GOING DOWN TO LIVERPOOL.

I see the BBC reports that Gordon Brown and his “top team” are on tour in Liverpool today. It’s as if it were a soccer tour! Given the daily collapses that now characterise the UK economy, and the consequential hemorrhaging in jobs, I think the cheery tone of this report is a bit peculiar. Were this a Conservative government, I wonder would the BBC be quite so quick to breathlessly … Continue reading

THE LANGUAGE OF HAMAS.

BBC reporter Paul Reynolds, he who is oft mentioned on this pages, has a new article here on what he calls “the language of Hamas.” I think he makes some fair enough points re Hamas though I suggest to Paul that Hamas do not want a final settlement with Israel, they seek a final solution. BUSH WHACKED.

I bet you’ll all be tuning in on Saturday night to BBC Radio 4 to catch Rory Bremner’s farewell to President Bush. Bremner “considers the rhetorical evolution of George W Bush, from gaffe-prone candidate to grandiose war president. He considers whether Bush grew to become an effective orator and who was responsible for writing the words he spoke and examines some of his key speeches and phrases.” The trailer for … Continue reading

LOVIN’ HUGO.

My thanks to B-BBC commentator Biodegradable for pointing out this image of Venezuelan thug Hugo Chavez which the BBC uses to accompany the news that his country is expelling the Israeli ambassador. US-loathing Iran loving anti-semite Chavez is very much the BBC’s kinda guy having all the necessary qualifications to ensure positive images and positive coverage. Viva la revolution. RADIO HAMASTAN..

Been a busy morning for the BBC in the promotion of the Hamas cause. Around 6.45am they were phoning Gazans up and asking for feedback on how things were going in Hamastan! You can imagine the predictable results! I was wondering how they got these telephone numbers as it would be interesting to know who provided them and who set the calls. Then, half an hour later, it was time … Continue reading

GAZA HISTORY 101

I very rarely watch BBC Breakfast TV but I have just been told about a gem that was on it this morning just after 8am. It appears we were treated to a short potted history of Gaza and the conclusion was that Hamas, after all, is democratically elected and all that Hamas really want to do is get on with building up the Gazan economy and making life better for … Continue reading

THE CABLE GUY

Well another day on “Today” and another guest appearance by Vince Cable. I’m wondering how Vince has any time for his constituents given his numerous visits to the BBC? How they love to hear Lib-Dem words of wisdom, this time on the imagined great evil of “short-selling“. Vince, as per required script, put the boot in on the “dangerous” short-sellers. I wonder if the BBC has lost George Osborne’s telephone … Continue reading

THE GAZA MYTHS.

Funny how the BBC keeps reporting that Gaza is “amongst the most densely populated places on Earth.” They were at it again this morning. When one considers that the population density of the Palestinian disputed territories is below that of, say The Channel Islands, the Hamas apologists preferred retort is to single out just the Gaza strip and base their argument on its population density. Well it IS indeed quite … Continue reading

Not alone

I have been horrified and angered by the coverage of the Israel-Gaza conflict. While paying scant regard to the provocation of 10,000 rockets fired at Israeli civilians from Gaza over the last seven years, the BBC has chosen to broadcast ‘human interest’ stories reminiscent of salacious photos in the cheaper red top newspapers. – Michael Fabricant MP on ConservativeHome.
