then, given that the BBC has spent three weeks faithfully propagating every blood libel possible against Israel, the notion that it is somehow defiantly holding out to maintain it’s impartiality is a joke. The BBC has no right to be carrying any ads for Hamastan and this is making a virtue out of not doing something it should not be doing anyway! That said, I wonder will it be able to resist the cries of all the Jew-haters out there?

PAYDAY FOR MURDERERS.

Here’s pause for thought. The government has created a little quango here in Northern Ireland with the Orwellian title of “The Consultative Group on the Past” and the bottom line is it suggests that government should cough up £12,000 to the families of all those killed during the Troubles – including members of paramilitary groups. The families of paramilitary victims, members of the security forces and civilians who were killed will all be entitled to the same amount.

BBC journalist Mark Simpson, on the Ten News, has just given this story the usual BBC spin, managing to find a victim of IRA terrorism whose main anxiety was that 12k was not enough. Over on my own blog, A Tangled Web, where I have also overed this story, the daughter of a lady killed by the IRA at the cenotaph in Enniskillen on Remembrance Sunday has expressed her view, which resonates entirely with mine and I suggest the vast majority of decent people; this is an obscene suggestion and it is aiming at equating the killers with those they killed. But the rancid BBC is quite happy to present this grotesquerie as if it were really all quite reasonable. God they revolt me!

THE GREEN SHOOTS OF RECOVERY!

My goodness, I thought I was dreaming. Did anyone else catch Peston on the Ten News just now waxing forth on “the green shoots of recovery”?I loved his line that “since it started in America”, then America is where it could all start recovering. Especially with King Obama now on the throne. Amazing – as we enter the darkness of depression, Peston is full on shilling for the Dear Leader!!!!

WHISTLE A HAPPY TUNE.

Ok, so we may be “officially” in recession but hey, surely things can only get better under The Great Leader! Anyone catch him on “Today” this morning? I see B-BBC regular Notasheep is prominently quoted by the BBC in the link. So what did you think of the Brown interview? I was unable to hear it but for my sins, I did hear a curious interview conducted just after 7am with Nouriel Roubini, professor of economics at the Stern School of Business at New York University. This guru gave a surprisingly upbeat assessment of our economic prospects – I presume his role was that of John the Baptist to Brown’s appearance at 8.10am? I know that the great Roubini is a man whose opinions are much in demand these days and I also know that he is a big supporter of Obama’s economic team, so I suppose no better man to prepare the way for Mr Broon? The BBC select their guests with great care.

QUESTION TIME LIVE

Well, it’s Thursday night and for a bit of fun, it’s Question Time live, as promised last week! This week’s panel has Caroline Flint (Smug Left) Liam Fox (Centre Right) David Laws (Lib Dem – sandal-wearer) Sir Christopher Meyer (Dripping Wet, Left) and Janet Daly (Centre Right). A bit more balanced than usual but wait until the audience gets stuck in! It kicks off at 10.30ish and I will be back then to moderate. Hope you can make it – nice way to get ready for the weekend!

WE’RE

ALL MULTILATERALISTS NOW.

I caught the wretched Lord Patten on Today this morning. He’s a BBC favourite! He was there to make all the usual talking points about the great joy of now having the “President we wanted” but he did not miss the chance to have a good old swipe at Israel, insisting that it would have to deal with Hamas just as “we” had to deal with the IRA. This completely false analogy is consistently pushed by BBC talking heads and it blithely ignores the fact that whilst the IRA were indeed homicidal vermin even they did not seek to wipe every Protestant off the map. The BBC never gives space to those who hold this view although I know that the gospel of appeasement runs deep within the British political Establishment, and is an article of faith for the BBC.

ALL THE DIFFERENCE

Interesting to consider the treatment afforded to the great orator Obama when he a/Firstly fluffed his inauguration oath and then b/Had to take it again, but this time without a Bible. The BBC coverage plays it up with gentle humour but can you imagine the treatment Bush would have got had he made such a gaffe? I wonder, for example, what the left-wing BBC chorus of “comedians” will have to say about this? In the age of Obama, the media whores comply with the narrative.

SOCIALISE BRITISH BANKING NOW.

Did you see Newsnight shilling for the complete nationalisation of British banking? It strikes me that as this financial crisis deepens, those such as the BBC are taking the opportunity to advance their own agenda that the State should own everything, just as it owns the BBC. That way, the BBC secures its own parasitic position. Also, is it just me or is John McFall omnipresent on the BBC these days since he espouses the Statist values the BBC places such value upon.
